IND vs ZIM 1st ODI: India won the match by 10 wickets

India won the 1st ODI against Zimbabwe by 10 wickets while they were chasing 190 runs. Shikhar Dhawan and Shubhman Gill smashed fifties and their contribution to the game helped India with a victory of 10 wickets. This is the first game of the three-match series held at Harare Sports Club.

Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill’s half-centuries led India to a 10-wicket win. On the other hand, the 70-run stand between Brad Evans and Richard Ngarava helped Zimbabwe near the 200 run-mark. Dhawan and Gill had their 192-run partnership that helped India to achieve the target in just 30.5 overs. Shikhar Dhawan mustered 81 runs from 113 deliveries and Shubman Gill smashed 82 runs in just 72 balls.

Wicketkeeper-batter and skipper Regis Chakabva scored 35 off 51 before getting out by Axar. Brad Evans and Richard Ngarava scored 33 and 34 runs respectively to take their team to a total of above 185.

Deepak Chahar and Axar Patel had their career’s best bowling figures. The former one had a figure of 3/27 while Axar Patel picked all the three wickets at 189 runs, at 40.3 overs. Mohammad Siraj could pick one wicket giving our 36 runs. Prasidh Krishna scalped three wickets too. KL Rahul who had made a comeback from his injury led the team and elected to bowl first. In absence of Rohit Sharma, he did a great job indeed. India is having a gala time at the ODI format since the team won five of the six matches. Chahar also made a comeback after he recovered from a hamstring injury.

This is the 13th victory of the Indian team in ODI and their tenth victory at the venue. Deepak Chahar who gave his career’s best performance after returning to the squad won the player of the Match award.

Bengaluru – August 18, 2022: Flipkart Ventures, the $100M venture fund set up by Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, today announced that it will be investing in six startups as part of its accelerator program – Flipkart Leap Ahead.

The startups were selected after a rigorous selection process that involved multiple rounds of evaluation based on objective criteria, by a board of cross functional leaders at Flipkart and the Flipkart Ventures team. The program aims to provide early-stage startups with mentorship and guidance to grow, scale, and build disruptive innovations that solve for Digital India.

The six startups will receive an equity investment upto $500k from Flipkart and will undergo the well-curated mentorship program delivered through a customized curriculum, which has been designed by Bain & Company. This includes regular mentor connect sessions with experienced Flipkart leaders across various functions including business, product, technology, and finance. At the end of the program, the startups will be able to present their ideas, fine-tuned over the course of the 16-week mentorship training, to potential investors and industry leaders on a Demo Day.

Flipkart Leap Ahead has been conceptualized to support early-stage startups which have the potential to disrupt the digital ecosystem and aid their growth through structured mentorship and funding. The six startups are building capabilities across a wide array of solutions, each catering to a unique problem statement and the present needs of consumers and sellers online. This includes a metaverse with virtual stores, robotic supply chain solutions, AI-powered fashion cataloging, data analytics-powered business optimisation, data-based freight intelligence, and more that can help elevate customer and seller experiences.

The Flipkart Leap Ahead program graduated its first cohort in July 2021 with eight startups that successfully pitched their ideas to investors and raised further funding.

There is a three-way tie between the oldest active footballers throughout the world’s biggest football leagues. Spanish winger and Betis legend Joaquín, along with Fluminense’s Fábio and Boavista’s Rafael Bracali all share the top spot, at 41 years of age.

The only English Premier League player in the top 10 is Southampton’s Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero, at 40 years of age. He shares this spot with footballing legend Zlatan Ibrahimović. The Swedish striker is still at the top of his game and helped lead AC Milan to their 19th Serie A title last season.

Other recognisable names make it onto the top 10, at 39 years of age: players like former Bayern Munich star Franck Ribéry and notoriously hot-headed Portuguese defender Pepe.

Three of the world’s oldest active footballers are Spanish, a nation which was ranked healthiest in the world in 2019. Perhaps it is this that allows their footballers to remain active all the way into their early 40s.

Top Valorant teams took the stage at TEC Arena presented by AMD and Windows 11 with INR 15,00,000 prize pool

BENGALURU, INDIA, August 17, 2022: Lenovo, the global technology leader, has announced the winners of TEC Arena, the largest offline LAN event for Valorant in partnership with the Esports Club. The event presented by AMD and Windows 11 with Lenovo as the laptop partner is a one-of-a-kind esports festival that aims to celebrate the top Valorant teams in the region.

Enigma Gaming won the TEC Challenger Series 8 with a 3-1 victory over Velocity Gaming. The winner was decided using a best-of-five format where Velocity Gaming won the first game before Enigma Gaming made a comeback to win three games back-to-back. Earlier in the lower finals,  Enigma Gaming defeated Orangutan Esports 2-0 to advance to the grand finals.

Being held from August 12th to August 14th in Bengaluru, the TEC Arena saw over 5,000 gamers compete in the TEC Challenger Series. With a prize pool of INR 15,00,000, the TEC Arena saw the biggest Valorant teams in South Asia compete for the top prize. Apart from the Challenger Series, TEC Arena also hosted daily tournaments, brand experience booths, and cosplay with its own dedicated prize of INR 1,50,000.

The winner, Enigma Gaming won INR 7,50,000 while Velocity Gaming grabbed a runners-up reward of INR 4,00,000. Orangutan was awarded Rs 2,50,000 for coming third in the challenger series.

The daily tournaments included games like FIFA 22, Mortal Kombat 11, and Brawlhalla. Lenovo played an important role in creating an exclusive eSports experience for gamers and displayed the exclusive three-month Game Pass bundle offered on its Legion laptops in partnership with Microsoft and AMD.

Lenovo has always seen great potential in esports to connect individuals. Lenovo has regularly hosted large-scale esports tournaments such as Legion of Champions (LOC) at a global level and the Rise of Legion (ROL) in India and other Asia Pacific regions. The recent edition of Rise of Legion was held in June 2022, and Lenovo is also helping women take the stage at esports events like the Apex Legends Global Series Championship.
