Xiaomi is developing Apple’s latest ‘Dynamic Island’ like feature for its new MIUI theme

0

Apple introduced its iPhone 14 series last week, and the Dynamic Island on the Pro models was one of the main highlights of that event. Now, the Android smartphone realm might soon witness the Dynamic Island feature. A MIUI theme developer just created an Android version of Apple’s Dynamic Island.

While not directly from smartphone brands, a replication of the Island feature on the iPhone 14 series has been created for the Android platform by third-party developers. However, this particular version is only available via a theme known amusingly as “Grumpy UI” when directly translated, which is currently under development for Xiaomi’s MIUI.

MIUI theme brings the Dynamic Island of iPhone 14 Pro to Xiaomi

Android smartphone makers have been trying to eliminate the notch since it first appeared on smartphones. That future will arrive once under-display camera technology has fully matured. Apple has taken a different route with the iPhone 14 Pro series, though. Instead of hiding the pill-shaped notch, the company has embraced it using Dynamic Island.

However, the day is not so far when the other Android OEMs may create something similar to it. And we may witness the Dynamic Island feature on the Android realm too. Apple’s Dynamic Island is perhaps the main talking point of the iPhone 14 Pro, and it may see its Android version on Xiaomi phones, as a theme developer has created a feature that simulates this capability.

The Dynamic Island to feature on Xiaomi with MIUI theme

In a 10 seconds clip shared by TechDroider’s Vaibhav Jain on Twitter, we can see the Dynamic Island-like notifications in action on a Xiaomi phone. The video showcases that the notification island is floating separately from the punch-hole cutout. But when expanded, it manages to hide the selfie camera, and a now-playing section emerges out of the pill-like island. The theme developers told Vaibhav Jain that the Dynamic Island theme update is still under review. If Xiaomi approves the theme, it’ll be available via the MIUI Theme store.

Its function is akin to how the notification shade on Android phones works, except that it houses them all in a small pill-shaped area. However, unlike Apple’s Dynamic Island, this one doesn’t encompass the front-facing camera. When the display was turned off, the second screen, as it was called, would show the date, time, and connection status.

The Dynamic Island to feature on Xiaomi with MIUI theme

Unlike iPhone, Android has a robust notification system that makes managing alerts from various apps and services much easier. So, Dynamic Island-like functionality won’t be that useful on Android phones. But if you want to experience the feature without buying an iPhone, this MIUI theme should help suffice that. As of now, the theme is currently under Xiaomi’s review process. It will make its way to the MIUI theme store once it gets the required approvals.

Intel Raptor Lake: Team blue claims of setting 8 GHz Overclocking World Record with its Upcoming CPU

0

With a few tantalising announcements, Intel has been hinting at the release of its 13th-generation Raptor Lake CPUs. It states that the CPUs have already achieved an 8 GHz “global overclocking record” and will be the first to run at a stock speed of 6 GHz.

Raptor Lake was previewed by Team Blue at the Intel Tech Tour 2022 in Israel. One slide demonstrated Intel’s intention to use Raptor Lake to outperform AMD in terms of clock speeds. While Intel claims its upcoming chips can outperform the Ryzen 9 7950X by 300 MHz with a 6 GHz model, we are aware that it has a maximum clock speed of 5.7 GHz.

The Raptor Lake SKU with the 6 GHz stock speed has yet to be announced by Intel, and neither has its release date. While the top-tier Core i9-13900K, which recent leaks indicate would perform compared to the Ryzen 9 7950X, may be the culprit, that CPU’s 24-core (8P + 16E) clock speed is rumoured to reach 5.8 GHz, which suggests the Core i9-12900KS or another KS model may be the only one to receive the 6 GHz speed.

The slide further states that Raptor Lake has already been liquid nitrogen-overclocked up to 8 GHz. Intel claims that this is an overclocking world record, albeit there are some limitations given that 8.7 GHz currently holds the title.

Raptor Lake, according to Intel, boosts single-threaded workloads by 15% and multi-threaded workloads by 41%.

Raptor Lake combines Performance (P) and Efficiency (E) cores, just as Alder Lake. While the P cores are now Raptor Cove rather than Golden Cove from the previous generation, the E cores are still based on the same Gracemont cores as Alder Lake.

Raptor Lake is anticipated to have faster speeds, twice as many E-cores, and more L2 and L3 cache than Alder Lake, while the more sophisticated memory controllers will bring certified support for DDR5-5600 (as opposed to DDR5-4800 in Alder Lake) and DDR4-3200 memory.

The Arc Alchemist GPU launch has caused consumers to lose faith in Intel, and the firm recently had to deny it was closing the division—the second time it’s had to do so. Intel will be hoping the Raptor Lake CPUs can help them reclaim some of this trust. However, given the hoopla surrounding Zen 4, Chipzilla will have competition in the market for next-generation processors. On September 27, during the Innovation event, Intel is scheduled to reveal the Raptor Lake CPUs. In October, the processors are anticipated to go on sale.

HP’s unequalled expertise and IP in Thermal Inkjet technology and Latex chemistry deliver cost, quality, productivity, and reliability advantages. HP’s Thermal Inkjet printhead dramatically improves the printing speed, part quality, and repeatability. The advanced latex chemistries developed by HP lend significant benefits to the binder itself, enabling stronger green parts, eliminating the need for de-binding, and yielding industrial production-grade quality.

Key advantages of HP Metal Jet technology include:

  • Innovative New Designs: New geometries, density control and designs to lightweight or consolidate metal parts push the boundaries of what is possible with 3D printing.
  • Improved Customer Economics: Process steps needed to create parts are shortened whilst costs due to manual labour or complexity requirements are reduced, driving efficiencies across the supply chain.
  • Increased Productivity: Binder jetting can boost productivity tenfold, allowing for processing layer by layer versus point process. Isotropic properties also require no post-processing and no support removal, and the use of metal powders is also more cost-effective than laser-based 3D printing powder.
  • Higher Resolution to Drive Part Quality: HP printheads leverage decades of industrial thermal inkjet technology developments, defining geometry and delivering high resolution and system robustness, making mass 3D metal parts a viable option for commercial manufacturing.

Innovative Collaboration, Breakthrough Applications

Advancements and new production applications highlight the advantages of Metal Jet, including better productivity, low part cost, and outstanding quality.

HP has already built strong momentum with leading partners and customers including GKNParmatechCobra GolfLegor Group, and Volkswagen, and more. HP is also collaborating on mass metals production opportunities with new partners and customers around the world, including Domin Digital Motion, an innovative industrial company focused on hydraulic systems and valves, Lumenium, a startup developer of advanced rotational engines, and Schneider Electric.

Schneider Electric is the global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation. Their product portfolio includes products, controls, software and services across residential, commercial, industrial and critical applications.

“We are excited about the new possibilities for our business as a result of this collaboration with HP,” said Michael Lotfy, SVP of Power Products & Systems, North America, Schneider Electric. “We are constantly in pursuit of solutions that will enable more sustainable, agile innovations development.  Leveraging HP Metal Jet our teams have delivered a proven use case showcasing the benefits of digital manufacturing and 3D printing, and we look forward to uncovering many more applications that meet the evolving demands from our customers addressing the challenges around sustainability and Electricity 4.0.”

Dunzo, Swiggy, and Blinkit are all eyeing getting hold of the Night Delivery Sector

0

Platforms for grocery e-commerce are aiming to launch night delivery as a new front in the war. A first for the sector, the grocery delivery division of restaurant delivery and search aggregator Swiggy, Swiggy Instamart, has extended grocery delivery hours until the early hours, starting with select areas.

“We’re now open till 3 am…,” Instamart said in messages sent to customers over the weekend. The SoftBank-backed grocery service said it had witnessed a 16-fold growth in orders in the 12 months to June, with Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai topping the list.

“Swiggy Instamart has been operational in over 25 cities from 7 am to as late as 1 am,” a Swiggy spokesperson said. “With the help of the store owners and our delivery partners, we are extending our operational hours further in some cities (subject to municipal rules) based on customer requests, giving them access to over 5,000 products, and addressing everything from late-night cravings to emergency purchases.”

Dunzo

According to Dunzo, it is testing 24-hour delivery in a few cities’ select neighborhoods.

According to business experts, quick-commerce companies are dominating the night delivery market because they can bring goods to homes in 15 to 30 minutes using a network of dimly lit or small delivery-only stores that serve as warehouses and don’t rely on outside vendors. Its sustainability is crucial, they continued.

Micron to invest $15 billion for its factory in Boise

0

The largest manufacturer of memory chips in the United States, Micron Technology Inc (MU.O), will break ground on a $15 billion factory in Boise, Idaho, on Monday. According to the company’s chief executive, an announcement of a second major U.S. plant will follow soon.

“We are in the final stages of another high volume manufacturing site that is going to be announced in the coming weeks,” CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said.

DRAM chips, which are widely used in data centres, personal computers, and other devices, will be produced at both factories. Once operational, American facilities will produce 40% more DRAM than the rest of the world combined, up from 10% currently, according to Mehrotra. He predicted that the Boise factory would start operating in 2025.

By the end of the decade, 2,000 new Micron jobs will be created, according to Micron, who claimed that this will be the first new memory chip plant to be built in the United States in 20 years.

Numerous businesses have announced plans to manufacture chips in the US since US President Joe Biden signed the Chips and Science Act, which allocates $52 billion to boost domestic semiconductor manufacturing. The $20 billion factory in Ohio where cutting-edge processor chips will be produced was officially opened by Intel Corp (INTC.O) on Friday.

Micron used to manufacture chips in Boise, where it began, but it now has significant production facilities in countries like Singapore, Taiwan, and Japan.

The company’s primary centre for research and development is still in Boise. The CEO claimed that combining manufacturing and R&D will hasten the time to market.

“This is not about divesting from manufacturing in any other part of the world or bringing back manufacturing. This is about increasing,” he said.

Micron

“To meet the growing demand for memory, we have to increase our production,” he said, adding that the “Chips and Science bill enables it to be increased here in the U.S.”

According to Mehrotra, American investments don’t signify a turn away from Asian nations. In the past, Micron has stated that it will invest $150 billion over the next ten years, with $40 billion of that amount going to the United States. That, according to Mehrotra, also includes money for research and development, the price of which is rising as new technologies are developed.

Werewolf By Night: Marvel has come with a new Horror Thriller sequence

0

Marvel’s one of the most mysterious segments, ‘Werewolf by Night’ got some official word from the makers. This is one of the best Halloween special sets to hit on Disney+. Werewolf by Night not only just launches any of the live-action, as it can serve as the directorial debut of Michael Gi8acchino who is known for achieving an Academy Award as a composer, and also the writer of Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Batman, and many more.

Werewolf by Night with any indication, having such a live-action version has been played by Mexican actor great Gael Garcia Bernal doon become the favorite for all of the MCU fans.

Werewolf

Werewolf By Night: Special Attachment

The new trailer of the show announces the throwback intentions right now along with a sound and that’s quite surprising for the viewers. In the place of such usual Marvel Studios logo lot the story Giacchino wrote, we have got bongo drums and multicolored lines that unveil, “A Marvel Studios Special Presentation.”. The Special will follow in such footsteps of the old horror adaptations. The title card reflects those Universal horrors.

Werewolf By Night: The Occultists

The first moments featured such important figures quiet fathers in a baroque as drawing the room.  Noe, the hoods are suggesting such a secret society from some category that’s quickly confirmed about those menacing voice that has referred to the guests as ‘hunters. Marvel Comics has no such vacancies of monster hunters and secret societies containing led by Ulysses Bloodstone with the immortal caveman fighting against arcane powers by taking the help of the ruby attached to his chest. The other is with Dracula’s old nemesis Abraham, Van Helsing. There are some other terrible monster hunters in the Marvel Universe like super Puritan Solomon Kane, Avenger and Dr. Strange ally Dr. Druid, and the  Daywalker himself.

Werewolf By Night: Zombies

The credit goes to Richard Watson as it has turned out in fact Ulysses Bloodstone. It will take a look at Simon Garth and tell us we are completely off to the base for some assumptions. Simon Garth was a rich man aimed at voodoo ritual after the cruel firing of one of his employees. After the priestess attempts the ritual that has exposed her, she loved Garth and helps him to flee, Garth is now transformed into a zombie. In the trailer, Garth appears as either an animatronic or a reanimated corpse.

Werewolf By Night: The identity of Verussa

The meeting was held by a woman played by Harriet Harris, coming in the character of Verussa. Apart from the comic book the counterpart has drawn from, we can only able to guess at her role in this tale, that’s pretty clear. She has gathered the hunters for looking at the monster and tells lots bout the creepy things.

Werewolf By Night: Elsa Bloodstone

It’s clear that Verussa is a villain, the trailer unveils the trench coat as the woman playing Laura Donnely as our protagonist. The name of the character has not yet been declared, it’s just all but Elsa Bloodstone who will be the great monster hunter in the latest Marvel, Elsa is the daughter of Ulysses Bloodstone and the blood of the jewel. Elsa has papered to fix in the madcap comic, and he will collaborate with X-Men and the zombie hunters of SHIELD’s.

Werewolf By Night: Jack Rusell

We don’t have many updates about Elsa Bloodstone, as it shows even less of the show’s title character. The face is sallow with a sunken eye. The new trailer provides a brief glimpse of the werewolf, as it prefers to follow the roots of MGM horror producer Jacques Tourneur. Rusell comes to transform for something more interesting on the Universal Wolf Man featured by Lon Chaney Jr.

Werewolf By Night: Man-Thing

We are assuming if Gael Garcia Bernal is featuring the role 0of Russell as the werewolf and the werewolf that let too loose on the monster hunters, then the question is why does the trailer show such a long hand-grabbing Bernal? If you give a close look, then you will understand that the hand comes from Man-Thing. Man-Thing come after the scientist Ted Sallis ran afoul of such a modified concept of mechanics.

Werewolf By Night: TVA

TVA or Time Variant Authority is also one of the unexpected guests of the show. We can see some quick shots of the werewolf attacking people. The people are the hunters but not the monster hunter foregrounded along the trailer. Now the most important question is why TVA needs to gather as monster hunters.

Werewolf By Night: Moon Knight

Beyond the Darkhold, other popular figures are spinning as Marc Spector Moon Knight. When Marvel has not provided the hint at any such figure planning for Oscar Isaac to come back as the Fist of Khonshu, whether Khonshu will be involved or not, for more updates, we have to wait for some time.

Werewolf By Night: Release Date

Marvel’s Werewolf by Night’ will hit on 7th October on Disney+.

Here is the trailer:
