Top 5 youngsters to watch in the U-21 European Championship

0

The international break is upon us, and with that, we take a different look at the status quo by giving some very well deserved attention to the Under-21 European Championship candidates and the top five players to look out for in it.

5. Odsonne Edouard – France

The SFWA Footballer of the Year for 2019/20, Edouard has become a prolific goalscorer for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and has scored 83 goals in just 162 appearances for the Scottish side, winning three league titles in the process. He will be one of the oldest in the tournament at 23 but qualified under the age limit when the qualifiers began.

4. Myron Boadu – Netherlands

Boadu has been making a mark with AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie and has scored 12 goals to date for the Dutch club this season. This has been a great follow up to his 14 goals and 6 assists last season, and this has made Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Arsenal take notice of the player and potentially add him to their transfer shortlist.

3. Noni Madueke – England

Another Englishman who plays abroad, Madueke left Tottenham Hotspur for PSV Eindhoven and has broken through into the first team for good this season, scoring seven and assisting four across 19 appearances for the club of which, only starting six games all season. This relatively unknown teenager will surely be one to watch alongside the star-studded England squad.

2. Youssoufa Moukoko – Germany

The Dortmund starlet will be one of the focal points of the tournament, with the records for the youngest Bundesliga and Champions League player, as well as the youngest Bundesliga player to score a goal all belonging to the 16-year-old sensation. He will also become the youngest player to represent Germany’s U-21 side.

1. Eduardo Camavinga- France

The Rennes midfielder has been the subject of interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain and is heralded as one of the most talented teenagers in the world. Operating as a deep-lying playmaker, Camavinga has the ability to play in different roles too, which only add to his value as a player.

Erling Haaland and Marcus Rashford are the most valuable players in the world in 2021

0

In the most recent release by the CIES Football Observatory, Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland and Manchester United star Marcus Rashford have been given the title of the most expensive players on the planet, with their market value being in the region of €150-€200 million.

The CIES Football Observatory uses a separate set of formulas to determine the value of football players in the modern transfer market in a method that also helps them compare the individual values to that of the squad that they play for.

While Rashford makes for 14.8% of the total squad value of the Red Devils, Haaland is a much bigger asset to Borussia Dortmund at 21.5% of the squad value. However, it can also be said that one would not need the observatory findings to note the importance of Haaland to Dortmund.

Haaland recently became the youngest player to score 20 goals in the Champions League and is well on his way to becoming the youngest to score 25 goals as well, leaving the record previously set by Kylian Mbappe behind.

Kylian Mbappe’s value is around £103-£130 million and is in the same bracket as Bukayo Saka of Arsenal. Atletico Madrid’s João Felix and Manchester City’s Phil Foden are also in the same transfer fee range and are all the most valuable players for their respective clubs.

The next price bracket of £77-£103 million includes seven prolific players, which includes Harry Kane, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Timo Werner, Alphonso Davies, Frenkie de Jong, Matthijs De Ligt and Lautaro Martinez.

India took the lead in the ODI series against England by beating the visitors by 66 runs in the first ODI.

England won the toss elected to bowl first. Indian batsmen did a beautiful job to set the target of 318 runs for the win. Shikhar Dhawan [98 of 106], Virat Kohli [56 of 60] set the innings for India which was ended by a blistering knock from KL Rahul [62 not out of 43] and Krunal Pandya [58 not out of 31]. Gareth Bale wants to go back to Real Madrid after Tottenham Hotspur loan spell

Gareth Bale was signed by Real Madrid in a record transfer fee at that time. He was signed for around €100m from Tottenham Hotspur. He has had many ups and downs in his Real Madrid career.

Bale helped the Madrid club to win four Champions League titles and two La Liga trophies, among other trophies. His Copa del Rey final goal against Barcelona and his bicycle kick goal against Liverpool in the 2018 Champions League final will be etched in the memory of fans forever.

But, Bale has often been on the sidelines due to his prone to injury nature. After Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus in 2018, it was expected that Bale would lead from the front, but things went in the opposite direction. He fell out of favour of Zidane and was sent out on loan to his former club Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Real Madrid were hoping that they could finally get Bale’s wages off their book but Bale has made a surprising statement. The European Championship is just around the corner after the 2020-21 season finishes. So, Bale wants to return to Real Madrid after the Euros.

Gareth Bale said: “It’s no distraction for me coming into the Euros.”

“The original plan was only to do a season at Spurs, then after the Euros I’ll still have a year left at Madrid and my plan is to go back. That’s as far as I’ve planned to be honest.”

“Over the last few years, this is probably the most match fitness I’ve had. I’m feeling fresh and ready to go.”

“I always think when things aren’t going too well at a club, it’s nice to get away, especially mentally get away from the club environment. Definitely, it can be a benefit. We focus on these games for Wales, which are very important for us. We forget club life and concentrate on this.”

Manchester United Away Kit for the 2021-22 season has been revealed

0

We have finally come to that part of the year, where we see a plethora of rumoured jerseys for the upcoming season. It has been a recent trend that the clubs have gone back to their retro and vintage jerseys.

Footy Headlines are one of the trusted sources in this department. They have now revealed the exclusive first look of the Manchester United 2021-22 Away Kit.

Adidas are the kit manufacturers of Manchester United but the Premier League club has signed a new deal with TeamViewer as their main sponsor. So it remains to be seen how the new logo of TeamViewer is put in the jersey front.

Adidas have been inspired by the Manchester United away shirt donned from between 1991 to 1993. Although, this jersey is meant to have a more zig-zag type design on the front

The classic Adidas Trefoil logo was used between 1971 and 1991, after that it was replaced by the design that is in use until today. Although, it’s still used extensively in the Adidas Originals range, but the new design is used everywhere else. The Manchester United 2021-22 away jersey could be the first major football shirt to use the classic Adidas Trefoil logo since the early 1990s.
