According to sources, NVIDIA plans to rebrand the GeForce RTX 3060 as the GeForce RTX 3060 Ultra. It is stated that the Ultra tier is spaced above the Ti and SUPER variants. Another interesting thing about the card is that it will feature a 2.7 slot design along with a large aluminum shroud with three massive fans that come with 0dB technology. It might have either a single 8-pin or a dual 8-pin connector configuration and the display outputs include a single HDMI and 3 DisplayPort outputs.

Tender for new IPL teams will be out in April with a base price of 1500Cr

BCCI has already announced that 2 new teams will be added to the Indian Premier League from 2022. As per some reports, the tenders for the new IPL teams are likely to be released by April and the base price will be 1500 Cr.

The tender will be released for 8 to 10 cities. Ahmedabad, Pune, Lucknow, Kanpur, Guwahati, Indore, Kochi, Raipur, and Trivandrum will be cities.

As per some sources, Ahmedabad is the front runner for one of the IPL teams. Adani Group owned by Gautam Adani will get an IPL team.

For the second slot, there will be a fight. But Sanjeev Goenka is the front runner for that slot. Sanjeev Goenka had the past experience of owning an IPL team. He was the owner of Rising Pune Supergiants for two years.

He will have a tough fight from Guwahati as Assam Cricket Association secretary Devajit Lon Saikia has confirmed that the city of Guwahati will be interested to own the IPL team.

A BCCI official told, “Nothing has been officially discussed about the base price as yet. But during BCCI AGM we discussed the matter informally. Ownership of the IPL team is now a very prized asset and we feel the base price for the new IPL team will be nothing less than 1500 Cr or probably more.”

“IPL GC will decide the base price and tender timelines. In 2018, JSW took 50% of Delhi Capitals (At that time Delhi Daredevils) at a valuation of 1100 Cr. We know the valuation for the teams is increasing with every edition. Moreover our new Media Rights tender is due, it will further enhance the valuation for teams. So base price of 1500-1600 cr is not far fetched.”- he added.

A look back at Arsenal vs Manchester United

0

Arsenal and Manchester United are two of the oldest clubs in England, and share as many as 114 trophies between each other. While the history between them might not be as violent as the heat between United and Leeds, or United and Liverpool, there is a fair deal of competition in it’s past that made the encounter something special.

The fixture gained heat in the late 90s when Arsene Wenger and Alex Ferguson were managing their respective clubs. While Ferguson managed to win the treble with Manchester United, the years to come would see the London club rise as one of the best teams the Premier League has ever seen, eventually turning out to be the Invincibles that won the Premier League title without losing a game.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger during the Barclays Premiership match at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Few clubs could compare to Manchester United and Arsenal in 1996-2004 with both teams going at it much like Liverpool and Manchester City in the 21st century.

The matches between the two clubs often turned violent, and raucous reactions from fans only added fuel to the fire of the fixture that was indeed the battle of two of the greatest teams in the Premier League under their greatest ever managers.

https://youtu.be/gKgCSFZALkE

The fixture gained even more weight when Manchester United became the ones to finally kill off the Arsenal Invincibles, albeit in controversial circumstances. United later went on to hand Arsenal one of their worst defeats ever, beating them 8-2 at the Old Trafford in 2011.

Arsenal have managed to win the fixture 85 times, while United have managed to get the better of the Gunners 97 times. The two teams have ended things on the pitch with scores level 52 times. Ryan Giggs has made the most number of appearances in the fixture, with 50. United legend Wayne Rooney has the most number of goals in the derby, with 12.

40 COVID-19 cases found in PL this past week; play will still continue amidst games being postponed

0

The second wave of the mutant COVID-19 virus is now making its impact felt in the Premier League as well, with 40 positive cases being reported from 2295 tests being conducted in the last week.

Manchester City’s game against Everton was called off due to a rapid number of COVID-19 positive results being found in the squad. Elsewhere, Fulham’s matches against Burnley and Tottenham were also called off due to a number of cases being found in the squad of the Cottagers.

The Premier League said in a statement: ‘With low numbers of positive tests across the overwhelming majority of clubs, the League continues to have confidence in its COVID-19 protocols, fully backed by the Government, to enable fixtures to be played as scheduled. Players or club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate for a period of 10 days.’

Protocols have been violated by various Premier League players, with the holiday season seeing players from multiple teams engage in parties on New Year’s. Fans have been quick to criticise them owing to their visibility and their responsibilities as people of status and privilege.

With the number of cases on the rise once again, it is fair to assume that matches will continue to be suspended in the weeks to come. Moreover, football clubs are still recovering from the financial hit they took from the first lockdown last year, and many have not even come close to stabilising.

Players must exercise caution and be careful regarding the safety measures not only to avoid the disease themselves, but also for the sake of the people around them which include their families and the people in the squad.

A look at the history behind the Pennines Derby

0

Up until their most recent meeting in the Premier League, it was a decade and a half before Manchester United and Leeds United last faced off on the pitch. Their bad-blood dates back many, many years and can also be attributed to reasons completely unrelated to football.

The rivalry can be traced back as far as the 15th century, in England during the War of the Roses. The Yorkshire club play in white, resembling the white rose, while Manchester United play in red to symbolise the red rose, coming out of Lancashire.

However, for those unwilling to accept that a football rivalry can be traced back five centuries, the Industrial Revolution can act as the beginning. In the 18th and 19th century, Manchester and Leeds were at loggerheads, with the former producing cotton goods and the latter, wool.

In the 1960s, Don Revie was appointed as the manager of Leeds and he spent an entire day at the Old Trafford learning management from the United manager, Matt Busby.

The two went at it almost every season before Leeds went down to the second division in the 1980s, but came back up again. Hostility dominated the fixture, with hooliganism predominant in the matches pitting the two clubs against each other.

Leeds were once the top dogs in the Premier League, but the rise of Alex Ferguson made it difficult for the Yorkshire club to keep up with their rivals. United have gotten the better of their rivals 48 times, while Leeds have managed to win the derby 27 times. The two teams have shared the spoils on 35 occasions.

Bobby Charlton holds the record for the most appearances in the Pennines Derby, as well as the highest number of goals scored with 9 in the fixture.
