Casio‘s latest G-Shock is an amazing watch that features a bright orange design that resembles that of an orange space jumpsuit that NASA astronauts are accustomed to wearing. These uniforms are donned by the astronauts during the time of launch and while exiting the confines of their space shuttle once in space.
Casio G-Shock has some features of the real suit:
The latest offering from Casio is inspired by NASA. The reason the spacesuits are orange is that in the event of a launch going south, astronauts can bail themselves out from the shuttle and the bright orange suits help them to be identified easily once rescue ops begin.
The G-Shock has a black dial that represents the black visor on the helmets of astronauts when they wear the spacesuit. The thin blue line on the dial represents the blue accents on the space uniform. The band loop of the watch features an American flag design while the black casing has the image of an engraved astronaut.
Casio has partnered with NASA on numerous occasions. The watch is one among very few pieces of watches that NASA has approved for use in its space shuttle and onboard the ISS (International Space Station). The existing model is the third NASA-branded model that the brand has come out with.
An all-white model and a black+white model are the predecessors to the orange-colored G-Shock. The latest Casio G-Shock is priced at $170 or Rs.13,581 and is the most expensive watch in the NASA lineup.
The orange watch is currently on sale on Casio’s official site. The brand claims that it arrives with advanced features including Tough Solar Technology along with Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping. The watch has a run time of 10 months on a single charge and 22 months on standby.
