Ben Chilwell ruled out for 2022 World Cup with a hamstring injury

0

Ben Chilwell will miss the 2022 World Cup, having sustained a hamstring injury in Chelsea’s match against Dinamo Zagreb. His absence has been confirmed by the club in an official statement, and he could be out of action until February as he recovers.

“Following the injury vs Dinamo, Ben has undergone a scan – results show that Ben has suffered a significant injury, he’s unfortunately expected to miss the World Cup”, Chelsea’s official website read.

Ben Chilwell’s hamstring injury delivers major blow to England squad

“Following my ACL injury I worked so hard to make sure I was ready for the World Cup. It has always been a dream of mine. Unfortunately, this won’t be possible following my scan results. I’ll do all I can to get back playing for Chelsea ASAP. Thanks for the messages of support,” Ben Chilwell wrote on his social media accounts

The left-back exited the field limping against Zagreb, and was seen on crutches. The scans showed that he suffered a tear, and will require rehabilitation for the next few months to get back to full fitness.

Alongside Chilwell, Reece James is also out injured but is facing a race against time to be fit for the World Cup. The right-back has spoken positively about his intentions, and could still make the England squad, unlike his teammate.

Mascot and Ball details about the 2022 World Cup you still might not know about

0

Only weeks away from the 2022 World Cup, there are a number of details that you might still be unaware of. One of those is the mascot of the tournament, which was released on April 1 during the launch event of the competition.

The mascot this year is La’eeb, a white, smiling, football-playing turban which signifies the Qatari culture. The ball with which he was featured is not the same as the Al Rihla (‘the journey’) ball that will be used during the tournament.

2022 World Cup – Details you might have missed

“La’eeb comes from the metaverse of mascots, a parallel universe that cannot be described in words and everyone can imagine it as they wish. La’eeb encourages everyone to believe in themselves,” FIFA said at its launch in April.

The goal of the mascot is to appeal to all audiences of all ages, as confirmed by FIFA themselves.

The official songs of the competition include ‘Hayya Hayya’, released in April, which means better together. “By bringing together voices from the Americas, Africa and the Middle East, this song symbolises how music – and football – can unite the world,” FIFA’s chief commercial officer Kay Madati said.

The 2022 World Cup will begin on November 20, with host country Qatar taking on Ecuador.

Julen Lopetegui named new Wolves manager: Can he save the club’s 22/23 season?

0

Wolves have appointed Julen Lopetegui as their new head coach after a second approach. The former Sevilla in-charge is expected to assume his new role on November 14.

“Julen is a top coach, with excellent experience at an elite level of the game, and we are very pleased to have agreed a deal to bring him to Wolves,” Wolves chairman Jeff Shi said in a statement.

“Since the very beginning, Julen has been our number one choice to manage Wolves, and we look forward to welcoming him and his team when they join us in the coming weeks.”

Can Julen Lopetegui save Wolves’ season?

As of right now, Wolves are second last in the table with 10 points from 14 games. With a very competitive second half of the season, it will be a huge challenge for Julen Lopetegui to keep the team afloat in the top flight.

A challenge for top six, like under Nuno Espirito Santo, will be too early to mount this season. However, the team could be revived in the coming years to be able to perform better.

Julen Lopetegui will take charge of the club after the World Cup, meaning he will have a brief spell to set things up as a pre-season, before the action resumes on Boxing Day.

17-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko breaks another Bundesliga record

0

Youssoufa Moukoko has broken a new record, becoming the youngest player in the Bundesliga to score ten league goals aged 17 years and 350 days. The striker scored a brace in Borussia Dortmund’s win over Bochum to achieve this feat.

This season, he has been in remarkable form, and has scored five goals in 12 appearances for the German side. As a result, a number of other top European clubs are looking at him as a potential transfer target.

Youssoufa Moukoko continues impressive scoring record

The youngster’s contract expires at the end of the season, which means that he could leave on a free transfer. As of now, Borussia Dortmund are not in advanced stages to renew his contract. But, they are not willing to lose him on a free transfer.

“I’ve been here at Borussia Dortmund for 7 years, I feel at home here”, the youngster said after his brace in the game against Bochum.

“I know this club very well and the manager Terzic trusts me”.

Despite being only 17, Youssoufa Moukoko could be included in the Germany national team for the World Cup, given that Timo Werner will be out due to an ankle injury. The official squad list will be out in a few days, where Hansi Flick will confirm the players going to the tournament.

Endrick focused on Palmeiras amidst interest from elite European clubs

0

Despite being only 16 years old, Brazilian wonderkid Endrick has been attracting interest from some of the top clubs in the world. He recently became the youngest goalscorer in the history of Palmeiras, and has achieved a tally of three goals in five league appearances.

The likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG and Chelsea have all been keeping tabs on the player. But, as of right now, he is focused on staying at Palmeiras for he won’t be allowed to move abroad until he is 18 due to legal barriers.

Endrick speaks out about interest from European clubs

Here is what the player had to say when asked about the interest from European clubs: “I don’t care, no. I’m at Palmeiras, my head is in Palmeiras. I don’t care who is coming from outside. I’m making my career and giving my life for Palmeiras. Obviously, if one day I go to Europe, my head will be on the team, but I have to do my job at Palmeiras, do my best. I don’t like to see who’s after me, scouting. I just want to play and make my family happy.”

There was recent speculation that suggested Real Madrid were on the verge of finalising a transfer. However, Endrick’s father has denied those claims:

“There’s nothing decided for Real Madrid or any other club. We’ve no preference yet.”

“We’ll decide in the next months, the club that will pay what Palmeiras want and show us the best technical project for Endrick, will sign the boy”.

ISL 2022/23: Iranian Player Sent Off After Displaying Message Of Support For Iranian Women

Vafa Hakhamaneshi scored the winner for Chennaiyin FC against East Bengal in the Indian Super League (ISL) on Friday. The 69th minute strike from the tall defender was his first of the season.

More than the manner of the goal, the celebrations caught the attention of many. The Iranian player ran towards the camera, lifted his jersey and revealed a “#Women #Life #Freedom for 11:11” message on his under-shirt. The message was in support for the women in his country.

Iranian Defender Vafa Hakhamaneshi gets sent off after message of solidarity with Iranian protestors

Chennaiyin FC defeated East Bengal 1-0 in a heated contest in the Indian Super League (ISL) match on Friday, a match in which both sides saw red cards. For the Marina Machans, it was defender Vafa Hakhamaneshi who was sent off just after scoring the only goal in the match in the 69th minute.

The clock was just ticking towards the 70th minute in the game between East Bengal FC and Chennaiyin FC. The fixture which never produced a win was ambling towards another dull stalemate. Until Vafa Hakhamaneshi decided to take things into his own hands for the visitors.

The Iranian rose the highest to nod home from a corner from Aakash Sangwan. Thomas Brdaric’s men got their lead and looked set to take the three points home. But all that might not be talked about as much as the moment after the goal when Hakhamaneshi moved away from the goal to celebrate.

The centre-back had received his first yellow around the hour mark for a rash challenge. Vafa Hakhamaneshi got a second yellow card and received his marching orders from referee Umesh Bora. The decision to celebrate like that and the resulting yellow card has left people in different schools of thought.

On scoring and celebrating the way he did, he received a yellow card – as dictated by FIFA rules. It was his second of the game, which meant he was sent off. But that doesn’t matter to him, not nearly as much as the message he wanted to send.

Vafa’s message symbolised solidarity with the protesting women in his native country of Iran. Iranian citizens are currently protesting against the government following the detention and allegedly merciless killing of Mahsa Amini. The “morality police” of Iran allegedly detained Amini on the account of her clothing. The 22-year-old woman Amini was pronounced dead in custody on September 16th. The incident left a scar on the nation and has led to widespread protests from women in Iran.

This was chanted during Mahsa Amini’s funeral, the woman who was allegedly killed by the country’s religious morality police for not wearing the hijab, in accordance with the government’s guidelines. However, there was conjecture around whether the defender actually removed his shirt. Support poured in in support of the player and his decision to show solidarity for Iranian women.

India smartphone shipments dip 11% in Q3, Apple’s iPhone 13 emerges as leader in the chart

1

India’s smartphone shipments declined 11 percent YoY to just over 45 million units in Q3 2022-23 (July-September), according to the latest research from Counterpoint’s Market Monitor service. The YoY decline, which is the first ever for a Q3, can be attributed to the high base last year due to the pent-up demand during Q3 2021-22, as well as lower consumer demand in the entry-tier and budget segments in Q3 ended September 2022. Apple has achieved its largest market share of 5% in India. The company has gained 40 percent of the market share of premium smartphones, the research says.

India Smartphone Shipments Show YoY Q3 Decline, iPhone Model Tops India Shipment Chart

Last year’s iPhone 13 has become the best-selling phone in India as per a Quarter 3 analysis by Counterpoint Research. This is also the first time an iPhone has topped the smartphone shipment in India. Meanwhile, the overall shipments for Q3 have declined.

However, the report reveals that the overall shipments declined by 11% YoY with a total of 54 million units only in the July-September quarter. It is said that the reason for the decrease in numbers is due to the high base last year and lower demand for the entry-tier and budget phones in Q3, 2022. Almost all brands were impacted by the lower-than-expected shipments but the budget segment was the most affected.

Commenting on the market dynamics, Senior Research Analyst Prachir Singh said, “Consumer demand started increasing in August and peaked in the last week of September during the festive sales, especially in the mid-tier and premium segments. However, as the market exited Q2 2022 with high inventory, and there was modest demand in the entry-tier and budget segments, we saw less than expected shipments during Q3 2022. Almost all the brands were impacted, especially in the entry-tier and budget segments. The unfavourable macroeconomic conditions will continue to affect the Indian smartphone market in Q4 2022 as well, especially after Diwali. However, we may witness a demand uptick during the year-end sales.”

India’s mobile handset market (including both smartphones and feature phones) declined 15% YoY in Q3 2022. The feature phone market registered a decline of 24% YoY due to adverse macroeconomic conditions continuing to impact the bottom-of-the-pyramid users. itel led India’s feature phone market in Q3 2022 with a 28% share. itel has been the top feature phone brand for almost three years in a row now.

Data shows that in Q3 2022, Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi was the market leader in India. But due to lack of customers in the entry market, the company’s shipments fell 19% YoY. Xiaomi was the leading 5G smartphone brand in Q3 2022 in the sub-20,000 price range, it said. Vivo and Samsung retained their positions in second and third place, respectively. Samsung was the only smartphone manufacturer among the top five to record annual growth,

Galaxy S23 Series to be launched without Exynos processor

0

Samsung‘s next big thing, the Galaxy S23 series, is already in the works and is expected to launch in the first half of 2023. One source indicated that the phones would be on sale in January, while the most recent leak we have pointed to a February launch.

However, the most recent tip we have for you is unquestionably sound. There has been a lot of conjecture regarding the release date and technical specifications of the phones.

Galaxy S23 Series processor details

The Exynos 2300 does not exist, at least not for the forthcoming flagships, since the Galaxy S23 series is solely going to be built on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This information was provided by Ice Universe in a shared photograph.

This supports the tipster’s earlier tweet, which stated that the Exynos 2300 has never been the subject of any information. In the paper shared in the tweet above, the CFO of Qualcomm states that the market share increases from 75% in the Galaxy S22 to worldwide in the Galaxy S23.

The Samsung Galaxy S22’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 variant was available in the vast majority of markets around the world earlier this year, while the Exynos variant was only available in a select handful. This may seem like a relatively minor distinction at first glance, but it is important to note. If the rumours are accurate, the Galaxy S23 will be released next year with identical features for every country, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

This is undoubtedly welcome news because, if you’ve had an opportunity to use the Galaxy S22 with Exynos, you know that it felt very different—and not in a good way—than the other type.
