Meesho wants to make its next-funding an IPO

0

Meesho, an online fashion platform, currently has no plans for fundraising, instead, Vidit Aatrey, the company’s CEO and co-founder, stated that they have more than enough money in the bank. In response to the difficulties that many startups face during the funding winter, he stated that Mesho does not need to raise funds in any round at this time.

Aatrey told exclusively Business Today that “we are fortunate that we raised a substantial amount of money in 2021, much more than we needed.”

He told the media outlet that the company currently has no plans to raise funds because they have more than enough in the bank and can run the business in a very healthy manner for many years.

Meesho last raised funds 15 months ago, in September 2021.

The company raised $570 million in a series F funding round led by Fidelity Investments and B Capital Group earlier this month. Previously, the company received $300 million in a series E funding round led by SoftBank Vision Fund.

If Meesho decides to raise funds in the future, the co-founder believes the next round of funding will be an initial public offering (IPO). He stated that once the company achieves profitability, it will be ready for an IPO.

During funding season, it was claimed that Meesho was having difficulty raising its next round, particularly in late-stage deals. To which, Aatrey told BT that these are “undeterred”. Instead, he stated that Meesho does not need to raise a round at this time.

Meesho’s initial public offering (IPO) has been making the rounds for quite some time. Aatrey stated last year, in September, at the company’s town hall meeting, that Meesho is aiming to become Ebitda-positive by mid-2023 before going public. The meeting recording obtained by VCCircle revealed aggressive plans to turn Ebitda positive.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 leaked specs: Core i7-13800H and RTX 4060

According to the latest leak, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 could be an impressive portable computing machine. The top-tier model could also include an NVIDIA RTX 4060, making it the most powerful Surface ever released by the company. According to Geekbench 5, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 will include Intel’s latest 13th-generation processor, the Core i7-13800H.

Intel’s latest 13th-generation Core i7-13800H CPU has six performance cores and eight efficiency cores for a total of 14 cores. Unfortunately, the benchmark does not specify the CPU’s maximum sustained power limit, so just because a chassis contains a powerful chip does not imply that the cooling solution is capable of controlling its temperatures.

According to Gustave Monce, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 also has an NVIDIA RTX 4060 with 8GB of GDDR6 video memory and up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM.

Not only is Microsoft likely to design this machine to be useful to creative professionals, but it may also be capable of running the most recent AAA games at high visual settings. The GPU power limit, like the CPU, was not listed anywhere in the Geekbench 5 benchmark, so we have no idea how the Surface Laptop Studio 2 will perform in other tests. However, because the graphics processor scored 81,285 in the OpenCL category, the GPU performs similarly to a mobile RTX 3060 operating at a higher power limit.

In comparison to the first-generation Surface Laptop Studio, the leaked specifications of the Surface Laptop Studio 2 appear significantly more impressive than the current model’s maxed-out configuration. The laptop is currently equipped with a quad-core Intel 11th-generation Core i7-11370H CPU and an RTX 3050 Ti with 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM.

iPhone 15 Plus Renders Reveal Dynamic Island and USB-C Port

0

Renders published today by 9to5Mac have given Apple enthusiasts a sneak peek into what they can expect from the highly anticipated iPhone 15 Plus. The renders are based on CAD drawings of the device that were shared with Apple’s supply network for manufacturing purposes. While leaks for the regular iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro have already made the rounds, the latest renders suggest that the iPhone 15 Plus will have a few small design changes from its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Plus.

iPhone 15 Plus rumored specifications

The most significant change is the replacement of the notch with a Dynamic Island, similar to the iPhone 15. Apple is reportedly bringing the Dynamic Island design to all iPhone models in 2023, which will allow for a more seamless transition from the front to the rear of the device. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Plus will feature slightly slimmer bezels, giving the device a more modern look and feel.

Another significant change that Apple is making to all iPhone 15 models is the replacement of the Lightning socket with a USB-C port. This change has been a long time coming, and it is expected to make it easier for users to connect their iPhones to other devices.

The iPhone 15 Plus CAD design also has slightly rounded edges, which will give the device a more organic and natural feel. This change, along with a thicker camera bump, will help create a more streamlined design from the front to the back of the device.

In terms of camera capabilities, the iPhone 15 Plus will keep the dual-lens camera with Wide and Ultra Wide lenses. However, the device will likely have a larger battery than the iPhone 15, given its 6.7-inch size. This increased battery capacity is expected to be the main difference between the two models.

While these design changes may seem small, they will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the overall user experience. Apple has always been known for its attention to detail, and the iPhone 15 Plus is no exception. The device is expected to look and function exactly like the iPhone 15, but with a few minor improvements that will make a big difference in day-to-day use.

Overall, the iPhone 15 Plus is shaping up to be an impressive device, and Apple fans around the world are eagerly anticipating its release. While the exact release date is still unknown, it is expected to hit the market sometime in the fall of 2023. Until then, we will have to rely on renders and leaks to get a sense of what this device has in store for us.

Google workers are venting their resentment on Bard

The way staff members are testing Google‘s Bard chatbot serves as a prime example of the company’s long-standing commitment to open discourse and debate. The AI chatbot’s conversational abilities might be improved by asking it questions and reporting poor responses.

As chatbots such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Bard learn to write by analyzing human-written material, according to a company-wide email from CEO Sundar Pichai last week. Bard will be incorporated into search and capable of conversing with users about a range of subjects, relying on indexed webpages for up-to-date knowledge.

Google workers are venting their resentment on Bard

Employees are already grumbling that Pichai’s move comes just a short time after Google abruptly began laying off about 12,000 workers in response to sluggish revenue growth after a flu surge. Employees posted memes on internal message boards and urged Bard to comment on recent layoffs and employee treatment in talks they had with the company. These memes and queries imply that staff members aren’t very thrilled about getting more work at a time when people feel their work is being evaluated more closely. In one of these exchanges, which Insider has reviewed, a coworker asked Bard to envision an IT firm that had laid off 12,000 workers.

Internally, Google has already received criticism over the Bard announcement. Google’s unveiling of the chatbot appeared hurried because Microsoft recently released a redesigned version of Bing that incorporates ChatGPT. Moreover, advertising for Bard showed a chatbot answering a question wrong, and the following day, the company’s stock fell by almost 9%.

2 69 Google workers are venting their resentment on Bard

Google has stated that it intends Bard to offer accurate, useful responses to inquiries that may not have a single correct response and then refer visitors somewhere to delve deeper. The threat posed by an inaccurate answer is substantial, thus staff members have been advised to report any responses provided by Bard that appear to offer financial or medical advice. Also, the bot shouldn’t sound overly human. Google asked staff members for assistance because doing so necessitates training the bot to steer clear of such topics.

Along with worries that Bard might unintentionally say anything debatable, Google’s search revenue may be negatively affected if consumers rely on Bard to answer their queries rather than clicking promoted links. However, using an AI chatbot for searches costs extra. Given that ChatGPT has been used by more than 100 million people since its release, Google probably doesn’t want to take a chance on losing control of search to Microsoft. An inquiry for comments was not immediately answered by Google.

Ericsson is planning to layoff 8,500 employees globally!

0

According to Reuters, telecom equipment maker Ericsson will lay off 8,500 workers globally as part of a cost-cutting strategy. The company has announced plans to lay off approximately 1,400 people in Sweden. Ericsson has now joined the ranks of tech behemoths such as Google, Meta, and Microsoft in announcing thousands of job cuts due to poor economic conditions.

Ericsson has not disclosed which geography would be most affected, but according to the report, analysts previously predicted that North America would be the most affected, with emerging markets such as India suffering the least.

As demand in some markets, including North America, slows, the Swedish telecom giant said in December that it would cut costs by 9 billion crowns ($880 million) by the end of 2023.

Carl Mellander, Ericsson’s Chief Financial Officer, previously told that cost cuts would include reducing consultants, real estate, and employee headcount.

Google announced 12,000 job cuts last month, while Microsoft announced 10,000 job cuts. In a letter to employees on January 20, Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated that the company had experienced periods of dramatic growth over the previous two years.

And it doesnt stop there, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced that the tech giant will cut 10,000 jobs through the end of FY23 Q3. Customers increased their digital spending during the pandemic, according to Nadella, but they are now optimising their digital spending to do more with less.

Real Madrid 1-1 Atletico Madrid: Title challenge over for defending champions?

0

Real Madrid played out a 1-1 draw in the Madrid derby, with their rivals, Atletico. The two teams were unable to break each other down in the early stages of the game.

Jose Maria Gimenez earned the lead for his side with a header from a free-kick situation. Antoine Griezmann provided his seventh La Liga assist of the season, finding his teammate’s run and beating Thibaut Courtois to silence the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid’s title hopes dealt massive blow with derby draw

The introduction of Luka Modric from the bench was the key change that Carlo Ancelotti made to get the equaliser. He also threw on 18-year-old Alvaro Rodriguez, who managed to score the equalising goal.

Modric found the youngster from the corner, and the tall striker headed past Jan Oblak to score his first La Liga goal. The Uruguayan is very highly rated by Ancelotti, and is showing why he could be the right deputy to Karim Benzema.

The Frenchman struggled for chances in the cagey affair, but things changed after the introduction of another centre-forward in the game. Even though Atletico Madrid played with ten men, they were able to take a point away from the Bernabeu, solidifying their fourth placed spot for the time being.

But in the end, they only picked up a point from the game, leaving Real Madrid potentially ten points behind rivals, Barcelona at the top of the table.

Being so far behind Barca, who have only let in seven goals in the league, Real’s title challenge might be over already. But, they are still in contention for the Champions League, as they are already one foot into the quarter finals, defeating Liverpool 5-2 at Anfield in the first leg of their Round of 16 clash.

While not much is known about the device, based on previous iPhone releases and industry trends, we can make some educated guesses about what we can expect.

Apple has a reputation for keeping the design of its devices consistent for several years before making significant changes. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to continue with the flat-edge design that was introduced with the iPhone 12 series. However, it is possible that Apple may make some changes to the camera module or screen size to set it apart from previous models. Here are some rendered images of the iPhone 15 Pro Max from Ice universe.

iPhone 15 Pro Max rumored specifications

The display on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to come with a 6.7-inch screen size to be a significant upgrade over its predecessor. There are rumors that Apple may use LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) technology for the display, which allows for a variable refresh rate that can improve battery life. The screen resolution may also increase to offer even sharper and clearer visuals.

The camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to be a significant focus of the device. It is rumored that Apple may use a periscope-style telephoto lens that could offer improved optical zoom capabilities. The camera may also feature new software and AI improvements to enhance image quality and video capabilities.

As with every new iPhone release, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to offer a significant performance boost over its predecessor. The device may also feature 5G connectivity and improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities.

The battery life of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to be an improvement over previous models.

The price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to be in line with previous flagship iPhone models, with a starting price of around $1,199. However, it is possible that the device may be priced higher if Apple introduces significant new features or improvements.

In conclusion, while not much is known about the iPhone 15 Pro Max, based on industry trends and past iPhone releases, we can expect significant improvements in areas such as display, camera, performance, and battery life. Jose Negreira corruption case with Barcelona deepens

0

Former referees chief José Negreira is being sued by a current official, Xavier Estrada Fernández. The reason behind it was due to fraudulent payments received on account of sporting corruption.

Jose Negreira allegedly received payments worth £1.2 million from Barcelona for neutral treatment and for technical advice on how to get better treatment from referees. He formerly served as the vice president of the Spanish FA’s Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) and received the payments between 2016 and 2018.

Jose Negreira corruption case deepens with latest revelation

Fernandez’s case was presented on Friday, stating that Negreira provided Barcelona with advice and services based on how to get better treatment from referees.

He was reportedly on Barcelona’s payroll for receiving payment, for receiving payments through his company, DASNIL 95 SL. However, La Liga has stated that it cannot give punishments for cases more than three years ago.

Documents have now surfaced which reveal that Barcelona paid DASNIL 95 SL a total of £5.8 million from 2001. As things stand, the investigation is still ongoing and criminal charges may be brought forth if deemed necessary.

Barcelona have put out a statement saying that they only paid Jose Negreira for technical advice. But, it remains to be seen whether they will be charged further for their actions under former president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

AMD is offering some attractive discounts for the purchase of the Ryzen 7000 Series Bundle

0

AMD announced recently that it will begin offering a Ryzen 7000 Series bundle with discounts on AM5 motherboards and DDR5 kits worth up to $125. With your purchase, you will also receive a free game. The new bundle, which includes several of the chips on our list of the best CPUs for gaming, helps to address, if only temporarily, some of the high memory and motherboard costs associated with building a Ryzen 7000 system. It will also help to boost CPU sales during a period when PC sales are at their lowest in 30 years.

The programme is scheduled to run from February 27 to April 1, 2023. According to AMD’s announcement, purchasing a Ryzen 7000 processor during this time period unlocks additional discounts for X670 and B650 motherboards, as well as discounts available for 2x8GB and 2x16GB DDR5 memory kits from leading makers such as Corsair, ADATA, GeIL, and Kingston Technology.

AMD will offer discount at checkout when you purchase a Ryzen 7000 processor, motherboard, and DDR5 memory as one purchase.

The amount of the discount, however, will vary depending on the hardware chosen. You can save up to $125 off the final purchase price of the hardware with certain combinations.

These bundles will be available at major retailers worldwide, including Amazon and Newegg, beginning Monday. The value of the discount, however, will vary depending on several factors, including the hardware and the region where the AMD bundle is purchased.

This bundle release coincides with the February 28 launch of AMD’s new Ryzen 7000X3D processors, but those processors do not appear to be included in the promotion. The promotion is currently valid for the entire Ryzen 7000 lineup, including the Ryzen 9 7950X, 7900X, and 7900, the Ryzen 7 7700X and 7700, and the Ryzen 5 7600X and 7600. As a reminder, AMD says it will support the AM5 platform until 2025+, implying that there will be a long runway of processor generations compatible with the AM5 platform in the future.
