TCL OLED TVs might arrive with a more affordable technology: Reports

0

TCL has announced recently that the company will officially start making its business in making OLED TVs. However, it has time to launch the TCL OLED TVs for the market as those are expected to arrive sometime in 2023. So, we’re almost two years ahead of getting the premium OLED TVs from TCL. But we need to address that very point that a better display comes with a higher price. So, it is important for the manufacturer to make those OLED TVs affordable for most of its buyers. So, the good thing is that TCL might use a new technology this time in its OLED TVs to make them more affordable.

In the general case, an OLED TV is pretty expensive if we compare it to a normal LCD or LED TV. When OLED TVs first hit the market, the price range of those TVs was really high. Years after years, more manufacturers started making OLED TVs and adopting the technology. So, the production rate was high, but then we thought that the price range will get lower, unfortunately, that didn’t happen. However, it will be harsh if we tell that price didn’t drop at all. It dropped but not by a large margin by which the OLED TVs become affordable.

Talking about the new technology that TCL will use in its OLED TVs or you can say an alternative method for OLED TVs, is called the ‘inkjet printed panels’ (IJP). This technology effectively prints OLED panels between panes of glass. It is quite different than we’ve seen the traditional ‘white OLED’ (WOLED) panels in today’s OLED TV sets. In terms of WOLED panels, the intensive production cost is pretty higher.

So, we the new IJP technology of the upcoming TCL OLED TVs, we can expect a price drop of around 15 to 25 percent. So, the TCL OLED TVs might carry a price tag of 1,000 US Dollars to 1,200 US Dollars.

Our thoughts

As a gaming smartphone, you need a strong battery backup and a longer screen. The Legion Phone 2 Pro has a bigger display and apart from the missing macro sensor, it defeats ASUS ROG Phone 5 Ultimate Edition in the camera specs as well. This is due to a better ultra-wide-angle and front camera. ASUS does you some special experience. It comes with a mini display which can be useful but taking price and specs, we will go with Lenovo legion Phone 2 Pro.

Angry Indian Traders to Counter Amazon Smbhav 2021 with own event called ‘Asmbhav’

0

A huge number of small Indian businesses are planning to protest in an event on Thursday against large foreign retailers like Amazon.com Inc. The protest day coincides with the U.S. e-commerce giant’s annual seller conference in India, a sign of escalating tensions in the second-largest country’s retail market by population.

The local traders have long accused global retailers Amazon and close rival Walmart Inc.-owned Flipkart of deception as platforms and employing unfair practices that snatch the livelihoods of small online and offline sellers. The trader groups’ event is named Asmbhav, or “impossible” in Hindi; it takes a dig at Amazon’s annual seller extravaganza, called Smbhav, or “possible.”

“Over half-a-million sellers and leading small trader groups are participating in the Asmbhav event which will focus on ruined livelihoods because of the bullying and partisanship by e-commerce marketplaces,” said Abhay Raj Mishra of the non-profit Public Response Against Helplessness and Action for Redressal (PRAHAR), one of the organizers of the event spearheaded by a collective of Indian sellers, according to Bloomberg.

India’s small traders, distributors, and merchants, ahead of a potential revision of foreign investment rules, have filed petitions in the country’s courts and antitrust regulators to curb the foreign retailing giants. Expectations are that the government will tighten regulations that already bar e-commerce platforms, such as Flipkart and Amazon, from owning or controlling companies that sell on their platform, faking exclusive deals with makers of consumer electronics products such as smartphones, and discounting goods sold on their platforms.

Amazon’s seller event made its debut last year with founder Jeff Bezos in attendance. The event, this year, will span four days and be held virtually. According to Bloomberg, the key business figures among panel speakers will include “former Pepsico Inc. Chief Executive Officer Indra Nooyi, telecom operator Bharti Airtel Ltd.’s Chairman Sunil Mittal, India’s chief economic adviser Krishnamurthy Subramanian and Infosys Ltd. co-founder and Chairman Nandan Nilekani.” Participants will include startups, small businesses, retailers, and developers.

In another dig at Amazon’s Smbhav awards to select sellers, the protest event organizers will hand out tongue-in-cheek “Asmbhav awards” to Bezos, Senior VP and Country Manager of Amazon, Amit Agarwal, and its India business partner, Narayana Murthy, the billionaire co-founder of Infosys. Trade groups like the All India Online Vendors Association and the All-India Mobile Retailers Association are backing the event.

Redmi Gaming Phone launching at the end of April equipped with Dimensity 1200 SoC

0

Redmi has officially announced the launch of its upcoming gaming smartphone. Leaks and rumors claim that Redmi’s upcoming gaming smartphone will be MediaTek Dimensity 1200 powered smartphone. This smartphone will be available in China as the company’s first gaming smartphone. Moving on, we have come across another report that claims this upcoming Redmi gaming smartphone powered by Dimensity 1200 chipset will launch under the POCO brand in India. We are verifying the later information about the phone launching in India.

The official announcement from the company refers to the phone as the first masterpiece of the “Game Phone” and has added it will be available in China by the end of this month. The company claims “to create a game flagship for more players. The ultimate cost-effective adjustment”. This clearly hints that the upcoming gaming smartphone will be a cost-effective device and might be a competitor of all the present gaming smartphones available in the market.

This time the company is partnering with Call of Duty Mobile Game for making this smartphone. This reminds us of ASUS partnering with Tencent for their special variant in China.

Barcelona news: Aguero, Puig, Mingueza and Roberto

0

Sergio Aguero has been confirmed to be leaving Manchester City at the end of the ongoing season. This will mark the conclusion of a decade long association between the Argentinian striker and the club, where he has emerged as their best ever forward, as well as the highest scoring player in their history.

It is yet unclear as to where exactly Aguero will end up playing next year, with the likes of Chelsea, PSG, Leeds United and Barcelona all interested in his services next season.

Barcelona in particular, are still one of the favourites to land the player due to his friendship with Lionel Messi, who seems to be happy to stay at Camp Nou despite having an entire transfer saga in 2020. According to Fabrizio Romano, they have approached the player’s agent and have opened talks with him regarding Aguero’s signature.

Elsewhere, Barcelona are also expected to extend the contracts of their youth products, Riqui Puig and Oscar Mingueza up until 2023. The latter has been a regular in Barcelona’s backline, filling in for the injured Gerard Pique. But Puig has been starved for playing time this season, barely featuring in the starting lineup under Ronald Koeman.

Additionally, there are also talks surrounding right-back Sergi Roberto and whether or not he, too, will extend his contract with the club or not. The player could also extend his contract for two more years, but there is no agreement in place.

UEFA to scrap away goals rule

0

The Champions League is set to drop the controversial away goals rule next season. However, the system will not be completely scrapped. Instead, the away goals will only count for within the 90 minutes of the second leg and will not be applicable if scores are level at the end of the 90 minutes in the second leg with scores level.

The two teams will have to battle it out for the lead and won’t be able to rely on the away goals to save them if they are still level at the end of extra time. This ruling has reportedly been accepted by the big participating clubs in the Champions League, whereas the prospect of scrapping away goals completely has been rejected.

Had the idea of away goals been discarded completely, we would have not had PSG progress into the semis beating Bayern and Porto defeating Juventus in the round of 16 either. The away goals rule adds to the unique features about the tournament, and provides the extra thrill that league football does not.

The tournament in itself is also expected to undergo a change, with the Swiss system reportedly in the works to take over post 2024. The group stages will involve 10 matches per team, and the top 8 clubs from each team will qualify for the Round of 16 automatically.

The remaining spots will be decided on the basis of two legged ties between teams placed 9th to 24th. This will push the number of CL matches to 225, instead of the current 125.
