Viacom18 will broadcast the sixth season of the Abu Dhabi T10 League

Viacom18 is set to telecast the sixth edition of the Abu DhabiT10 to the Indian audience. A total of eight teams will be playing 33 games across 12 days at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. The tournament will start on November 23 and end on December 4. The matches will be available on Jio Cinema as well. On television, it will get broadcast on Sports18 Khel and Colors Cineplex SD and HD.

The JioCinema is also available can be downloaded from Jio, Vi, Airtel, and BSNL subscribers, and will live stream the FIFA World Cup hosted in Qatar in 2022. It will be broadcast in five languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali from November 20.

The sixth edition of Abu Dhabi T10 will be showing eight teams along with two new teams added to this edition ( New York Strikers and Morrisville Samp Army). The other eight teams are Bangla Tigers, Deccan Gladiators, Team Abu Dhabi, Delhi Bulls, The Chennai Braves, and the Northern Warriors. Star players like Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, S Sreesanth, Kieron Pollard, Shakib Al Hasan, Wanindu Hasaranga, Tim David, Andre Russell, and David Miller will take part in these eight teams.

The opening game will be played between the new team New York Strikers and Bangla Tigers at 7:45 PM IST. The Strikers will be laid by Kieron Pollard and some of his team members are Eoin Morgan, Stuart Binny, and Wahab Riaz. On the other hand, Bangla Tigers are guided by Bangladeshi T20I skipper Shakib-AL-Hasan and also include fast bowler S Sreesanth from India. Harbhajan Singh is set to play for the 2021 runners-up in Delhi Bulls along with Dwayne Bravo, Tim David, and Rilee Rossouw.

Broadcom acquiring VMware for $61 bln but the UK is closely watching the deal

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) of the United Kingdom said on Monday that it has launched a preliminary investigation into Broadcom’s proposed acquisition of VMware. The agency is now collecting feedback from interested parties by December 6th to help them decide whether to officially begin a detailed phase 1 investigation into the transaction.

The CMA said it was considering whether this transaction constitutes a ‘relevant merger situation as defined by the Enterprise Act of 2002, and if it does, ‘whether the creation of that situation may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services.’

Following the preliminary assessment, the CMA may launch a full ‘phase 1’ investigation if it believes the acquisition will result in a significant decline in competition in any UK markets.

 The $61 billion Broadcom-VMware deal, announced in May, is the second largest in 2022, after Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision, and shows Broadcom’s ambition to push into enterprise software.

Broadcom’s most well-known business is its chip division, which designs and manufactures semiconductors for modems, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth chips used in some products. On the other hand, VMware has long been regarded as one of the key participants in the cloud computing industry. Large corporations utilize their services to manage data centers, private and public cloud networks, and other infrastructure.

Broadcom might diversify away from its primary business of developing and selling chips and into corporate software, which has the potential for better profits, by purchasing VMware.

To accelerate innovation and meet the most demanding IT infrastructure requirements, Broadcom claims that the new company would provide corporate customers with a greater selection of significant infrastructure solutions.

The proposed merger between Broadcom and VMware is also being investigated by the European Commission, which plans to announce its preliminary findings on December 20. The US Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) probe into the deal has evolved to a more in-depth stage.

Due to worries about the concentration of too much market power in too few hands and the potential for larger firms to purchase start-ups solely to shut them down, regulators from all over the world have been closely scrutinizing tech mergers.

Intel Foundry Services head steps down from his position

According to a report from The Register that was confirmed by Intel, Randhir Thakur, the head of Intel’s contract chip fabrication unit, has quit. He will continue to manage Intel Foundry Services through the first quarter of 2023 to guarantee a smooth transfer to a new leader.

Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger sent an email to workers congratulating Randhir Thakur for helping to build IFS and for being crucial in the company’s IDM 2.0 business strategy. Indeed, Randhir Thakur has much to be proud of at IFS. During his tenure, Intel revealed its intention to acquire Tower Semiconductor (which would immediately make Intel one of the biggest contract makers of chips). He was also key in striking arrangements with major chip developers such as MediaTek, which is also one of TSMC’s main clients. This was a significant gain for IFS, which also received a contract from the US Department of Defense for the Rapid Assured Microelectronics Prototypes – Commercial (RAMP-C) program.

“Randhir has been a key member of the Executive Leadership Team for the past two and a half years and has served in several senior leadership roles since he joined us in 2017,” Intel’s CEO wrote in the email quoted by The Register. “His contributions to our [Integrated Device Manufacturing] 2.0 transformation are many but most notable is his leadership in standing up our IFS business.”

But based on what we know about Intel’s process technology roadmap through 2025, IFS is hardly a perfect contract chipmaker.

Although Intel is an IDM (Integrated Design Manufacturer), the company’s intentions as of now mostly align its production nodes to its fabrication methods, which may not be enough to convince businesses like Apple, AMD, and Nvidia to use IFS services for their high-volume products.

The most sensible course of action for Intel may be to transfer management of the foundry branch to Tower Semiconductor. The deal is expected to be finalized in February 2023, which is close to Randhir Thakur’s departure date. The management experience will be crucial for the future of IFS because Tower Semiconductor has been developing its roadmap in collaboration with its clients for years.

In the third quarter of the company’s fiscal year 2022, the Intel Foundry Services business unit made $171 million, which might not sound like much given that it represented about 1.1% of the total sales of the organization. The club have been forced to cancel the striker’s contract after his interview with Piers Morgan, where he publicly called out the owners, board, manager and his teammates.

Disciplinary issues have plagued the Portugal international’s season, with him walking out of the game against Spurs. He has also said that he doesn’t respect Erik Ten Hag publicly, alongside a series of other such comments.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk says the firm is done with layoffs and is hiring again after firing around two-thirds of the microblogging platform’s 7,500 employees in barely three weeks after taking control. Musk also said during a meeting with employees that Twitter is currently actively hiring for positions in engineering and sales, according to The Verge.

“In terms of critical hires, I would say people who are great at writing software are the highest priority,” the report quoted Musk as saying.

According to the CEO, there are “no plans” to put the company’s headquarters in Texas, as he did with Tesla, however “dual-headquartered” locations in Texas and California might make sense.

According to a recent 9to5 Mac story, the Apple iCloud Windows program appears to have a bizarre problem that displays photographs and videos of strangers when users try to access their Photo Library.

Aside from the random photographs and videos from other people, several customers claim that the Windows software is damaging their footage. Given these flaws, numerous iCloud for Windows users have begun to complain about them publicly.
