AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT GPU appears in new Leaks

0

Igor’s Lab claims to have obtained a PCB layout for AMD’s top-of-the-line Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card, which allegedly uses the RDNA 3 Navi 31 GPU. The graphics card will provide a significant power improvement over AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics cards that are based on RDNA 2.

Igor Wallossek’s PCB leak closely resembles the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card’s reference design. Two 8-pin connectors were reportedly present on the flagship RDNA 3 Navi 31 GPU, but this PCB appears to be a little different. It’s possible that AMD will use a different board for its own use and that this is a partner/AIC reference board.

Let’s start by examining the Navi 31 “RDNA 3” GPU, which is located in the centre of the PCB and is said to have 7 chiplets (1 GCD + 6 MCDs). The entire package area is projected to be 225mm2, with the GCD measuring 308mm2 and the MCDs measuring 37.5mm2 each. That completely fills a 538 mm2 die size. Twelve GDDR6 memory modules, each with a capacity of up to 24 GB using 16GB DRAM, surround the MCM GPU.

Regarding power delivery, it is said that the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT “Navi 31” graphics card uses a 21+3 phase power delivery solution made up of 16 voltage converters (from 8 phases running in parallel).

This alone represents a significant improvement over the Radeon RX 6900 XT’s 16 phases, and as a result, the power need has increased. This PCB has triple 8-pin connectors rather than twin 8-pin connectors. Although the card is advertised as having a maximum board power or TBP of 450W, the actual value would be less.

Starting with the RDNA generation, AMD has always attempted to take a more uniform approach with its PCB and cooling designs, and the Radeon RX 7000 series would also be adhering to these pillars.

The Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card and other next-generation enthusiast cards would be powered by the AMD Navi 31 GPU, the top-tier RDNA 3 processor. We’ve heard that AMD would replace its next-generation RDNA 3 GPUs’ compute units with work group processors. Dual CU (Compute Units) will be housed in each WGP, but there will be four SIMD32 clusters per CU, as opposed to two on each CU in RDNA 2. According to rumours, AMD has the choice of the 6nm die from TSMC or Samsung.

The AMD Navi 31 GPU with RDNA 3 architecture is anticipated to feature a single GCD with 48 WGPs, 12 SAs, and 6 SEs, according to the most recent information. There will be a total of 12,288 stream processors distributed as a result. This represents a 2.4x increase in cores above the 5120 SPs found in the Navi 21 GPU. According to reports, the Navi 31 GCD, often known as the GPU, would be packaged on TSMC’s 5nm production node and measure 308mm2.

The Navi 31 GPU will also include 6 MCDs, each of which will have a 16 MB Infinity Cache. Additionally, these MCDs are anticipated to include 64-bit (32-bit x 2) memory controllers, giving the device a 384-bit bus interface.

Always On Display of iPhone 14 Pro supports Apple TV Remote, Maps, Phone, and more

According to CNBC in their evaluation, the iPhone 14 Pro always-on display includes a clever little trick: it continues to function when you use the phone as your Apple TV Remote.

If you don’t have the physical remote on hand, you can activate the Apple TV Remote on existing phones using Control Center.

iPhone 14 pro Additional Features

On iOS 16, it functions like an app and is found in Control Center rather than a home screen icon. It will even show up in your multitasking app switcher so you can quickly return to it if you switch to browse the web or check social media.

When using the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, this convenience is increased even further. While your phone is technically “asleep,” the Apple TV remote controls operate with the always-on display so that all the controls are still visible (if a little dimmed).

Unusually bright for an always-on mode, the always-on display of this series may become customers’ favorite method of navigating their Apple TV. This will be especially true if you watch TV in the dark at night. The Apple TV Siri Remote doesn’t have any form of backlight, so the buttons on the iPhone remote will be much easier to see.

If you want to experience everything Apple has to offer, get the iPhone 14 Pro or upgraded version. You’ll like the several beneficial upgrades, which range from the cameras to the screen.

DJI OSMO Action 3: price, specs, launch revealed

DJI has announced the Osmo Action 3, the latest addition to its family of compact action cameras. This new offering from the world’s leading drone manufacturer features a complete redesign, sporting two touchscreens and a focus on portrait-mode shooting.

For this release, DJI has something of a challenge on its hands, as the release date of this new action camera coincides with the announcement of the GoPro Hero11 Black and GoPro Hero11 Mini. The new camera ramps up the battery capacity significantly and makes the camera more creator-friendly than ever.

DJI OSMO Action 3: price, specs, launch revealed

DJI OSMO Action 3

Based on DJI’s specifications, the Osmo Action 3 has the same 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor as the Action 2 that outputs at 12 MP with a 155° FOV and an f/2.8 aperture. However, DJI has included RockSteady 3.0 software for superior image stabilization. Like its predecessor, the Osmo Action 3 also offers HorizonSteady, HorizonBalancing, and a quick-release design.

The new camera’s big features are the powerful battery and the ability to rotate the camera ready for vertical shooting natively. Specifically, the Osmo Action 3 has an ‘Extreme Battery’, which is DJI’s marketing for a 1,770 mAh battery. Reputedly, the Osmo Action 3 should last up to 160 minutes while recording 4K videos, which only drops by 10 minutes even in -20 °C temperatures.

DJI OSMO Action 3: price, specs, launch revealed

Additionally, the Osmo Action 3 offers 16 meters waterproofing without a dedicated case, unlike the Action 2. Moreover, the 145 g action camera has two displays, with a 2.25-inch rear display joined by a front display that measures 1.4-inches across. Furthermore, DJI has integrated three microphones within the Osmo Action 3, rather than one in the Action 2’s camera unit and three in its front touchscreen module. If the built-in microphones prove insufficient, the Action 3 supports DJI microphones via direct USB-C connections and other external microphones via 3.5mm to USB-C.

DJI OSMO Action 3: price, specs, launch revealed

“Ever since we released the original Osmo Action in 2019, we have been continuously inspired by the stunning footage captured with it,” said Paul Pan, Senior Product Line Manager at DJI. “As our users keep pushing further, moving faster, and diving deeper, our mission is to provide a device built to keep up with them. Every new feature made Osmo Action 3 the most reliable, tough, and easy-to-use action camera. We can’t wait to see what our users create when they push their limits with Osmo Action 3.”

Heat management is a big new feature of this and other new action cameras, and the camera sees a major boost in this respect. The new OSMO Action can shoot 4K 60fps for full battery life without overheating. Professional movie D-Cinelike Color Mode is available in video, and other popular favourites such as slow-motion and timelapse modes also feature.

Ada Lovelace: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series GPU officially confirmed to be Ada Lovelace

0

Ada Lovelace will be honoured as the name of the next-generation gaming GPU architecture for the GeForce RTX 40 series, according to NVIDIA. The confirmation can be found in a brand-new teaser shared on Twitter by NVIDIA’s Australia and New Zealand account. A picture of “Numbers of Bernoulli” and the phrase “The future has a past” are displayed in the teaser. Ada Lovelace created the famous algorithm in 1842 and it was used for the Analytical Engine.

Even though the Ada Lovelace architecture is well known, it’s still amazing to see NVIDIA drawing inspiration from the scientists who helped shape the computer world we currently inhabit. In the upcoming months, a range of GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards, including the RTX 4090 flagship, will be powered by the Ada Lovelace GPUs.

One could consider Ada Lovelace to be the first computer enthusiast in history.

She was the first to see that Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine had uses beyond simple computation and she wrote what is believed to be the first algorithm meant to be carried by such a machine (becoming the first computer programmer). Before Alan Turing completed their work and created the general-purpose computer during World War II, it had been approximately 50 years.

Ada Lovelace follows in the tradition of other notable physicists, mathematicians, and scientists on whom NVIDIA has based its architectures. Ada Lovelace and possibly all future architectural codenames from NVIDIA can be found among the heroes displayed at the GTC 2018 keynote.
