Pep Guardiola: Manchester City want to be like Real Madrid

Manchester City have been drawn against 13-time Champions League winner Real Madrid in the Round of 16 this season. The 1st leg is scheduled is to be held on 26th February at Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have been the most dominant force in Europe. They have won the Champions League four times – including a hattrick – in the last six seasons. Despite their poor league record, Madrid have always been the side to beat for the other teams in Champions League.

On the contrary, the Manchester City players are inexperienced in the Champions League. Among the whole squad, only Claudio Bravo and Scott Carson have won the Champions League in their career.

Pep Guardiola knows Real Madrid from his time as a Barcelona coach. He guided Barcelona to win the Champions League twice. But he has admitted that Manchester City players lack experience in Europe and they want to emulate Real Madrid’s success.

Guardiola told reporters: “I have an incredible admiration for this club. The players who have played there have played so many times in the [Champions League] final and I don’t know how many times each one has lifted it.”

“Maybe Claudio [Bravo] has won the Champions League and someone else. We don’t have many players who have won it. But we need the desire to win it and be ourselves, We could win it or lose it. But we must be ourselves in the 180 minutes against Real Madrid. It is the real, real test.”

He further added: “You have players who come to Madrid and pull on the shirt, they know they are defending their history. That makes an extra thing. Not just the spectators and media.”

“They are the club we want to emulate and imitate and we have to be there. I want to go there and at the end of the game I want to say ‘we were what we are’. This is the most important thing in these types of competitions.”

“We need to go and try and do it at one of the biggest, nicest and most prestigious stadiums. After that, we will try with our weapons and try to score the goals. If we cannot, we will congratulate them and try and improve for the next time.

“For us being here is exciting, so good and we will try to do our best, knowing we play against a team who have won 13 Champions Leagues and it is a king.”

“This is the last 16 but maybe the quarter-finals, maybe the semi-finals, maybe the final. You have to beat Madrid, you have to beat Barcelona, you have to beat Bayern Munich. You have to beat the big, big big clubs in this competition if you are to try and win it.”

Real Madrid suddenly find themselves in a bit of mess. They have drawn one and lost another in their last two matches, which resulted in surrendering the top spot of the LaLiga to Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have won two straight Premier League matches without conceding a goal. But Real Madrid are a lot different in Europe and they always rise up to the occasion. So it will be an interesting match at Bernabeu.

Realme to launch Smart TV in India soon.

On 22nd February Realme shared a post in their social media handles hinting the launch of a smart TV. The brand is promoting it with “Ral Sound, Real Design & Real Clarity.” From this and the mockup image, we can be somewhat sure about the product Realme is hinting to launch. Realme has revealed quite a lot of features of the X50 Pro 5G already but has largely kept mum about its smart TV. It was teased by the company’s Indian branch recently, and in an interview on YouTube, Realme’s Indian CEO Madhav Sheth revealed the smart TVs will arrive in India in Q2 2020.

Additionally, in a YouTube interview, the CEO of Realme has revealed some new devices other than Realme X50 5G and the smart TV. Here is the list of almost all the devices which are discussed in the interview video.

Ronaldo equals Serie A record in his 1000th appearance for club and country

Cristiano Ronaldo is still going strong at the age of 35. He made his 1000th career appearance against SPAL on Saturday. Juventus won the match 2-1 to go four points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

It was his 73rd appearance for Juventus. The majority of his appearances have come for Real Madrid. He played 438 times for Los Blancos.

The second-highest appearances came for Manchester United with 292 matches. He started his career with Sporting CP making 31 appearances and a further two for Sporting B.

Ronaldo has played 164 times for Portugal scoring over 100 goals. He is the second-highest goalscorer in men’s’ international football.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the 39th minute against SPAL. He tucked in a goal from Juan Cuadrado’s cross. It was his 725th career goal. He has now found the net in 11th consecutive Serie A matches.

The 725th goal made him level with Fiorentina icon Batistuta and Sampdoria star Quagliarella. They both have previously scored at least once in 11 straight Serie A matches.

Batistuta achieved the feat in the 1994-95 campaign. Quagliarella did it last season at the age of 35. But no one has scored in 12 consecutive Serie A matches.

Juventus will play with Inter on Sunday. If Ronaldo can find the back of the net in the title-deciding clash, he will make Serie A history.

If there’s any one player on the planet on whom you can bet to consistently score in 12 straight Serie A games, it is Cristiano Ronaldo. All the money will be on him to make a new Serie A record. He is an absolute phenomenon.

The Cupertino giant has been linked to various rumours regarding the upcoming iPhone SE 2 which will indeed be the successor to Apple’s budget series of iPhones. But the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus might be a big issue for Apple who already expects to miss the revenue target of Q1 2020.

Even though its operations seems to have affected due to the Coronavirus outbreak in China but Apple plans to launch the iPhone SE 2 in 1H20 itself. Apart from the launch, the new budget iPhone is said to be powered by the A13 Bionic SoC of last year’s iPhone 11 series.

According to MacRumors, the new iPhone has been referred to as the iPhone 9 with the body of an iPhone 8 with a Touch ID sensor and might be equipping the Face ID feature this time.

Also, it says that the iPhone SE 2 will be Apple’s first sub-US$400 smartphones in years and will not include a 7-element plastic (7P) lens as it will be released in 1H20.

The iPhone-Ticker.de has received information for reliable sources, the German website has reported that Apple will release the iPhone SE 2 on April 3, with an announcement occurring either on March 30 or March 31.

Whatever might be the specs of the new iPhone SE 2 but it is clear that we will be getting a new budget iPhone which indeed will help to get more market share for the Cupertino giant, in a huge smartphone market like India, currently dominated by Chinese smartphone brands.

So, what we infer is that the iPhone SE 2 will probably arrive by the end of next month but it may not be available to order until the start of April. Also, it is rumoured that we might be seeing an update to Apple’s iPad Pro lineup and the refreshed MacBook Pros with 10th gen Intel CPUs.

The new striker seems very happy with his debut yesterday and made an immediate impact coming on after half-time and the 20 minutes on the pitch was brilliant.

He helped Leo Messi, who already scored his 54th hat-trick yesterday, to score a quadruple and was also involved in the last goal finished by Arthur. The Denmark international made a good impact on his first outing for the Catalan giants and also won the hearts of the fans as well.

After his amazing assist to Leo, the skipper gave him a warm hug and after the match, Braithwaite joked that he didn’t want to wash his shirt after earning a GOAT hug.

The 61-year old manager recently recruited the Danish international Martin Braithwaite to the Barcelona team for 18M euros as an emergency signing to replace Dembele who is out for the whole season due to injury.

Yesterday at around 70th minute, Setien made a tactical decision to rest Griezmann for the clash against Napoli in the Champions League and gave chance to the new signing Braithwaite.

Already Barcelona was leading at 3-0 and the addition of Martin added a new spark to the attack and pairing in with Vidal, Messi and Arthur made a clinical impact in the last two goals for the team to make a perfect 5-0 win at the Camp Nou.

Yesterday we saw Leo Messi score a brilliant quadruple against Eibar back at Camp Nou leaving the fans off their feet for what it was a wonderful game.

Barcelona won by 5-0 over Eibar and played well, all credit goes to Leo Messi who ended his four-match goal drought with four goals, and now he bags 18 goals so far this season in LaLiga.

Lionel Messi also achieved another landmark on Saturday as he became the first player to hit 1,000 goal contributions after scoring four times against Eibar. The Barcelona skipper now has 696 goals and 306 assists for both club and country in his career.

The Argentine wonder scored two solo goals with his magical skills and the third one was intended for Griezmann who was well-tackled but the ball came back to Leo and he scored his hat-trick even before half time and marked his 54th career hat-trick as well as a fourth first-half hat-trick.

Then we saw the debut of the new emergency signing Martin Braithwaite who came on as a replacement for Griezmann and made an immediate impact by assisting Messi to score his quadruple.

The Barcelona captain also took the match ball home against Real Mallorca and Celta Vigo this 2019/20 season which made Saturday’s game the third hat-trick of the season for Leo.

Samsung begins 6nm & 7nm EUV chip mass production

The South Korean giants have taken a leap in manufacturing efficient SoCs and EUV chips in recent years. Not only are they manufacturing for themselves but also supplying others like Qualcomm & NVIDIA as well.

Samsung already make its own 7nm chips but expanding more of its chip manufacturing is good for their business especially competing with Taiwanese giant TSMC who is progressing at rocket speed.

The company has announced it’s new V1 facility in Hwaseong, Korea which will begin the mass production of its 6nm and 7nm chips based on the EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) lithography process.

According to Samsung’s roadmap, it’s 7nm EUV chip capacity will triple by end of 2020 and they plan to start shipping its 6nm and 7nm-based mobile chips in this Q1 2020.

Back in August 2019, Samsung announced it’s first 7nm EUV based Exynos 9825 chipset featuring on its Galaxy Note 10 Duo. Now, the tech giant aims to continue the development of its 5nm & 4nm chips and plans to break the 3nm barrier in the coming years.

Samsung now owns six chip production units, five of which are based out of South Korea (two in Giheung and three in Hwaseong) and one in the US (Austin, Texas) that supplies chips for notable clients including Qualcomm, Intel and NVIDIA.

Lewandowski has revealed that he came close to signing for Manchester United back in 2012. Imagine if he would have played under Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United! With the form, he is in still now, Lewandowski would have certainly bolstered this current United attack.

The 31-year-old has admitted that it was in 2012 when he came closest to moving to England, with a phone call from Sir Alex Ferguson almost sending him to Old Trafford.

The Poland international told The Guardian: “I was speaking with him after two years at Dortmund and at that time I was really thinking about a move to Manchester United. Because of Ferguson and because of Manchester United.

“Borussia Dortmund said: ‘No, that’s that.’”

“That was the first time I was thinking about the move because if you get a phone call from Sir Alex Ferguson, for a young player it was something amazing. That was a special day for me.”

Manchester United instead signed Robin Van Persie from Arsenal in 2012. He proved valuable to United but Lewandowski would have offered much more. He is still going on with the Bundesliga champions with no signs of stopping. The current United squad would have benefitted hugely if they had a No. 9 with Lewandowski’s caliber.

Manchester City have risen to great heights under Pep Guardiola. They won the Premier League trophy for two successive seasons. The Premier League champions have also won the EFL Cup and Community Shield twice, as well as the FA Cup. They are one of the most successful teams in England in recent years.

But this season Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have outdone Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. It’s just a matter of few matches when City will have to handover the Premier League trophy to Liverpool.

City won their maiden Premier League trophy in dramatic fashion on the final day of 2011-12. After two seasons, Manuel Pellegrini also won the Premier League with City in 2013-14.

Manchester City have 4 Premier League trophies in the last decade but it’s strange that no player from Manchester City has won the PFA Player of the year award.

Only Sterling and Leroy Sane have won the Young Player of the Year prize but that’s not enough for a team that has dominated English football in recent years.

Sterling told AS: “Especially in the last year where we have won the domestic quadruple including the league, to not have a player winning PFA Player of the Year kind of speaks for itself really.”

“The award was given to a Liverpool player [Virgil van Dijk] who had a fantastic season but I look at previous seasons as well when Yaya Toure scored 20 goals from midfield and he didn’t win Player of the Year.
Also, Sergio Aguero has been at the club for more than seven years and has scored unbelievable goals during this time, yet none of City’s players have won it.

“It is impossible to win the league four times and none of the players were Player of the Year. So, this year Liverpool win the league and a Liverpool player will win the Player of the Year for sure. We won the league four times and we were not treated with the same respect.

“The first year we won the league [under Guardiola], Kevin De Bruyne was unbelievable and they gave it to another player [N’Golo Kante]. Every year we win a major trophy and it’s given to an opposition player. It’s that sort of thing that doesn’t depend on us, but we keep going.”

Manchester City have also faced a massive blow. They have been banned for two seasons from European competitions. Speaking on the issue, Sterling said: “It’s something we don’t know much about yet because it’s something that has not been confirmed. The club has a long way to go and we just have to wait and see what happens, but I have full confidence in the club.”

According to various reports, LaLiga giants Real Madrid are interested in Manchester City winger. The 25-year-old’s future has been in doubt again as Manchester City face a two-season ban from European competitions. But Sterling insisted that he is happy at City.

Sterling is relishing the challenge of facing the 14-time champions of Europe in the round of 16 of Champions League this season. He does not think there is anything lucky about Zidane having led Real Madrid to three consecutive Champions League triumphs from 2016 to 2018.

The City winger said: “We had a good reaction when we knew that they will be our rival. If you want to do well I think the best thing you have to do is to play against the best teams straight away and there is no better challenge than Real Madrid.”

“It is always going to be a difficult game whether they are in a good or a bad moment, just because of the atmosphere, the historical stadium that we are going to.
It’s going to be a difficult game, especially now that they are doing really well, but at the same time I’ve got full confidence in our team and if we get it right on the day, I believe we can win.”

“I think to win the Champions League so many times, especially in a row as well, is very difficult. I don’t think that’s luck; it’s definitely a formula. Some people have that winning mentality and he wins by any means. So I wouldn’t say that it’s luck, I’d say it’s something he has probably developed over his great career as a player and he’s developing his career as a manager, so it continues this winning touch.”
