What Happened in Episodes 1-2?

The premiere weekend introduced viewers to Hong Eun-jo, a noblewoman living a dangerous double life. By day, she works compassionately as a physician at Hyeminseo, treating the poor and vulnerable. But when night falls, she transforms into the legendary thief Gil Dong, raiding corrupt officials’ treasuries to redistribute wealth to those in need.

Enter Prince Yi Yeol, a charismatic royal with deceptive depth beneath his playboy facade. While palace officials dismiss his investigative pursuits as mere hobbies, Yi Yeol possesses sharp intelligence and exceptional martial arts skills. His mission: unmask the identity of the mysterious Gil Dong who’s become a folk hero among commoners.

The romantic tension ignited when Eun-jo rescued the prince, mistaking him for a slave, and impulsively kissed him before disappearing into the night. Now Yi Yeol is determined to find both the woman who captured his heart and the thief who’s eluding his grasp—completely unaware they’re the same person.

What to Expect in Episodes 3-4

The Body Swap Arrives: The series’ most anticipated plot device hasn’t occurred yet, and next weekend may finally deliver the supernatural twist. When Eun-jo and Yi Yeol switch bodies, the comedy and complications will multiply exponentially as they navigate each other’s vastly different worlds.

Identity Crisis Brewing: With Yi Yeol intensifying his investigation, Eun-jo’s dual identity grows increasingly precarious. The prince is closing in from both directions, and episodes 3-4 will likely showcase his discovery of crucial clues linking the doctor and the thief.

Deepening Romance: Despite the danger, the emotional connection between the leads continues to strengthen, setting up heartbreaking conflicts between love and duty, identity and survival.

The chemistry between Nam Ji-hyun (returning to sageuk after eight years since “100 Days My Prince”) and Moon Sang-min (who impressed in “Under the Queen’s Umbrella”) has already earned rave reviews from early viewers, who praise their natural rapport and compelling performances.

With KBS’s proven track record for historical youth dramas like “Love in the Moonlight” and “The King’s Affection,” industry watchers expect “To My Beloved Thief” to continue building momentum as the body swap element introduces fresh comedic and dramatic opportunities.

Don’t miss episodes 3-4 this weekend as the stakes rise and secrets threaten to unravel in Joseon’s most thrilling cat-and-mouse chase.
