Ultra-Fast Quantum Computing brought closer to Reality!

0

The last few years have seen tremendous progress towards the construction of non-trivial quantum computers.

Over time classical computing hardware became easier, safer, and faster to use, this resulted in a lot of demand in manufacturing in classical hardware and as a result not much research and development was contributed in the field of Quantum computing.

But there are just some problems which are practically impossible for the classical computers to solve but when it comes to quantum computers their power can leave the classical computers eating dust.

Quantum Computers:

Quantum computing is quite different from traditional digital computing and requires thinking about things in a non-intuitive way. The operations which the quantum computer performs are all based on advanced mathematics which are carried out simultaneously and performed while using extensive energy resources and consumed a lot of memory which are beyond the scope of common hardware systems.

Building a functional quantum computer requires holding an object in a superposition state long enough to carry out various processes on them, which is currently only possible for big names like Google and IBM but their interfaces run on bespoke operating systems invisible to external users. this interfaces are set at a very high level which leads to low-performance implementations.

Deltaflow.OS:

Riverlane, a Cambridge University spin-out company, claims to have successfully trialed Deltaflow.OS, its first high performance universal operating system (OS) for quantum computers. The new OS is said to use “hardware abstraction layer” which enables applications to be implemented on quantum hardware.

Riverlane CEO Steve Brierley said: “We have solved a really important problem in quantum computing: how hardware and software interact whilst teasing the highest possible performance out of a quantum computer. This finally shifts the complexity of designing quantum computer applications from hardware to software.”

When compared with other interfaces like that of IBM, Deltaflow.OS is said to out performance them in quantum computing applications by orders of magnitude.

The Deltaflow.OS is also capable of carrying out quantum error-correction, which is essential to build large and reliable quantum computers, the performance improvement due to Deltaflow.OS will be on the order of 1000 fold.

A Riverlane-led consortium, consisting of Oxford Ionics, Hitachi Europe, ARM, the National Physical Laboratory as well as hardware start-ups Oxford Quantum Circuits, Seeqc, Universal Quantum and Duality Quantum Photonics, has recently been awarded a £7.6M grant by the UK government to bring Deltaflow.OS to market.

Quantum computers promises high computing power and is expected to drive innovation in the fields of health care. The application of quantum computing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is also expected to change the performance of this technologies in the coming decade.

However, not everybody is convinced that quantum computers are worth the effort. Some mathematicians and theoretical physicist believe that some obstacles are practically impossible to overcome, putting quantum computing forever out of reach.

Only time will tell who is right.

Mumbai Indians are living a luxurious life in Abu Dhabi

IPL is going to start on the 19th of September in UAE. Every team has already reached the UAE and have started their practice session.

Mumbai Indians are the most successful team in IPL history. They have won this tournament for a record 4 times. The defending champions are in search for their 5th title this season.

Currently, Mumbai Indians are living in a 7-star property in Dubai. The property is maintained by Marriot Group. That is St Regis, Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. The team is travelling with its own barber, tailor, and entire production crew.

There is a 15,000 sq ft area of the team room, named ‘ONE FAMILY’ area. That was opened for the team and their family for the very first time on Sunday. The hotel is full of luxury. From the exclusive theatre and pool table to karaoke and lounge everything is in there in that room.

Yesterday Mumbai Indians posted a video in their Twitter handle. It gives their fans a virtual tour of their team room.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Zaheer Khan, director of Cricket Operations for Mumbai Indians also spoke in the video. “Well, we always focus on the team room for sure because this is where a lot of bonding happens. Players spend a lot of time here, so it’s with a view that it’s going to be three months. It’s going to be a long time, and all the families and players can get together. So this is going to be, pretty much, our zone.”.

Zaheer said the team will miss their fans this year.”One of the biggest missing factors is going to be out ‘Paltan’ cheering us from the stadium. So we just wanted to have a message conveyed to our players as well as our whole squad, the support staff that no matter where you are the ‘Paltan’ is always going to be there. And you can see it with this wall here dedicated purely for our fans and for the players to know that their support in our victories and ups and downs, is always there,” he said in the video.

All the players and the staff of the team were tested for Covid-19 recently and every one of them found negative. The champion team has already begun its practice in Abu Dhabi and is now looking forward to the first game on 19th September.

MediaTek’s Helio G95 makes its way to the market

0

Taiwanese based chipset manufacturer MediaTek has today launched a new member of the G-Series chipsets group – the Helio G95. Said to be focused on empowering the gaming experience in 4G enabled smartphones, the G95 will presumably give a better graphics processing unit (GPU) performance as compared to its predecessor G90T.

The latest chipset will be making its debut with the Realme 7 series, expected to be making its way into the global market by the first week of September. Yenchi Lee, Deputy General Manager of Mediatek’s Wireless Business Communication Unit, was quoted as saying “MediaTek continues to enhance its G series gaming chips to deliver robust performance and MediaTek Helio G95 is our most powerful gaming chip to date”.

SOURCE – GSM Arena

As can be seen from the infographic above, the most significant change to the Helio G95 is the improvement on the GPU which moves to a Mali-G76 MC4, which is clocked at 900 MHz giving the performance boost from the Mali-G57 MC4 that was clocked at only 800 MHz.

The connectivity, RAM, and CPU layout all look to be the same as the predecessor while the chipset also claims to support 4K 30 FPS video recordings and 64MP camera sensors technology. This probably comes forth as an appealing aspect to those wanting to shoot videos and capture quality pictures on their phones.

However, the strategy from MediaTek here seems to be clear and that is to make a statement with their entire line of G-series chipset and the new recruit only seems to be a more powerful edition to attract those gaming fanatics.

The rise of consumption in mobile games such as PUBG, Call Of Duty, and Clash Of Clans to name a few, only consolidates the fact that MediaTek wants to be across the premium, mid-tier, and lower-end gaming smartphones’ market and provide users with an all-round seamless experience.

It remains to be seen how the Realme 7 series’ phones perform, which could provide users with an initial impression of the Helio G95’s hands-on performance.

Bayer Leverkusen manager all but confirms Havertz deal to Chelsea

0

Chelsea has been one of the most active teams in the transfer market this season. They’ve already got Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva over the line and are still hungry for more.

Kai Havertz’s transfer saga has been going on for a few months now. Reports had surfaced last week that Chelsea had agreed on a fee with Leverkusen for the 21-year-old, making him the most expensive Chelsea player in history.

Fans have been patiently waiting the official announcement of the signing of the German wonderkid by the Blues, and it seems that Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz has all but confirmed the departure of his prized asset.

While speaking to the media about the side’s preparations for the upcoming season, the manager said that he does not expect Kai to train with the team anymore.

To quote the Leverkusen manager: “There are clubs and people, like Roman Abramovich in this case probably, who are able to and want to pay it. They will have calculated it well and Kai is not the only player joining Chelsea this summer.”

Havertz racked up 18 goals and 9 assists across 40 appearances in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen. He came up through their youth academy and broke into the first team in the 16/17 season. Havertz has also been announced as a part of Joachim Low’s Germany squad for the UEFA Nations League.

Werner and Havertz are already familiar with each other from the national team. With the likes of Ziyech and Pulisic joining the attack, the link-up play between the four of them promises to be spectacular.

All that remains to be seen is whether the Blues can sort out their defence.

This public statement by the tactician all but confirms that the Blues have got their man.

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos to return back to Arsenal after turning down three loan bids

0

Dani Ceballos will return back to Arsenal after a season long loan deal.

The 24-year old Spanish footballer will rejoin Arsenal on a season-long loan from Real Madrid this week. He spent his 2019-20 campaign at the Emirates Stadium. He reportedly turned down three loan bids from Italy and Spain. When asked about the same, “only Arsenal”, was his answer.

The club also announced the signing of 22-year old Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes. World-renowned journalist and reporter Fabrizio Romano first reported the news on Twitter.

“Arsenal is planning to announce soon the ‘coming back’ of Dani Ceballos after he turned down three loan bids [from Italy and Spain]. “Only Arsenal” was his answer. A simple loan from Real Madrid. Contracts signed for Gabriel – no problem, it’s 100% done.”

Ceballos’ previous season at Arsenal

Ceballos joined Arsenal after a season-long loan in July 2019. He had previously represented Real Betis and Real Madrid. He made his first appearance for Arsenal in August 2019 where he provided two assists in a 2-1 victory over Burnley. Ceballos also earned a man-of-the-match for his performance. He scored his first goal for Arsenal in a 4-0 win over Standard Liege in October 2019. Recently he scored his second goal for Arsenal in to secure a 2-1 win over Sheffield United in June 2020.

Best for Ceballos to stay at Arsenal?

Ceballos has already formed a good relationship with Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and the rest of the squad. Arteta always wanted to keep him as well because he was an important component of the team who won the FA cup final. The midfielder wasn’t part of Real Madrid’s head coach Zinedine Zidane’s plan anyway.

A return to Arsenal will further guarantee him enough game time for European championship and Olympics next summer.

Apple is Preparing 75 Million 5G iPhones alongside New Watch, iPad Models: Report

Apple is all set to build their brand new 5G iPhones. The company has asked the suppliers to build at least 75 million models for later this year. Though for the recent global pandemic situation, every company out there faced an amount of loss of their business, but Apple was different. In spite of this crisis situation Apple has managed its profit margin really well by fulfilling the needs of its users.

The Cupertino, California-based technology giant ensures that the shipment of these brand new 5G iPhones may reach as high as 80 million units in 2020. Apple has already planned to launch four new models in October this year with 5G wireless speeds. These four new models may have a different design and also a wider choice of screen sizes.

Not only 75 million 5G iPhones, but also a huge number of New Apple Watch as well as iPad models are decided to be made at the end of the year. Regarding this, Apple is preparing a new iPad Air with an edge-to-edge iPad Pro like display. Also, Apple headphones and HomePod speakers are also in the making according to an Apple spokeswoman.

The COVID-19 outbreak has hammered the world economy and disrupted supply chains. Apple is still feeling the demand for its iPhones. According to a report, Apple shares have soared 76 percent this year making it the first US company to surpass $2 trillion (roughly Rs. 14,569,510 crores) in market value.

Now let’s talk about those four new iPhones from Apple. According to reports, Apple will split those four iPhones into two sections. Two of them will be basic models and the other two will be high-end models. These iPhones will feature OLED displays with color and clarity improvements. The two basic iPhones will come in a new 5.4-inches and a 6.1-inches option, while the high-end models will offer a choice between 6.1-inches or an enlarged 6.7-inches display. That means, Apple is finally providing some huge display in their iPhones like other Androids.

Apple has updated the iPhone designs with squared edges similar to the iPad Pro. The high-end iPhones will use stainless steel edges versus aluminum sides on the cheaper variants. Regarding the colors, the company is also planning a dark blue color option on the Pro models. This color may replace the Midnight Green of the 2019 iPhone 11 Pro model.

Regarding the cameras, these phones will have the LIDAR camera as on the iPad Pro. This type of camera allows Augmented Reality (AR) apps to have a greater understanding of their surroundings. Also, these new iPhones will be powered by the new A14 processor with upgrading speed and power efficiency. Some reports are saying that Apple’s iOS 14 software will arrive in September. So, we can expect the iOS 14 operating system in those new iPhones.

And the last but not the least highlight will be the fifth-generation wireless speeds (5G). Apple is still working on this technology to produce improving connections and higher speeds. The new Apple Watch lineup will include a successor to the Apple Watch Series 5 and a replacement for the Series 3. We can expect some competition between the Series 5 Apple watch and those lower-cost fitness devices such as those from Fitbit.
