According to the latest information, Microsoft is bringing some major changes to its Xbox consoles. The changes are referred to in respect to the console’s browser. According to sources, Microsoft has started testing its new chromium-based Edge browser for its Xbox consoles.
Reports indicate that the company’s Xbox testers in the Alpha Skip-Ahead group can now access the new Microsoft Edge on Xbox One or Xbox Series S / X consoles. Users have stated that a full mouse and keyboard support is still missing, but the browser works with an Xbox controller, and of course, it is a little buggy.
The inclusion of the chromium-powered browser is a great thing for users who wants to access websites through their consoles. To top it all, we can also expect the new edge browser to offer Stadia compatibility with its Chromium base.
Playing browser-based games was always a hassle on the Xbox’s browser, but the latest edge browser improves the compatibility with browser-based games. Also, compatibility with services like Skype or Discord through the web is improved.
This early test version comes with support for extensions, vertical tabs, Collections, and most Edge desktop features. Support for the existing version of Microsoft Edge on Windows desktops ends today, and the updated browser will arrive on all Xbox consoles soon.
Microsoft has already ended support for the existing legacy version of Microsoft Edge on Windows desktops.
BD Soft, exclusive country partner to Bitdefender, a leading global cybersecurity company protecting over 500 million systems worldwide, today launched a new cloud-based dedicated Endpoint Detection and response (EDR) solution, designed to help enterprise customers and managed service providers (MSPs) to improve the ability to detect and eradicate threats as they occur and strengthen overall resiliency against cyberattacks.

Having made its debut at the CES 2021 and being available worldwide, ASUS has finally announced its ultra-portable gaming laptop in India.
With the TUF Dash F15 Gaming Laptop, Asus has taken a unique advantage with Intel. As we know Intel is limited to 4 cores and 8 threads on its 11th Gen laptops but this does enable them to clock at high boost clock speeds of over 5GHz on laptops, thanks to the 10nm SuperFin transistors.
All this aside, what Asus has done is used these efficient Tiger Lake-H gaming processors on laptops to make them both thin & light and provide great gaming performance without compromising on battery life. So, the laptop has been named the new Asus TUF Gaming Dash F15.

The all-new TUF Dash F15 gaming laptop is engineered to expand every gamer’s repertoire. Its super-slim design is lightweight and easy to carry, so it is ideal for on-the-go or around-the-house use. Up to an 11th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and a GeForce RTX 3070 laptop GPU blitz through games with power to spare for serious work. The Dash F15 is topped off with a range of premium features that enhance its everyday user experience for gaming, entertainment, and more.
A gaming panel with up to a 240 Hz refresh rate on the Dash F15 offers gamers the same edge as esports athletes, with a 3 ms response time that reduces motion blur to make fast-paced target tracking more precise. When gamers want to do more, a versatile Thunderbolt 4 port connects to docks to external GPUs. An expansive battery offers up to 16.6 hours of video playback, so gamers can unplug and unwind anywhere and later reload with convenient USB-C charging.
Advanced cooling enables the Dash F15 to fit top-tier processors in a super-slim form factor. A substantial heat spreader and five copper heat pipes distribute thermal energy while dual fans channel air through four outlets that expel heat faster and with less noise than typical ultraslim designs.
The N-Blade fans are specially sculpted to move more air, and these are made from a special liquid crystal polymer that makes enough space to fit 83 blades per fan and still ensure that each blade is strong enough to hold up at high RPMs.
The self-cleaning cooling module maintains long-term stability and performance by preventing build-up on critical components. Updated anti-dust tunnels are shorter to create more space for airflow around the fan while still redirecting particles away from crucial hardware.
Voice chat is crystal clear due to new Two-Way AI Noise-Cancelation technology. This advanced technology removes a broad range of unwanted background noise from both input and output audio, meaning that both the user’s voice and incoming communications are fuzz-free.
This fresh addition to the TUF Gaming portfolio takes military-grade durability to ultrathin new dimensions. Resilience against everything from everyday knocks and bumps to extreme temperatures lets users work and play wherever they want, worry-free. Whether charging to the frontlines of a favorite first-person shooter or adventuring in the great urban jungle, the Dash is a reliable ally for gamers to have by their side.
Commenting on the launch, Arnold Su, Business Head, Consumer and Gaming PC, System Business Group, ASUS India, stated, “We at ASUS aim at empowering our consumers with products that boost their productivity while uplifting their performance with industry-leading technologies. Our TUF Gaming series resonates this synergy and is designed to augment the gaming experience by making it accessible to all. Powered with 11th Gen Intel® Core processors, TUF Dash F15 is all set to create new experiences and replicate the success of the series by creating new milestones in the India market. We are attuned with evolving consumer requirements and have them at the very core of our product development strategy, and with our latest offering we further aim at elevating their gaming experience.”
Rahul Malhotra, Director – Consumer Sales, Intel India said, “Intel’s new line of 11th Gen Intel Core H-series mobile processors pushes the limits of what is possible for enthusiast-level gaming in ultraportable form factors. This combination of performance and sleek design is built for anyone who needs a laptop that can go anywhere and do everything.

Huawei is willing to partner with an Indian company in 5G equipment manufacturing, including the transfer of technology, to relieve any security concerns that India may have, its CEO of India David Li said. He called on the government to provide a “level playing field.”
“We are now very much open and willing to partner with a local company. We are looking for a local partner and for commercial reasons, we don’t want to disclose any details,” Li told Economic Times in his first media interview since taking over in May. “We can bring our software or hardware modules and enable a (local) partner to manufacture equipment.”
Li called on the Indian government to clear the air of uncertainty looming large over Huawei’s participation in the 5G trials and deployment. He asked the Indian government to consider its “clean” record of the last 20 years before arriving at a decision.
“It is uncertain now… The government wants to address security concerns, but that should be based on facts and global standards,” Li said. “We hope the Indian government will give us a level playing field to participate in the (5G) trials.”
Allegations of involvement in snooping on behalf of the Chinese government looms over the Chinese company. The Indian government has been informally nudging state-run telcos and even private ones to stop sourcing equipment from China, amid border tensions with its neighbor, citing national security. Huawei has denied any wrongdoing while there has been no official communication barring Chinese vendors so far by the Indian government.
The government, however, is preparing a list of “trusted sources” under the National Security Directive for the supply of telecom network equipment that experts believe is aimed towards keeping Huawei and Chinese rival ZTE out of India’s 5G deployment. The US and the UK have taken similar steps to bar the Chinese from critical infrastructure.
When asked if the company has been consulted as part of the process to identify trusted vendors, Li said, “Our stance is communicated via our customers, industry and directly. I think giving operators the choice of the best technologies and competitive advantages will benefit everybody.”
Huawei has opened up test labs in the UK and Brussels and is open to doing so in India but only if others are asked to do so as well.
“If the government says everyone can contribute towards setting up a lab, we’re ready to contribute,” he said. “Otherwise, if they ask us alone, it’s very, very costly. Also, there shouldn’t be any kind of discrimination.”

The Chinese company said that it has so far invested $170 million toward its research and development center in Bengaluru out of the total $2 billion in India. Due to low demand from Indian telcos, the company’s manufacturing facility in Chennai stopped production a few years ago.
“We will continue to invest for sure. Internally, we are looking at focussing heavily on R&D. The R&D and the services hold a much higher priority than the manufacturing segment. For the manufacturing bit, we will make the (investment) decisions as long as there is volume,” the top executive said.
Li added that Huawei has been getting deals from Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) and the company is hopeful of winning new business from both telecom operators this year.
An ET report last week stated that Airtel gave a wireline expansion contract to Huawei worth Rs 300 crore for its National Long-Distance (NLD) network.
Huawei’s rivals for the Indian market include Ericsson and Nokia from Europe, South Korea’s Samsung, and Chinese rival ZTE. It currently supplies gear to Bharti Airtel and Vi for some of their circles. But it has lost some business from Airtel due to the uncertainty surrounding it.
An announcement came from Ubisoft that the multiplayer mode of Watch Dogs: Legion has been delayed for an unspecified time on PC. Watch Dogs: Legion online going live on March 9. “We’ve identified an issue in the PC version that can cause the game to crash for players with certain GPUs,” the development team said in a statement on Twitter. “In the meantime,” the statement continues, “we’ve made the decision to wait to launch the PC version until this is fixed. We will communicate the new launch date as soon as possible.”
Ubisoft also informed that while the console version is releasing on March 9, it is going to come without the Tactical Op mode. This mode is facing some problems with crashes, now they are postponing it until March 23. This announcement is made just after the announcement that the game mode was releasing in March.
Ubisoft stated, “We’ve identified an issue in the PC version that can cause the game to crash for players with certain GPUs. The team is working on fixing the issue as quickly as possible. And in the meantime, we’ve made the decision to wait to launch the PC version until this is fixed. We will communicate the new launch date as soon as possible.”
“We have also identified an issue that can cause the game to crash during the Tactical Op. Therefore we have made the decision to launch it on Xbox, PlayStation, and Stadia on March 23. PlayStation 4/ 5 will have limited in-game text chat at launch, and we are working on a fix for this, which will be coming on March 23 as well. We are committed to delivering the best experience to all players and are working diligently to address the issues outlined above. We appreciate your patience and understanding.”
This delay could make the Watch Dogs: Legion be a less ideal experience for the players at the launch. So, let’s see, how long the PC players have to wait to play Watch Dogs: Legion with their friends in multiplayer mode.
We all know that graphics giants Nvidia and AMD have been facing a supply shortage of their cards since the mid-quarter of 2020. The companies believe that they will solve the issues with their supplies by the end of 2021. However, a recent research report posted by Jon Peddie reveals that Nvidia, despite being crippled by supply constraints, managed to ship more discrete graphics cards than AMD.
The report researched the GPU market share statistics for the fourth quarter of 2020 of the green team, which showed that despite ongoing stock/availability issues which have affected all hardware launches since the beginning of 2020, Nvidia still performed well.
The research also indicates that the installed/shipped GPU base will increase to 419 million units during 2020-2025, an understandable estimation given the increasing popularity of gaming. Though the PC market worldwide was crippled during the pandemic, it shows the signs of improving, and overall GPU shipments increased by 20.5% from the previous quarter.
Coming back to the research report, Intel’s shipment of chips increased by 20.5%, AMD’s shipments increased by 6.4% while NVIDIA saw a decline of 7.3%. Here are the highlights from the report:
AMD’s overall unit shipments increased by 6.4% quarter-to-quarter, Intel’s total shipments rose by 33.2% from the last quarter, and Nvidia’s decreased by -7.3%.
The GPU’s overall attach rate (which includes integrated and discrete GPUs, desktop, notebook, and workstations) to PCs for the quarter was
113%, down -9.2% from last quarter.
The overall PC market increased by 30.25% quarter-to-quarter and increased 35.76% year-to-year.
Desktop graphics add-in boards (AIBs that use discrete GPUs) decreased by -3.90% from the last quarter.
Q4’20 saw an increase in tablet shipments from last quarter.
But, when focusing on the discrete graphics segment, the research found that NVIDIA GeForce GPUs account for 82% of the overall discrete GPU market share while AMD Radeon graphics cards account for 18%.
No matter how you look at it, it is still a huge difference between the two rivals. Currently, both are affected by supply constraints, but both have assured their customers that the situation will improve soon.

PayPal Holdings Inc. announced on March 8 that it would acquire the cryptocurrency firm Curv, a leading provider of cloud-based infrastructure for digital asset security, as PayPal seeks to beef up its talent pool for handling digital currencies.
In October last year, PayPal announced its commitment to help shape the role that digital currencies will play in the future of financial services and commerce. To provide innovation and drive sustained growth in this area, the company recently created a business unit focused on specific things like blockchain, crypto, and digital currencies. Curv will join the newly formed group, with its strong team of 40 members adding technical expertise to PayPal.
“The acquisition of Curv is part of our effort to invest in the talent and technology to realize our vision for a more inclusive financial system,” Jose Fernandez da Ponte, PayPal’s vice president and general manager, blockchain, crypto, and digital currencies, said in the statement, according to Bloomberg. “During our conversations with Curv’s team, we’ve been impressed by their technical talent, entrepreneurial spirit, and the thinking behind the technology they’ve built.”
Based in Tel Aviv, Israel, Curv was founded in 2018 by CEO Itay Malinger and CTO Dan Yadlin.
“As a pioneer in security infrastructure for digital assets, Curv is proud to be recognized as an innovator and trusted partner to leading financial institutions around the world,” said Malinger, according to the official press release. “Now, as the adoption of digital assets accelerates, we feel there’s no better home than PayPal to continue our journey of innovation. We’re excited to join PayPal in expanding the role these assets play in the global economy.”
Last year, Curv announced that, in total funding, it had raised $30 million from investors including CommerzVentures, Coinbase Ventures, and Digital Currency Group.
PayPal said it expects to complete the acquisition by midyear. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
