Meet the New Faces
Jonathan Pryce as Old Violet: this is the headline name. Violet is one of the four white men Mizu set out to hunt, and Season 1 referred to him as already dealt with. His return suggests flashbacks, or that some “dead” characters may not be. The art shows a weathered, friar-like man with a warm expression and specks of blood on his face, a hint that the warmth won’t last. Pryce earned an Oscar nomination for The Two Popes and played Prince Philip in The Crown.
Joel Kim Booster as Priest Ando: the Fire Island and Loot star voices a stern Shinto priest in ceremonial robes and a tall black eboshi cap. It suggests a good chunk of the season still unfolds in Japan, even with Mizu heading abroad.
Sherry Cola as Kuma: the Joy Ride actor voices a young woman in a green kimono, pictured with what look like bloodstains on her shoulder. She stands beside another woman in matching attire. Could she connect to Akemi’s storyline at Edo Castle? That’s the fan theory so far.
Who Else Is Joining?
Earlier reports added Freddie Fox as Poet and Eve Ridley (3 Body Problem) as Sarah. Alan Taylor is also back on the directing team.

The returning core cast includes:
- Maya Erskine as Mizu
- Kenneth Branagh as Abijah Fowler
- Brenda Song as Akemi
- Darren Barnet as Taigen
- George Takei as Seki
- Randall Park as Heiji Shindo
What Did IGN Actually Show?
If you hoped for fresh footage, you’ll have to keep waiting. The segment reused Season 1 clips, so the character art is the only new material. For a real peek at Season 2, check the earlier teasers. They show Mizu and her captive Fowler crossing the sea to the smog-filled streets of 17th-century London.
