Timo Werner is a step away from scoring in his new role under Thomas Tuchel

0

While the goals have not been coming in for Timo Werner yet, he looks like a man reborn under new Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel. The Germany international has undergone a change in role to be included in Tuchel’s system, which seems to be suiting him quite well.

Werner now plays as a left number 10 behind either one of Tammy Abraham or Olivier Giroud, who take up the role of the classic number 9. The new player now has more freedom in the centre to operate not only behind the lone striker but also has another player behind him to cover up.

Y’We are proud of this win to continue our last wins and, for myself, no goal, but it’s good to see I can help the team with other moments,’ Werner said at Bramall Lane.

‘I’m happy when we win, when I can make two assists, it’s good. When I don’t score, it’s a long period for me, you can’t do anything, you have to keep going and the goals will come.

‘Every manager is different, he gives us a lot of ideas. I play as a left 10, not a winger, so I have more space in the middle. I play behind a striker or with a 10 behind me, it’s very good for me.’

The German has not found the back of the net in 14 games, but has been looking evee so threatening under his compatriot. Werner is usually the main fouled in the box, winning penalties for the team thanks to his blistering pace, and he can have the chance to back up in the games to come.

The French giants have been in rumours of heavily linked to the Barca star in the past few weeks and have explicitly expressed their wish to make him a part of the club this coming summer.

The analysis is done by L’Equipe which says that there are many possibilities for Messi to join PSG, as they have analyzed four reasons, maybe Neymar’s presence and Messi’s wish to reunite with, and that they have already contacted Messi, as his contract expires in June. He could be Kylian Mbappe’s replacement.

The rumours of Lionel Messi’s link to PSG and Manchester City are in the air ever since the issues with the team and its management and also, administration at the end of the 19-20 season. The Argentine superstar is going to be a free agent this summer, and PSG is trying hard to rope him in, as Neymar, Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes, and also the team director, Leonardo has expressed their wish for Messi’s move to France.

L’Equipe’s report also states that Neymar already had a telephonic conversation with his former teammate and great friend Messi regarding his persuasion about his move to Paris.

Jordi Alba, who is one of the most important in the dressing room, was also asked about the news of the Argentine superstar in the press conference before the PSG match, and Alba stated that he wish Messi to stay at the club, and also reminded that the player would be the one to decide.

While Messi is yet to announce his decisions about his future as if he wants to move out of Barca, PSG will try their best to have them. Also, other teams may have the same target.

Supreme Court of India issues notices challenging Facebook & WhatsApp’s new Privacy Policy

On Monday, the honorable Supreme Court of India issued notices to the social media giant Facebook and the messaging application WhatsApp. The subject is the new privacy policy; the companies are trying to apply for the Indian users.

A Bench, headed by CJI SA Bobde, noted to the companies that users’ privacy must be protected and not be shared with the other companies. The new privacy policy in the queue is lower in standard than the policies applied to different continents like Europe. The Bench also asked the companies to respond within the next four weeks.

The senior advocate Shyam Divan highlighted that WhatsApp is differentiating between India and Europe’s users in terms of privacy standards. However, the messaging app authority already denied this allegation. Mr. Divan also alleged that WhatsApp already sold a huge amount of metadata to third parties.

You probably know that WhatsApp has already declared a delay of three months to impose its new privacy policy for the Indian users. Earlier, it was scheduled to become active on 8th February. A noticeable percentage of Indian users shifted to other alternatives like Telegram and Signal after the new privacy policy announcement.

From the company side, senior advocate Kapil Sibal said that Europe has their General Data Protection Regulations, where Indian doesn’t. “We will follow the law if Parliament makes it,”

The CJI said, “We are telling you what we heard and read. People think that if A sends a message to B and B to C, the circuit of messages is revealed to Facebook,”

The new benchmark of Intel Rocket Lake Iris Xe GPU is here, proves to be slower than AMD’s Renoir Vega GPU & on par with GeForce GT 1030

0

Only one month is left before the launch of the Intel Rocket Lake CPU, but the 11th gen chip is in rumors since last year. At the Chinese video portal Bilibili, the new benchmarks of the Rocket Lake Xe GPU have been leaked.

On the Core i5-11500 which has features like 6 cores and 12 threads, the Iris Xe GPU was tested. The base clock of the CPU is 2.70 GHz while the boost clock is not known. The CPU was tested on the MSI Z590-A PRO motherboard which has 32 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory.

The Intel Rocket Lake Iris Xe GPU contains 32 Execution units or 256 cores. The driver where it is tested is from early January 2021 and GPU-z is still not able to pick up the exact specifications or clocks for it. The Iris Xe GPU has gone through the tests within many eSports titles and also 3DMark Time Spy.

The chip scored about 1053 points in Time Spy within the graphics test which get a 53 percent increase over the UHD 630 graphics chip that comes with the Comet Lake Core i5-10400.

On par with NVIDIA’s GeForce GT 1030, the Intel Xe GPU comes with a score of 1100-1200 points, but it is very slow than AMD’s Renoir APUs featuring the Vega GPUs. In the same benchmark, the AMD Ryzen 7 4750G can score 1600 points.

It seems that the future launch drivers for the Rocket Lake Iris Xe GPUs from Intel could help to gain a boost in overall performance and carry the score nearly 1100-1200 points. Despite this, AMD’s Cezanne and Renoir GPUs will remain in a totally different league. Based on gaming performance, the Iris Xe GPU can offer over 60 FPS in CSGO at 1080p and around 140-150 FPS in League of Legends at 1080p.

Google and Facebook stand firm against Australia’s new law

0

The new legislation which the Australian government might pass stands to make the tech giants like Google and Facebook pay the media companies for the news contents.

But the new law does not sit well with the U.S-based tech giants, who are the two of the world’s biggest tech companies. To make matters extreme, Google is even threatening to shut down its search engine in the continent if the law is enacted.

Australian Treasurer Josh Frydenberg held talks with Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg and Google counterpart Sundar Pichai over the weekend. “We’re very close to some very significant commercial deals. We have made great progress.”

According to sources, parliament will consider the legislation from this week. It will give the internet giants an incentive to agree on compensation terms for news companies before the law is passed.

If Facebook and Google didn’t manage to strike a beneficial deal with the Australian administration, soon, Canada and the European Union will follow similar legislation.

Google has proposed that compensating publishers through its News Showcase product, under which it pays media outlets for curated content, rather than be bound by the legislation, will help both the company and the media outlets.

The Australian government is willing to let the technology companies avoid paying for news snippets if the media companies sign up to Google Showcase and Facebook News.

For further details, we will have to wait and see what new negotiations arise.

OFFICIAL: Marco Rose to take charge of Dortmund from next season

0

Things are shaking up in the Bundesliga. While Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of RB Leipzig superstar Dayot Upamecano, their arch rivals Borussia Dortmund have also confirmed the presence of a new face at the club from the start of the 21/22 season.

Borussia Monchengladbach head coach Marco Rose has been confirmed to be the man to take charge of the Black and Yellow Club next season. The news was confirmed by Rose’s current club in a statement released by them that read:

“We’ve held many talks on Marco’s future over the past few weeks,” Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl said.

“He has unfortunately decided to use the clause in his contract and would like to move to Borussia Dortmund in the summer.”

Dortmund will have to pay Gladbach a sum worth €5 million to get the Foals to release their head coach from his current deal with the club.

Marco Rose has been one of the best in the league since taking charge of Borussia Monchengladbach. His worth has been proven in guiding the club back to the Champions League in his first campaign in charge. He also managed to become the first manager to lead the team into the knockout stages of the Champions League this season, further solidifying his status as a top class coach.

Marco Rose OFFICIAL: Marco Rose to take charge of Dortmund from next season

Borussia Dortmund have had a terrible recent run of form, having won only one of their last five games and drawn another one, while losing all three points against Leverkusen, Monchengladbach and Freiburg.

Their stuttering displays under Edin Terzic have cast doubt on the team’s goals of securing Champions League football, with the Bundesliga title way too far in sight now that Dortmund are sixth, 15 points behind league leaders Bayern.

Pistons’ Mason Plumlee becomes the oldest player to score triple-double

0

On Sunday night, Mason Plumlee’s triple-double odyssey came to an end. In the Detroit Pistons’ 123-112 victory against the New Orleans Pelicans, Plumlee finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for his first career triple-double. With 2:30 remaining, Plumlee got his final rebound, sealing his milestone, helping the Pistons win back-to-back games for the first time this season.

At 30 years and 346 days, Plumlee became the oldest player to record his first career triple-double since Patrick Ewing got one at the age of 33 in 1996. It took him 557 career games to finally achieve this feat.

“I think you know when you have nine of something,” he said. “I was close enough, I had to tune in.”

Detroit had six players with a minimum of 15 points, and the Pelicans went 17 of 35 from beyond the three-pointer arc, 13 of 21 during the final three quarters. Josh Jackson led Detroit with 21 points, and Svi Mykhailiuk added 18 of his own. The Pelicans also lost their previous two games, conceding 25 3-pointers in each of those.

Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram scored 26 points apiece for New Orleans, but the Pelicans could not hold on after putting up an impressive start. The Pelicans shot 79% from the field in a 40-point first quarter. The Pelicans led by 10 after the first, but they scored merely 22 points in the second quarter and trailed by two at halftime. Detroit was winning 97-89 after the third quarter.

Plumlee also became the fourth Detroit Pistons center with a triple-double since 1965, joining Greg Monroe, Ben Wallace and Bob Lanier.

Standing at 6-feet-11, Plumlee is currently averaging 13.6 points (on 69.7 percent shooting from the field and 76.2 percent shooting from the free-throw line), 9.6 boards, 3.7 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.6 steals.

It has been a tough season for Detroit. They are second-to-last in the Eastern Conference at 8-19. Although, now, with wins in three of their previous four games, and Plumlee’s triple-double the Pelicans can finally see some good times.

Jesse Lingard claims he didn’t get a chance at Manchester United

0

Manchester United outcast Jesse Lingard secured a move away from Old Trafford in a bid to revive his career in the winter transfer window. He signed from West Ham United on loan till the end of this season.

As per reports, West Ham United have agreed to pay Lingard’s £100,000 weekly wages and a £1.5m loan fee. Manchester United have also negotiated a £500,000 bonus linked to West Ham qualifying for Europe as part of the 28-year-old’s loan deal. The deal until the end of the season could cost West Ham up to £4million.

Jesse Lingard feels that he didn’t get enough chances at Manchester United after the Coronavirus break despite being one of the fittest players.

via West Ham United’s twitter

According to a report by Mail Online, Jesse Lingard told BT Sport ahead of West Ham’s match with Sheffield United on Monday evening,: ‘At this age, it’s all about regular football and showing people what you can do.’

‘First and foremost I’m here to play, win and help the team, so hopefully, I can do that and we’ll see where we’re at come the end of the season. But it’s about playing with a smile on my face and enjoying my football and getting back to the old Jesse.’

‘Football is a lot of ups and downs, people go through different stages and it’s not just a straight road to the top. There are a lot of setbacks which most people don’t see and a lot of things that go on behind closed doors.’

‘During the lockdown I recapped my best moments playing football – the season under Jose (Mourinho) where I scored all of those goals and went to the World Cup and the season when Ole came in and I started well.’

‘So I started recapping a lot of games to see where I did well, getting that fire in my belly and drive again to go and kick on because it would have been easy for me to fall off and take the easy option out. But a person like me who’s been through a lot and knows the game, I can’t just give it up like and I’ll always go out with a fight.’

‘I came back one of the strongest and fittest (in the Man Utd squad) after the lockdown and I didn’t get my chance that I was waiting on but the whole time I was there and not playing I was doing extra training and keeping on top of my fitness for when the time was right.’

‘So for me it’s about working hard and staying dedicated and I went back to basics.’

Lingard has played in both the games for West Ham United after completing his loan move. He made the perfect debut, scoring twice in a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa. It was his first league goals since the final day of the 2019-20 season.
