TACHY Vortex 15 to come with AMD Ryzen 5000H & NVIDIA RTX 30 series combo

In the upcoming CES 2021 event, both AMDs Ryzen 5000 mobility series and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 30 series cards will be unveiled, and we are anxiously waiting for the new modules.

Recently, a new entrant manufacturer in a gaming laptop, TACHY, teased its upcoming gaming laptop. The device, dubbed, Vortex 15 comes powered by AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800H Zen 3 CPU and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3060 6 GB Max-P graphics card.

The combination is nothing sort of a beast, and reports indicate that Vortex 15 is one of the first laptops from TACHY to be making a formal entry in the gaming laptop segment. The manufacturer will make an official introduction of the device at CES 2021.

For now, we don’t know many details about the device. Still, TACHY has listed that its gaming laptop will have Ryzen 7 5800H CPU from AMD, the GeForce RTX 3060 Max-P mobility graphics card, a 15.6″ 1080p display with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 16 GB of DDR4 memory, 1 TB of NVMe (PCIe 3.0) SSD storage and an attractive price of $1099.99 US.

The laptop will also have WiFi 6 (Gig+Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax) and USB Type-C charging. The Vortex 15 is said to offer over 12 hours of battery life.

SMIC gains a rise in their share value

Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) has been making gains in the semiconductor market slowly but surely. Though the company suffered from the US imposed restrictions from using the countries’ technologies, SMIC faced several problems in their chip development. But recent gains of the company indicates that it is indeed making progress.

According to sources, SMIC’s shares gained during trading in Hong Kong after closing slightly lower over Friday’s price. The new gains can be attributed to its Co-CEO, Mr. Liang Mong Song, who was still performing duties under his company’s role.

Last year in December, when Mr. Liang announced his surprise resignment from the company’s board, it caused a huge loss for its share value. Not to mention that the United States government added the company to the Department of Commerce’s Entity List.

Later on, the company announced that the US Commerce Department is specifically targeting the manufacture of semiconductors on the 10nm and lower process nodes. The US is not only preventing the Chinese chipmaker from securing access to technologies required for 10nm and smaller chips, but it is also restricting their ability to secure extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography technology.

EUV is extremely crucial for producing chips using 10nm and fewer size nodes; they are critical when it comes to reducing transistor size due to the vastly smaller wavelength of ultraviolet light.

As the case, SMIC’s Asian competitors like TSMC and Samsung Foundry are in the works of procuring EUV for the production of their chipsets. If SMIC will be able to procure some for them remains to be seen.

ZeniMax files trademark for something called “Hi-Fi Rush”

The parent company of Bethesda, ZeniMax has done a trademark application fill-up, which could be a new game.

It is reported that ZeniMax has filed a trademark for an unknown thing called “Hi-Fi Rush” on 21st December 2020. The statement suggests there is a chance that it will be a mobile application software with online capabilities. There is no confirmation about what kind of game it might be, even it’s a game or not.

ZeniMax hasn’t come up with any official announcement of the ‘Hi-Fi Rush’ project. The trademark filings are done several times for future release. For example, in 2013, ZeniMax filed a trademark application for Starfield, and the game was announced later at E3 in 2018.

It seems that 2020 will be a very busy year for ZeniMax/Bethesda because the deal could happen with Microsoft to acquire the company in the 2nd half of Microsoft’s fiscal year. After that, we can expect some proper news about the company’s future pipeline, including Starfield, The Elder Scrolls VI, and maybe something else that is now under development.

Phil Spencer, Xbox boss, said that he is not able to talk about the deal with Bethesda before the official agreements. According to some reports, the deal is about $7.5 billion between the two companies. If it happens then, it will be the second-largest acquisition in gaming history after the $8.6 billion deal of Tencent acquiring Supercell.

Samsung releases 2 new videos ahead of CES 2021

CES 2021 will start globally on 11th January. The event will see the world’s biggest manufacturers displaying their new products which range from laptops, smartphones, and other hardware modules. Many are waiting in anticipation as to what this year’s event will bring.

As we all know, due to the current global situation the possibility of large-scale gathering has been nullified. Thus, the biggest IT event of the year will be conducted online. Multiple manufacturers are waiting to showcase their products on the virtual platform.

According to sources, Samsung Electronics has released two trailers ahead of its presentations at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021 that highlight its efforts to create a “Better Normal for All”.

In the first video above, we can see the Special Research Team at Samsung in an upbeat yet enigmatic manner. The second video below, introduces a mysterious silhouette revealed to be Sebastian Seung, President, and Head of Samsung Research, and a speaker at Samsung’s CES 2021 press conference.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool has been far from the best we saw last season. They suffered another shock defeat yesterday to the hands of Southampton.

Roy Keane has termed the current Liverpool team as ‘sloppy’ and thinks there are five to six teams who will challenge for the Premier League title. But he is still backing the Reds to edge the title.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Super Sunday: “There’s a few [clubs which would challenge for the title]. Liverpool are the strongest, they’ve been slacking off, a bit sloppy. United have sorted out their home form. Tottenham had a good home win yesterday. You can’t write Man City off.”

“We’ve criticised them recently because they’ve set such high standards over the years. But there are five to six teams who can challenge.”

“[Manchester United], if they keep winning football matches. We were really critical at the start of the season. Their home form was so bad, it was shocking. Some of their performances and results.”

“But away from home, they were fantastic. Even their last few victories, a bit of luck – penalty against Villa, injury-time winner against Wolves. They’ll be getting confidence and belief they can at least challenge Liverpool.”

He further added: “I’m still sticking with Liverpool. I think United are doing really well. It’s the most exciting league we’ve had for years. I think Liverpool are just going to edge City.”

Manchester City are now up to the fifth position after an impressive 3-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. More interestingly, they still have a game in hand on league leaders Liverpool, so they can close the gap a bit more.

Chelsea were one of the sides who were expected to challenge for the Premier League title this season after they spent over £250million in the summer. But they are now languishing at the eighth position after their poor form continued on Sunday against Manchester City.

Keane was highly critical of Chelsea’s performance and insisted Lampard will be concerned by their recent slump in form.

He said: “What will probably frustrate him is for the money they’ve spent they don’t look any stronger than they did last season. The bit I was scratching my head at is when players don’t run back or put a tackle in. “

“Even Kante making a mistake for the third goal. Players not sprinting back, I really don’t get that. Frank will be concerned. He’s not going to throw players under the bus. He must be concerned by what he saw today. The attacking players, there was a lack of energy.”

“When you’re losing 3-0 and you’re not putting in tackles. You’ve got senior players out there. Thiago Silva, Kante, how they didn’t sort it out and start pulling people in when they’re under pressure. That would be the big concern for me.”

SC East Bengal, previously known as, simply East Bengal, is one of the most historic clubs of India. The club was founded on 1st August 1920. The 100 years old club used to play in I-League until the last season.

At the start of the 2020-21 season, they brought new investors on board, Shree Cement and made their entry into the top-flight of Indian football, Indian Super League.

SC East Bengal was suffering in their initial matches as they went on a winless run for the first 7 matches. Finally, in their 8th ISL match against Odisha FC, they got their first win of the ISL history. They beat Odisha by 3-1.

There is absolutely no doubt that this veteran tops this list. Chris Paul has always been a pass-first point guard. He displayed his passing skills right from his rookie season when he averaged 7.8 assists in his first season itself. This year he has joined the young team of Phoenix. He continues to be a mentor figure for young players like Devin Booker and De’Andre Ayton. He is 7th on NBA’s all-time Assists leaders with a whopping 9,711 and counting assists in his 16 NBA seasons. Here’s a list of the Top 10 Electric Vehicles coming to India.

1. Tesla Model 3

Tesla claims an efficiency of 423km, 568km and 507km for the Standard Plus, Long Range and Performance variants of the Model 3, respectively. The top-spec Performance variant goes from 0 to 97 kmph in 3.1 seconds with a top speed of 261 kmph. Standard Plus variant is likely going to be the model offered in India, while the other two could be introduced later.

2. TATA Altroz EV

Price: Rs. 14.00 Lakh

Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020, the Tata Altroz EV, receives mostly the same features as the standard Altroz and utilises the carmaker’s new Ziptron powertrain that made its debut in the Nexon EV. The car delivers a driving range of 300km on a single charge as it draws from an IP67-rated dust and water-proof battery pack. 

3. Haima Bird Electric EV1

Also unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020, the Haima Bird Electric EV1 hatchback is known as the Haima E1 in China. It comes in two variants with a range of 200km and 300km and features a silhouette similar to hatchbacks like the WagonR. Out of a 20.42kWh battery pack its electric motor produces torque figures of 95Nm, to make the EV receive a top speed of 120kmph. 

4. Audi E-Tron

Price: Rs. 1.50 Crore

Expected launch date: February 2021

The Audi e-tron sold in India will be the same as the one sold overseas and will be brought to the country through the CBU route. Powered by two electric motors that drive all four wheels, the e-tron can do 0-100kmph in 6.6 seconds. The costliest EV in our list also has a Boost mode where power figures go up to 408PS and it goes 0-100kmph in 5.7 seconds. In a full charge the EV is capable of doing 400kms as it’s powered by a 95kWH battery pack.

5. BMW i3 

Price: Rs. 1.00 Crore

The BMW i3 was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Weighing in at 1,195 kilos, the fully electric hatchback is lighter than most vehicles in its segment. The EV’s motive power comes from a battery and motor combination that has a range of between 128 and 145 kilometres, when fully charged. It is capable of attaining a top speed of 150 kmph and going from 0 to 100kmph in 7.2 seconds.

6. Tesla Model S

Price: Rs. 1.50 Crore

The are three variants on offer – 75D, 100D and the top-spec with the performance motor, P100D. The 75D comes with a 75 kWh battery pack, a range of up to 489km, top speed of 225kmph and 0-100kmph in 4.2 seconds. The figures for the 100D, stand at 100 kWh, 632km, 250kmph (limited) and 0-100kmph in 4.1 seconds. The performance motor in the P100D gives it a range of 613km, top speed of 250kmph and complete the sprint to 100kmph is just 2.5 seconds with the same 100 kWh battery pack.

7. Jaguar I-Pace

Price: Rs. 1.00 Crore

Jaguar India’s first all-electric SUV, the I-Pace will be powered by two electric motors producing 400PS, backed up by a 90kWh lithium-ion battery. It will go from 0-100kmph in 4.8 seconds and come in three variants: S, SE and HSE.  Jaguar India has already commenced pre-booking and is expected to launch the I-Pace in the coming weeks with deliveries likely to begin from March 2021.

8. Porsche Taycan

The much-anticipated all-electric Porsche Taycan sedan comes in two versions — Turbo and Turbo S. According to ZigWhrrls, “the Turbo S puts out a solid 751PS (with overboost) of power and an earth-twisting 1049Nm of torque while the Turbo produces 670PS (with overboost) and an equally impressive 850Nm.” The range ffered by Turbo is 450km while the Turbo S is good for 402km. The EV can also make use of an 800 volt charging architecture that allows for the battery charge from 5 to 80 percent in under 23 minutes. 

9. ORA iQ

Price: Rs. 20.00 Lakh

The Chinese car manufacturer Great Wall Motors has produced the ORA iQ, which is a crossover under its EV brand, ORA since 2018. With a battery capacity of 46.57 kWh, the ORA iQ goes from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.7 seconds and reaches a maximum of 150 km/h. It develops 163 HP at 280 Nm of maximum torque.

10. TATA EVision Electric

Price: Rs. 25.00 Lakh

Tata unveiled a brand new electric concept sedan, the EVision at the Geneva Motor Show. The only technical information we have been able to collect is that the concept features two motors, one on each axle which will make this sedan an AWD. With a range of 350-420km on a single charge, it will feature both slow AC charging and fast DC charging. The EVision will have a top speed of 200kmph and will reach 0-100kmph within 7 seconds.

This is because of the built-in Chromecast feature present in these applications which is generally at the top-right or the bottom-right corner. For reference, you can see the image below.

2. After tapping on the Chromecast feature button, click on the Android TV. After a few seconds, your iPhone screen will cast on Android TV. This feature backs both sound output and landscape mode, thus making your experience even more pleasant.

Without Chromecast-supported apps

  1. If Chromecast-supported applications are not present, you don’t need to worry. After just doing one extra step, you will be able to cast your iPhone screen on Android TV. You will be required to install ApowerMirror app on your iPhone and Android TV. This third-party application is free to download and only has in-app purchases. ApowerMirror app will make your Android TV AirPlay-compatible.
  2. Open the installed application on both your devices, iPhone and Android TV. The app will ask for all the necessary permissions. Open the Control Center option on your smartphone and click on “Screen Mirroring”. You will see your Android TV name along with “Apowersoft”. Click on that and your iPhone screen will be cast on Android TV.

3. Just like earlier, it will back sound output, landscape mode and zoom in/out feature. The app screen which is on your iPhone will be displayed on the connected Android TV.

4. There might be a case that you experience a lag. To deal with it, open ApowerMirror application on your Android TV. Click on settings and then on general settings. Tap on AirPlay resolution and choose 720P. This will remove any kind of lag if you are experiencing any.
