Brazil Squad for India Tour: Full 26-Man List Announced for Historic Kolkata Friendly

Football fever is about to hit Kolkata like never before. Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has officially named his 26-member squad for the upcoming international window, confirming that stars like Vinicius Jr, Raphinha, Marquinhos, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Magalhães, João Pedro, and Endrick will all be part of the touring party set to land in India.

A Historic First for Indian Football

Brazil’s senior men’s team will make its first-ever appearance on Indian soil when the five-time World Cup champions face the Blue Tigers on October 3, 2026, at the iconic Salt Lake Stadium (Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan) in Kolkata. Before landing in India, Brazil will play two friendlies against Australia — in Townsville on September 25 and Brisbane on September 29 — before flying to Kolkata on September 30.

Why This Squad Matters

This marks Ancelotti’s first squad selection since Brazil’s disappointing Round of 16 exit at the 2026 World Cup, where they lost to Norway. With no major tournament immediately ahead, the Italian manager is using this window to begin reshaping the Seleção for the 2030 World Cup cycle — blending established names like Vinicius Jr, Raphinha, and Marquinhos with rising talents such as Estêvão and Endrick.

India’s Biggest Test Yet

Brazil, ranked among the top sides in the world, will be the highest-ranked opposition India has ever faced since the FIFA rankings began in 1992. With India currently placed 138th, the gap is massive — but that’s exactly what makes this fixture historic for Indian football fans.
