Oracle to become TikTok’s ‘trusted technology partner’

Oracle Corp. finally cracks the deal to take a stake in TikTok and US President Donald Trump also gave approval to it. But, Oracle Corp. isn’t the only investor, Walmart is also there in the deal. The new formation having TikTok with its majority in stake and other investors like Oracle and Walmart will be called TikTok Global.

As per the reports, Oracle has a plan to acquire a 12.5% stake and along with that it will be TikTok’s ‘trusted technology partner’. That is because Oracle will house TikTok’s data in that US server and also get access to the source code and algorithm so that it can review, update, and monitor the entire setup.

Walmart, on the other hand, will take a 7.5% stake of TikTok Global. The Chief Executive Officer of Walmart, Doug McMillon will be one of the board members of TikTok Global.

Bentonville, Arkansas-based Walmart said in a statement, “This partnership will provide Walmart with an important way for us to expand our reach and serve omnichannel customers as well as grow our third-party marketplace, fulfillment and advertising businesses,”

The new formation is likely to be headquartered in Texas and will hire a minimum of 25,000 people though the timeline is not disclosed yet. Apart from this, TikTok Global will use proceeds of the IPO to create a $5 billion education fund on which Trump said, “That’s their contribution that I’ve been asking for”.

We need to keep in mind that only Trump’s approval is not enough for this deal, a green signal from the Chinese Government is also needed. Lastly, ByteDance still owns the 80% stake of TikTok global.

There is no word for WeChat, the Chinese messaging app that also facing a ban like TikTok.

Samsung is working on its own 3D ToF sensor called ISOCELL Vizion

Recently, Samsung has come up with a piece of new news and filed a document in EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) that the company may reveal a new feature of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 family next year. The technology is a so-called ISOCELL Vizion camera that perfectly fits one of a 3D ToF sensor.

A 3D ToF sensor basically is a type of scanner-less LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) that uses high power optical pulses in durations of nanoseconds to capture depth information (generally over short distances) from a scene of interest.

According to some reports, the Galaxy Note20 series of Samsung has missed on the 3D ToF sensor. The reason behind it is Sony was already preoccupied with Apple’s orders of the said sensor. So, the company is looking to put the technology in the Galaxy S21, which is set to launch in the next year. But some rumors also say that the upcoming S-series from Samsung might not feature the 3D ToF sensors.

The description says that Samsung is looking to use this technology for its facial recognition in case the company decides to put one on the front. As of now, that’s all about the news. There is no confirmation yet that Samsung will use the ISOCELL Vizion sensor in the upcoming Galaxy S21. But it is quite sure that the company is looking to use its feature in its upcoming future smartphones. This time it may be a process of expanding the product portfolio.

IPL 2020 has begun in full-swing.

Earlier we saw the battle of two arch-rivals who have won the tournament multiple times. Today we’ll preview the teams who are eyeing their maiden IPL trophy as Delhi Capitals take on Kings XI Punjab.

Kings XI Punjab

 Here’s where things get interesting. The Kings have mostly stuck with the basic structure of their team, despite struggling in the past few seasons. However, their already existing players have upgraded themselves into serious T20 players.

Captain KL Rahul stands at an impressive second position in the ICC T20 batsmen rankings. They have purchased one of their own, Glenn Maxwell back. Maxwell has regained form as well after taking some time off from the sport. He resurged to gain the number one spot in top T20 allrounders rankings. Nicholas Pooran has shown potential as well.

All eyes will always be on the big man, Chris Gayle, whether he’ll be able to show his power.  Just like batting, their fast bowlers seem to have been on the rise as well. Mohammed Shami, Sheldon Cottrell, and Chris Jordan have become great T20 bowlers who can deliver at death overs as well.

Delhi Capitals

The Capitals’ batting is certainly promising but looks like a double-edged sword. The team may have accommodated too many openers or batsmen who are suitable to play only at the top order. 

The bowling, on the other hand, seems well-equipped. The spin department especially has a unique blend of variety and experience. The team will have the services of off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, leg-spinner Amit Mishra, left-arm spinner Axar Patel, and mystery spinner Sandeep Lamichhane.

Fantasy XI Team!

KL RAHUL (10.5) (C) – Rahul has been a lone warrior for the team. He is expected to play big. He’ll also be my captain as well.

NICHOLAS POORAN (9) – The explosive left-handed batsman can change the course of the game at any time.

SHIKHAR DHAWAN (10) – Shikhar Dhawan can be extremely explosive in the powerplay overs and may also play an anchor sort of an innings and score big!

CHRIS GAYLE (9.5) – If the big man gets going, we all know how destructive he can be.

SHREYAS IYER (9.0) – Shreyas Iyer is expected to lead by example and play big.

GLENN MAXWELL (9.0) (VC) – Maxwell is coming off a huge series winning hundred against England. He’ll be my vice-captain.

MARCUS STOINIS (8.5) – Stoinis has shown decent form in current Australia vs. England series.

KAGISO RABADA (9.0) – He will lead the Delhi attack.

MUJEEB-UR-RAHMAN (9.0) – The mystery spinner will be an important asset.

MOHD. SHAMI (8.5) – He will lead the KXIP attack.

RAVI BISNOI (8) – The U-19 World Cup’s highest wicket-taker will be interesting to watch.

PREDICTION

KXIP looks more balanced with in form players. They will probably defeat the Capitals.

Seems that Google is all set to launch its next-generation Pixel smartphone alongside a 5G variant of Pixel 4a but it looks like that these both won’t alone and will be joined by some new Nest smart home devices including the Nest smart speaker and long due Android TV streaming stick codenamed Sabrina.

To explain to you the TV sticks its just a normal Android TV box but in the shape of a dongle something like a Chromecast that runs Android TV instead of just casting your Android smartphone. It comes with remote control and also has a whole suite of android applications compatible with your television. We have also come across some new images of the Android Stick which look not less than original.

According to the source of these images, Google is planning to rename the Android TV back to Google TV which was its original name way before Google renamed it to Android TV and it falls much in line with Google’s other smart home devices so just to make it less confusing for you Google will be launching “Google TV” not “Android TV”.

As far as specs are concerned the Google streaming stick is expected to be powered by Amlogic S905X2 SoC along with Mali-G31MP2 GPU and at least 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

The remote control gets the minimalistic treatment with some basic control buttons and a joystick on it and volume rockers are on the side of the remote just like a smartphone along with dedicated buttons for Google Assistant, Youtube, and Netflix.

The user interface is also expected to get a refresh with more focus on the content instead of individual applications.

According to a few sources, the Google streaming stick which would be known as Google TV or Android TV or Chromecast with Google TV will be selling for $50 which is way less than its counterparts.

Xiaomi, in this year too, announces the Smarter Living event for 29th September. Though the company didn’t say directly what it is bringing to us on this event but indirectly said a lot. Firstly, the ‘Smarter Living 2021’ banner hides lots of products like a smart band that could be the Mi Band 5, a pair of shoes, a bicycle, some speakers, and more. There is also a round-faced smartwatch, which Mi India teased on Twitter. As per the post, this smartwatch could be named as ‘Xiaomi Watch SE’.

Now, it seems the list is not over yet as the brand, today (19th September) posts a video on Instagram Story where, in the end, it writes “Your vibe has a new style” and in the background, comb teeth are clearly visible. There were a lot of rumors from a few days about the launch of the new Samsung F series in India. Finally, it is confirmed by the company itself that they will bring a new F series of Samsung in the upcoming days. It is also expected that the first smartphone in the upcoming new Samsung Galaxy F series may be priced under Rs. 20,000 in India, which is rumored to be called the Galaxy F41.

The South Korean tech giant Samsung has a pretty huge market all over the world. It is mainly known for its mid-range to premium quality smartphones. A couple of years ago, Samsung had introduced its mid-range smartphone series, which was the M-series. We all know that M-series smartphones from Samsung have made a huge impact on the mid-range smartphone market and it is still running.

Finally, after a long wait, the Taiwanese laptop giant has launched its premium range of gaming laptops in India including the Predator Helios 300 and the Triton 300 gaming laptops. These laptops have been updated on the hardware side mostly and some minor improvements overall.

Both of these laptops are powered by the latest 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-H processors (up to Core i7) paired with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 2,933MHz along with two PCIe NVMe SSDs in RAID 0 configuration and additional up to 2TB hard disk drive for mass storage. 

For graphics, you have up to a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 GPU with the Max-Q design for better performance in a thinner form factor. Both of the laptops come with customizable RGB keyboards.

Acer Predator Helios 300

The Acer Predator Helios 300 features a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display with up to 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms overdrive. The laptop is backed by a modest 59Whr battery.

For connectivity, the Helios 300 offers you a Killer’s E26001 Ethernet Controller, Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i, Bluetooth 5.0. On the other hand, for ports, you get two USB 3.2 Gen 1, a USB Type-C port, and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port with power-off charging support.

The Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop supports DTS:X Ultra Audio, while for thermals you get two fans, one of which is a custom-designed 4th generation AeroBlade 3D fan which shall reduce noise while increasing airflow. You can adjust the fans manually via Acer CoolBoost software.

The Predator Triton 300, on the other hand, also features a 15.6-inch full-HD IPS display with up to 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. The display is color accurate as well as it covers 100% of the sRGB color space.

While the Triton 300 supports up to 32GB of RAM using two SODIMM modules, you can expand the SSD storage up to 3TB via three M.2 SSD slots. For ports, you have HDMI 2.0, mini-DP 1.4, and USB 3.2 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB Type-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2), and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port with power-off charging.

The Acer Predator Triton 300 also comes with two fans for thermals, one of them being 4th generation AeroBlade 3D metal fan for improved airflow. Also, there’s the Acer CoolBoost software for tuning and is very lightweight, weighing just 1.7kg.

Both of the laptops are now available in India via Acer Exclusive Stores, Flipkart, Amazon, Croma, Reliance, Vijay Sales, and Acer E-store. While the Acer Predator Helios 300 starts at Rs. 84,999, the Predator Triton 300 with Core i5-10300H + GTX 1650 Ti + 8GB RAM + 512GB SSD storage starts at a modest Rs. 89,999.

Cyberpunk 2077 Gang Details, PC System Requirements, and a Colorful New Trailer Drop

Yesterday CD Project Red dropped a new trailer of Cyberpunk 2077 which showcased Night City. The trailer included a colorful new “Postcards from Night City”,  full PC requirements, and new information about the game’s gangs.

Additionally, CD Projekt Red gave more details about the different gang factions in Cyberpunk 2077. It appears that you’ll run into nine gangs. The first gang is Maelstorm, a ruthless group of people covering their eyes with red light and have heavily augmented machinery in their body. The second gang is Tyger Claws, an Asian gang who wield swords, in addition to guns. The third is gang Moxes, a self-reliant sex-workers consist of outcasts and freakshows who hates Tyger Claws after one of their members got killed by Tyger Claws.

Fourth are the Animals, hired muscles. The fifth gang is the Voodoo Boys, focused on hacking and is presented as the most tech-savvy of the gangs. The 6th Street gang is a bunch of patriots who loves the second amendment. The gang Valentinos are a mainly Latino gang and switch between speaking Spanish and English in the same sentence. Both 6th Street and Valentinos appear to have some kind of rivalry. Check ou the gangs in depth.

The Minimum requirement and Recommended PC requirements of the Cyberpunk 2077 have finally been released and to our surprise, it’s not as demanding as we initially thought.
