AMD Radeon RX 6800 could be best suited for power-efficient systems

0

AMD’s RDNA2-based GPU’s will be launched in the Quarter one of 2021, but it is not stopping some developers to check the performance of these cards. The developers at ComputerBase has put together the most exhaustive performance report of the RX 6800/XT cards.

According to them, the new AMD cards, especially the RX 6800 model, has performed extremely well and have given out some surprising results. The RX 6800 XT has shown a decrease in power requirements, and high power demand was not significant. The voltage could be lowered from 1.15 V to 1.025, and it won’t cause any instability to the system and performance. The lower voltage even boosts the performance up by a few fps across the board.

AMD Radeon RX 6800: your step into 4K gaming at just $579

The results prove that though RX 6800 XT offers low voltage, the RX 6800 is much more efficient when it comes to under-volting. The voltage can be lowered from 1.025 to 0.9 V. We are entering the age where laptop-grade power efficiency is extremely valuable, and AMD seems to be hitting the bullseye in this regard.

There are rumors that AMD could release an RX 6800M GPU with a 150-180 W TGP that will match the performance of the desktop RTX 2080 Ti. The RX 6800M will probably come with the same 60 CUs as the desktop version but will have lower core clocks set to 1.7 GHz and boost clocks set to around 2 GHz.

According to sources, Nvidia is planning to release mobile versions for the RTX 3000 series, but we are not sure if it can provide performance gains over the 2080-series. Because the card will be based on an 8 nm fabrication process from Samsung, on the other hand, AMD relies on its own architecture and seems to have the upper hand in this regard.

MediaTek MT6893 beats Snapdragon 865 in Geekbench

0

MediaTek MT6893, Dimensity 1000+, and Snapdragon 865 have appeared in a side by side comparison on benchmark results, and the scores are damn impressive. The MediaTek MT6893 and Snapdragon 865 SoC seemed to be on the same level; however, the Density 1000+ is well behind them. MediaTek MT6893 (6nm) ‘ manufacturing process is ahead of Snapdragon 865 (7nm), but Qualcomm’s SoC still manages to stay in the race. But, the final version of MediaTek MT6893 will probably beat the Snapdragon 865 SoC.

In the single-core test, the MT6893 and SD865 scored 886 points, and the Density 1000+ scored 765 points. However, in the multi-core test, the MT6893 scored 2948, the SD865 scored 3104, and the Density managed a score of 2874.

According to a Geekbench test, the model MediaTek’s 5G chip is MT689X, and it has an ARM Cortex-A78 core design. The highest frequency of the central core is 3.0GHz, and it will be manufactured by TSMC 6nm. On the other hand, its biggest competitor is the Samsung Exynos 1080 processor uses Samsung’s latest 5nm process. But it also uses a 2.8GHz Cortex-A78 core. It also has three 2.6GHz Cortex-A78 bodies and four efficient 2.0GHz Cortex- A55 core composition.

According to sources, the MT689X will be released before the end of this year. Of course, a Chinese manufacturer will likely launch this chip. Xiaomi devices will most likely have this chipset.

Nvidia will fail to meet the supply-demand of RTX 3000 GPUs for the next few months

0

Nvidia’s RTX 3000 GPUs have been launched in the market, and the demand for these cards seems to be increasing day by day. But for those looking to purchase these cards have been hit with sad news. Unfortunately, the GPU supply from Nvidia will continue to be extremely low. Sources claim that it will not be able to meet the demand for the coming months.

The news was brought during the Quarter three financial report conference call by Nvidia’s CFO Colette Kress. While blaming it on the constraints in the supply chains, he stated, “Given industry-wide capacity constraints and long cycle times, it may take a few more months for product availability to catch up with demand.”

Earlier, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that the supply would surely not meet demand by the end of 2020. But now, it appears that the problems could persist well into 2021. The shortages will most likely linger until the end of 2021 if any medicine didn’t subside the infection rates. Analyst claims that authorities across the world are expecting a third infection wave in early 2021. So, the demand for the cards might only catch up by Q2 2021.

Nvidia earlier reported 37% Year on Year and QoQ growth amounting to $2.27 billion from the gaming segment. But the figures do not include RTX 3000 sales, and AIB cards only started trickling in early October. However, it seems that Nvidia is not only the only industry struggling with this problem. AMD is also suffering from fewer supply problems.

NVIDIA GeForce NOW comes to iOS via Safari

0

Cloud gaming has become a thing now, and we have recently seen Microsoft even launching its Project xCloud for the PC platform. But now, Nvidia’s GeForce NOW has brought the world of PC gaming to iOS devices through Safari. GeForce NOW is finally available for iOS through Safari; of course, the streaming service is still in beta mode, though. But just by launching Safari, iPhone, and iPad, users can experience GeForce NOW’s amazing features.

After the users log in, they are greeted with a massive catalog of the latest and most played PC games. The list of games available includes Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Destiny 2 Beyond Light, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and more. GeForce NOW on iOS Safari requires a gamepad, and as of now, keyboard and mouse-only games aren’t available. The company says it is due to hardware limitations.

Another great news is that finally, Fortnite will be available to be played on iOS devices. Thought Epic Games has stated that it would still take some time for the game to be launched in a stable state. More than 750 PC games are available on GeForce NOW, and Nvidia has promised to add games every week.

An additional feature that will come soon on GeForce NOW will be the ability to connect with GOG. It will give GOG members access to even more games in their library. The first GOG.com games anticipated to arrive are CD PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (yep, Geralt is coming to slay the monsters).

Cloud gaming is increasing its value with every passing day. However, GeForce NOW isn’t like any other cloud gaming service. Its alliance is currently made up of LG U+ in Korea, KDDI, and SoftBank in Japan, GFN.RU in Russia, and Taiwan Mobile. It will launch its beta on Nov. 7.

Microsoft Teams offers 24-hours of free video conferencing to compete against Zoom during

0

The pandemic video conferencing platforms have seen an increase in their demands and thus have become valuable assets. Out of all the companies out there, Zoom has seen tremendous growth in popularity. Enough to make Microsoft consider it it’s rival.

To take on Zoom, Microsoft Teams has now provided an all-day video calling option that can be used for free. The service allows you to create a Microsoft Teams meeting for up to 300 friends and family that can run all day free of charge.

Users won’t need a Microsoft Account or the Microsoft Teams app to join calls; it can be entered for free via a web browser. It will also support seeing up to 49 friends or family members in a gallery view.

Due to the pandemic, travel has been banned for the upcoming Thanksgiving festival, and Microsoft seems to be targeting this to increase its subscriber base. It says that the new feature will help connect the families during the festival.

With the 24-hour limit on meeting length and easy-to-use web app, Teams suddenly looks like Eden’s apple among video conferencing apps. Zoom also plans to lift its 40-minute limit during Thanksgiving. While other competitors like Google Meet (60-minute limit) and Cisco Webex (50-minute limit) have similar restrictions. The Redmond-based giant has been eagerly trying to push its skype video call service for its competitors’ best alternative. But honestly, I think we all have forgotten that skype even exists in the first place.

Again the free video calling feature will not require users to have a Microsoft account to join the meeting and be used via the web browser. The meeting limit is 24-hour, and it can easily accommodate up to 300 people.

Injuries might cost Zidane his job at Madrid with Ramos and Benzema out

0

With the international break done with, Zinedine Zidane will have to deal with a fresh set of selection problems. Many notable names will be missing for Los Blancos owing to injuries, and to COVID-19.

Sergio Ramos was forced off with a hamstring injury in Spain’s 6-0 annihilation of Germany in the Nations League. He will be out for about two weeks and will miss today’s match against Villareal, the Champions League clash against Inter, as well as a home game against Alaves.

Despite being among the starting eleven alongside Nacho, Varane is most likely not 100% fit. He had a shoulder problem in France’s match against Sweden and had to be subbed off at half time.

Karim Benzema is still out with a muscle injury that he picked up in the defeat against Valencia. Luka Jovic has tested positive for COVID-19, and will be unavailable for selection in the upcoming weeks. Fede Valverde was in amazing form for Madrid, but is also injured and will be out for another couple of weeks at the very least.

Mariano Diaz, the only fit striker at the club, will be starting against Villareal and will probably lead the line against Inter as well.

hazard

On the brighter side of things, Carvajal, Hazard, Casemiro, Nacho and Eder Militao have tested negative for the coronavirus. Carvajal and Hazard start for Madrid against Villareal, and the latter three will be hoping to get involved for the La Liga champions in the upcoming fixtures.

The loss of Sergio Ramos is the heaviest blow dealt to the team, especially considering Madrid’s recent defensive problems.

Having the likes of Rodrygo, Marco Asensio and Vinicius among their ranks will help the club from the attacking side of things, but the absence of Benzema is bound to be felt unless the fit players can get the goals.

While Madrid currently find themselves at fourth place in the La Liga table, they sit in third place in their Champions League group behind Borussia Mönchengladbach and Shakhtar Donetsk. Both of whom have given Madrid a run for their money in the first two matches.

The 13-time Champions League winners will have to do everything right from here on out to avoid the drop to the Europa League. For a team of their stature, not making it through the group stages of the Champions League will be deemed as an absolute failure, and would be shameful to say the least.

The absence of Ramos, Benzema and a shaky defense is not making things any easier for Zinedine Zidane.

Who is Ritwik Das, the 23-year-old winger who made his debut for Kerala Blasters in ISL?

It is going to be a long and hard season for all ISL teams, especially in such unprecedented times affected by the pandemic. So the squads have been broadened and the number of opportunities to youngsters will be afforded more often than not.

One such player trying to make his mark on the big stage, is Kerala Blasters’ dynamic young forward Ritwik Das. The footballer from West Bengal was previously a Mohun Bagan academy product but started his career in the Indian top-flight with Real Kashmir in the 2018/19 I-League season. Whilst featuring in the second division, Ritwik scored 4 goals in 10 appearances for the club.

Ritwik’s ability is as a versatile winger who can also take on the playmaker’s role during matches. His versatility is one of the key standout features and also impresses with his workrate.

Although he did not frequently start for Real Kashmir, he was the first choice impact substitute for David Robertson to come and create some attacking output.

In addition to his frontline duties, he also likes to track back and support the defenders which make him an asset considering some teams are dangerous on the counter attack in the Indian Super League. Another way to look at it is that due to his versatility, he could be converted and used as a right-back in the future as well.

Midfielder Ritwik Das joins Kerala Blasters FC-

Under Kibu Vicuna’s tutelage, there is no doubt he will receive the requisite opportunities to create a mark of sorts. He already impressed enough in training to earn a start against ATK Mohun Bagan in yesterday’s ISL opener.

Although there was not much chances created, Ritwik got into the right areas and was often seen asking for the ball to dribble past the Mariners’ defence.

Kerala Blasters will certainly be his home for the upcoming season, but it will interest to see how one of India’s rising stars can progress his career ahead.

Top 10 Football Managers who have spent the most since 2016

Many successful managers have gotten to the level they are at because of extremely talented players and significant investment put in by their respective clubs’ owners. After all, they are also important factors and good tactical systems and training regimes to succeed in the modern-day era.

Let us take a look at the Top 10 spending managers in the world of football –

10) Jürgen Klopp – €525.85 million

9) Thomas Tuchel – €528.1 million

Considering his last few years have been stints at Dortmund and PSG, it is not a surprise to find Tuchel on this list. The German coach has swept home all the trophies during his time with the French champions but failed to lift the UCL title having made it to the final for the first time in their history.

8) Maurizio Sarri – €599.3 million

An investment banker who came through eight football divisions before reaching the top-flight certainly made it count with some heavy investment at Napoli and later at Chelsea. Bankrolled with the ability to buy talented players, Sarri’s biggest achievement undoubtedly was to win the Europa League for Chelsea in the 2018/19 season.

7) Jose Mourinho – €611.1 million

The Portuguese manager has been at some renowned clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United in the last decade, which allowed him a relatively free hand over transfers spending. Of course, he also backed it up with considerable success at these clubs, with only Guardiola and Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of him in terms of trophies count.

6) Massimiliano Allegri – €623.43 million

His managerial attributes reflected majorly with those two sides as he won the Europa League thrice with the Andalusian club. Still, he failed to make any impact whilst at Arsenal in the Premier League.

Diego Simeone

4) Diego Simeone – €650.7 million

What a revolution it has been for Atletico under the Argentine coach who has led them to considerable success in the past decade. Morata, João Felix, and Diego Costa all came during his time at the club, which required significant sums of money to be spent.

3) Antonio Conte – €677.82 million

One of the more famous managers, Conte’s ability has not necessarily been reflected in his Chelsea and Inter Milan results. Bar winning the league in 2016/17, the Italian head coach has been culpable for setting up teams, which led to some disastrous losses and, ultimately, no titles.

2) Ernesto Valverde – €774.6 million

During Valverde’s reign, Barcelona ushered in a new era post the famed “MSN” trio of Messi, Suarez, and Neymar. After the Brazilian forward elected to move to Paris Saint Germain, Barcelona bought Ousmane Dembele and Phillipe Coutinho for a combined €280 million. Valverde delivered a La Liga and Copa Del Rey but eventually failed to bring home the much wanted Champions’ League title.

1) Pep Guardiola – €924.91 million

Always the heavy spender, never the poorer. Backed by strong financial resources at Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has elevated the club’s status to the next level, with many domestic trophies coming into the Etihad Stadium. Although the large outlay of the budget has been spent, European success continues to elude him. He will hope with the latest contract extension that he can deliver the Champions League title at the earliest.
