Bravo Team Ships Out: “SEAL Team” Officially Joins Netflix This August

Military drama fans, mark your calendars — “SEAL Team” is finally making its way to Netflix, and it’s bringing serious backlog with it. As part of Netflix’s major licensing deal with Paramount, multiple seasons of the hit CBS/Paramount+ action-drama are set to land on Netflix US on August 18th, giving fans the perfect late-summer binge.

This release comes courtesy of a surprise licensing agreement between Netflix and Paramount Global, the same deal responsible for bringing titles like Mayor of Kingstown and Watson to the platform. So far, Lawmen: Bass Reeves has been the only major title to arrive from this deal, landing back in June — making “SEAL Team” the next big addition fans have been waiting for.

While the exact number of seasons hasn’t been confirmed yet, it’s officially “multiple,” and given the show ran for seven seasons total, there’s plenty to look forward to. Netflix is expected to reveal its full August schedule soon, which should clear up exactly how much of the series is coming.

SEAL Team: Overview

For those unfamiliar, “SEAL Team” follows Bravo Team, an elite unit of Navy SEALs, as they navigate high-stakes missions and the personal toll of their demanding careers. David Boreanaz leads the cast as Master Chief Jason Hayes, with the show known for growing darker and grittier after its move to streaming.

One quick note for confused fans: this isn’t the same as Netflix’s 2021 animated film also called Seal Team — that one’s about literal seals fighting sharks. This is the live-action military drama.

The U.S. Navy SEALs, the real-world special operations force the show is based on, have a storied history worth exploring — you can read more on Wikipedia.
