The entry-level quad-core Ryzen 3 3100 caught running at 4.60 GHz on Geekbench

0

The recently announced entry-level quad-core Ryzen 3 3100 has been impressing all of us in the leaked benchmarks. AMD’s 7nm Zen 2 architecture is the major performance booster of the CPU which will go on retail at just $99.

Being an unlocked CPU it can be overclocked well enough if it meets proper cooling requirements. The Ryzen 3 3100 with its 8 logical cores/ threads has a base clock speed of 3.6 GHz and 3.9 GHz boost clock speed.

The entry-level quad-core Ryzen 3 3100 caught running at 4.60 GHz on Geekbench

Recently, @TUM_APISAK discovered a leaked benchmark where we see this entry-level CPU running at a whopping 4.60 GHz at Geekbench 5. It managed to score as high as 1325 points in single-core and 5669 in multi-core tests.

In normal conditions, the chip manages to grab 1,095 points in single-core and 4,507 points in multi-core benchmarks. You can overclock the Ryzen 3 3100 much higher than expected and some other benchmarks also prove that too like it reached up to 4.20 GHz on all cores on Geekbench 4.4.

On the hand, it achieved a 4.50 GHz on both 3DMark’s Fire Strike Extreme and Time Spy benchmarks. So even though being an underclocked quad core CPU, the possibilities are huge, at just $99 price the 7nm processor has more to offer which will be interesting to see if Intel can match up to.

Samsung is working on a 250MP sensor

Samsung was reported to work on a 600MP camera sensor which can even overhead the capabilities of the human eye. Now a most recent report from sources familiar with the matter, suggests that the company is working on a 250MP sensor that could be up to an inch in diagonal.

The 600MP sensor project seems to be a long term project so the company is now focusing on a lower resolution sensor that will be more powerful than its previous 108MP sensor used in Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. For reference, the Galaxy S20 Ultra’s 108MP sensor is 1/1.33″, which is still considerably smaller than the rumored 1″ unit.

d 1 Samsung is working on a 250MP sensor

To give an idea about the 600MP sensor reports claim that one way to do it is to shrink the pixel size – the HM1 and HMX sensors have 0.8μm pixel size, which until recently were the smallest available. Then Samsung introduced a sensor based on 0.7μm pixels and it hopes it can take the shrinking further.

Again, the same report says that the company is done with the research and development of its 150MP sensor and we will see it appear in devices launched in the second half of this year. A technological revolution is occurring in the time of the pandemic.

Huawei patent schematic shows a new Foldable smartphone with quad-camera

0

Huawei is still in the game of making foldable smartphone rivaling Samsung for a very long time. The company has faced a big loss with its Huawei Mate series still the company is exploring different techs for making the new ones better than the previous device.

Recently Huawei has been granted a design patent by China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) that shows schematics of a new foldable phone with a fundamentally different folding mechanism compared to the Mate X and Mate Xs. The patent application was first spotted by LetsGoDigital.

The patent schematics show that the foldable mechanism looks different and just like the Samsung Folds it will also have a screen on the cover side but will be large in scale. The images also show that the phone will come with a quad-camera setup. The fourth sensor in the camera setup at back looks like a periscopic lens from its square design.

  • ezgif 6 59813a134a8f Huawei patent schematic shows a new Foldable smartphone with quad-camera

Surprisingly the foldable phone lacks a camera on the unfolded side or when the phone is unfolded as we can see from the image. But if we see minutely the screen on the cover side is placed on the side where the quad-camera is and just on the side of it. This indicates that there will be no issue while clicking selfies. One can click selfie by closing the phone instead of keeping it wide open.

Unreleased Xiaomi smartphone receives a bunch of certification including Bluetooth and WiFi

Xiaomi is planning the launch of Redmi Note 9 series globally along with the Mi Note 10 Lite on April 30. The launch will be held via an online event held from their official social media handles like YouTube and Facebook. Along with these smartphones there will be some more accessories launching alongside. The company has not revealed the name of the smartphones which will be launched tomorrow in Redmi Note 9 series.

In the meantime a Xiaomi smartphone has received a bunch of certifications – Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC, FCC and EEC. The model code of this device is M2002J9G. Few leaksters including @stufflistings has revealed the images of the certifications and listing name in them.

  • EWsCxE VAAAuuXi Unreleased Xiaomi smartphone receives a bunch of certification including Bluetooth and WiFi
  • EWv25YqXgAAZEQ6 Unreleased Xiaomi smartphone receives a bunch of certification including Bluetooth and WiFi
  • EWwWSM XkAE409W 1 Unreleased Xiaomi smartphone receives a bunch of certification including Bluetooth and WiFi

One of the certifications reveals that it will be a Mi smartphone and others reveal that the phone will have LTE antenna support but no 5G connectivity is mentioned. This means this will be a mid-range or an entry-level smartphone from the company.

Even with the Snapdragon 765G chipset some premium mid-range devices can support 5G connectivity. But as this device is limited to LTE that means the phone can most probably be a entry level smartphone.

The images reveal very little about this unknown device and even information against this model number is scarce right now but we hope in the near future we will come to know something more about this device.
