FIFA World Cup 2022: Proposed rescheduling

FIFA Council Bureau must have to vote in favour of this change to activate this newly proposed schedule for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the Presidents of six confederations (UEFA, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, CAF, AFC and OFC) are the members of the FIFA Council Bureau.

Sandro Tonali linked with £50m Arsenal transfer rumours

Arsenal have been linked with the transfer of AC Milan star Sandro Tonali recently. The Rossoneri have made it clear that he isn’t for sale, but the Gunners are planning to launch a £50 million bid to sign him this summer.

They have been linked with Youri Tielemans of Leicester City, but have failed to get the transfer done. However, Fabio Vieira and Oleksandr Zinchenko have made the move to the club, and will provide options in midfield even though Zinchenko played mostly as a left-back under Pep Guardiola.

Sandro Tonali to leave AC Milan for Arsenal?

The young regista helped his side to the Serie A title this past season, and is seen as a vital part of the future by the board. He is only one year into his five-year deal with AC Milan. As a result, the club is under no pressure to sell him at all.

The fact that he is happy at San Siro, and will be playing Champions League football, is also one of the key points to note. So, if Arsenal want the player to join them, they will have to use their financial leverage to convince him to make the switch.

Milan have already lost a key midfielder in Franck Kessie, and will be determined to not let anyone else go this late in the transfer window. But, Arsenal are still exploring the possibilities of a deal for Sandro Tonali within the coming week.

Manchester City deny Bernardo Silva’s transfer rumour, Portuguese is unsure about his future in English club

The English Premier League club Manchester City has denied their acceptance of the Spanish giants Barcelona’s bid on Portuguese footballer Bernardo Silva. However, the 28-year-old attacking midfielder is unsure about his present status in the English club.

Despite deeply struggling with debt, Barcelona are of the busiest and most successful European clubs in the ongoing summer transfer window. According to some media reports, the Catalan club has put in a bid of over €50 million for Bernardo Silva.

There was also some news of Silva’s close chance to move to Barcelona after Manchester City accepted the offer. This transfer rumour became stronger after Silva missed City’s starting line-up for the Premier League 2022/23 opener against the hosts West Ham United last week. The substitute player only managed to spend on the field the last 12 minutes of the game where the defending PL champions claimed a 2-0 win.

Also last year, Silva wished to move to Spain, which would help him to stay closer to his family in Portugal.

However, the English club has reportedly denied any acceptance of Silva’s offer from Barca. The 28-year-old is reportedly valued at around €80 million at present.

Bernardo Silva: I have no idea what’s going to happen

On the other hand, the Manchester City Player of the Year 2018/19, Bernardo Silva just shared his view on his recent future in the club. Though he is happy staying in this English club, he is still unsure about the City’s view of him.

Silva told ESPN in the latest interview, “I’ve always said that I’m happy here, but I have no idea what’s going to happen. We’ll see, honestly. My relationship with the club is very honest. I’ve been open with them and they know what I want. If I stay, I’m very happy, and I will always respect this club and give all my best. If not, it’s football and we’ll just see what happens.”

After joining Man City in 2017 summer, Silva has played 253 matches for the club, where he scored 48 goals and 51 assists.

Barcelona risk losing 2 new signings for free if they aren’t registered by Saturday

Barcelona could have to let go of free signings Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie if they are not registered by Saturday. The Blaugrana start their 22/23 season against Rayo Vallecano this weekend, and the two players have still not been registered as of yet.

There is a clause in both of their deals that allows them to leave for free in case they are not registered prior to the start of the season.  They have not been able to register Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Jules Kounde or the contract renewal of Ousmane Dembele either.

Barcelona in yet another transfer crisis as new free signings could leave

Despite the current situation, Barcelona remain calm that they will be able to register all of their signings ahead of the new season. The players are not panicking either, and don’t want to join any other club as of yet.

It has been a trend for Barcelona to register their new players only a day before kickoff, and this year could see the same pattern followed. But even after the activation of four levers, things don’t look very good financially.

The club will still need to sell some players and raise funds in order to register their new signings with La Liga. So, it remains to be seen whether the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Memphis Depay and Frenkie de Jong leave the club in the coming days.

Real Madrid 2-0 Eintracht Frankfurt: UEFA Super Cup 2022 Result

0

Real Madrid have won the 2022 UEFA Super Cup after beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in Helsinki. Karim Benzema scored his 324th career goal for Los Blancos, overtaking club legend Raul as the second-highest goalscorer in the history of the club.

It was a comfortable win for the 14-time Champions League winners, with Frankfurt being unable to capitalise on their opportunities throughout the game. Thibaut Courtois was called into action several times, and made some key saves to keep a clean sheet.

David Alaba opened the scoring for the Spanish giants, tapping in from point blank range after a cutback header from Casemiro. In the second half, Vinicius Jr found his strike partner from the left wing, and the Frenchman was able to power through Kevin Trapp. The German fumbled the shot, which ended up in the back of the net.

Daichi Kamada had one of the best opportunities during the game, when he was one-on-one with the keeper. But, Courtois was able to make a great save to maintain the lead.

A dominant second half display from Real Madrid prevented Frankfurt from getting out of their own half, for the most part. And now, they have been able to get their hands on the Super Cup once again, with the Club World Cup next.

Ismaila Sarr to choose between Manchester United and Leeds

Watford’s Ismaila Sarr is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs for a move this summer. Manchester United and Leeds United have both been linked with his services, even though only a few weeks remain in the transfer window right now.

The versatile forward scored an early Puskas contender during Watford’s opening Championship game of the season. He scored a goal from within his own half, and helped his team to a 1-1 draw with West Brom.

Ismaila Sarr could make Premier League switch this summer

The player has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past, but nothing materialised for him. Now, he is being strongly linked with an exit from Watford given that they are back in the Championship.

Ismaila Sarr joined Watford for a fee around €30 million, and has earned a lot of praise for his performances. He has scored 25 goals in 94 games for the Hornets, and could seal an exit to Manchester United with the Red Devils reportedly close to agreeing a fee for him.

Leeds United will have to offload some players in order to sign Sarr if they really want him. However, they will not be able to offer the same appeal as Manchester United. So, unless the Yorkshire club are able to table a better offer, they might miss out on the Senegalese.

Pablo Mari to join Monza for 2022/23 season on loan with buy clause

0

Pablo Mari will be joining Serie A club Monza on loan for the 22/23 season. The player spent the latter half of last season on loan at Udinese. And now, he will be returning to the Italian league once again.

The deal will have an obligation to buy if Monza stay up in the top flight at the end of the campaign. This makes Pablo Mari the next player to leave the North London side after Lucas Torreira. The Uruguayan midfielder joined Turkish club Galatasaray on a permanent deal, after spending the previous campaign on loan at Fiorentina.

Pablo Mari leaves Arsenal for Monza

With Gabriel, Ben White and William Saliba at the club, it was unlikely that Pablo Mari would be getting much game time under Mikel Arteta. And now, the Spaniard might end up joining the Italian club on a permanent transfer after an inconsistent spell at Arsenal.

The Gunners have been able to trim their squad to a great extent over the last few transfer windows. And as a part of Mikel Arteta’s rebuild of the club, they are emerging as contenders to at least return to the Champions League this year.

Albert Sambi-Lokonga could be the next to leave the Emirates Stadium, with AC Milan keen on signing him. After a brief spell under Arteta, the former Anderlecht man could be moving on by the end of the window.
