Between Samsung and China’s BOE, a deal for OLED panels has been cancelled

0

Longtime client of China’s BOE supplier, Samsung, a Korean technology behemoth, has been buying OLED and LCD panels. They reached an understanding that was easy to implement and enjoyable.

The BOE-supplied panels were utilised by TV and cell phone manufacturers. The most recent data indicates that Samsung is no longer interested in buying the OLED panels supplied by the BOE. The deal reached by the two companies will reportedly be cancelled starting in 2023.

Samsung and China’s BOE Cancellation details

Samsung removed BOE from its official supplier list, according to a list TheElec obtained, so the company will no longer be buying products from the Chinese manufacturer. The recent BOE royalty payment issues are what led to this.

Reports state that BOE rejected the South Korean company’s request for royalties for using the their name in its marketing. It has since stopped buying as many display panels from BOE.

They have made use of the panels provided by the BOE in their smartphones and other products. It has since been made clear that BOE is no longer included in the brand’s official list of suppliers, which it previously concealed.

Josko Gvardiol race open for 2023 transfer

0

Josko Gvardiol is one of the brightest young defenders in Europe right now. The Croatian has been mighty impressive in the World Cup for the national team as well. And his performance had an important part to play in the 2018 finalists reaching the group stage this time around.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with signing him, but there hasn’t been any formal negotiation with RB Leipzig as of yet.

Josko Gvardiol open to a bigger challenge after RB Leipzig

“Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world, so who knows… maybe one day I can play there. I would like to, yes,” said Josko Gvardiol when asked about potentially playing for Real Madrid one day.

“Luka doesn’t have to tell me anything about Real Madrid, it’s not necessary. I already know everything, I know it’s the biggest club in the world and how important it is to be linked to a team like that,” explained the youngster.

The release clause in his contract with the German side is not valued at €45 million. And unlike the transfer for Christopher Nkunku, this one hasn’t been completed by Chelsea yet. Several clubs are keeping tabs on him and it remains an open race so far.

Apple M2 Max 12-core CPU spotted in Geekbench

0

The most recent benchmarks of Apple’s future M2 Max CPU, which will have 12 cores, were leaked, revealing a 20% boost over the M1 Max. The Apple M2 Max CPU will be aimed at the next generation of Macbooks and will provide higher performance per core and per watt than the current M1 Max CPUs. The high-end CPUs will not be the greatest in Apple’s portfolio because that honour will still be claimed by Apple’s M2 Ultra CPUs, which will be released later in 2023.

In comparison to the M1 Max, which had a maximum of 10 cores, the Apple M2 Max CPU will have a total of 12 cores, an increase of 2 cores. The precise performance and efficiency core configuration is something we are unable to discuss with certainty just yet. The CPU had 4 MB of L2 cache and operated at a base frequency of 3.54 GHz. The particular Mac additionally had 96 GB of inbuilt memory. The chip’s maximum clock speeds were roughly 3.7 GHz, according to the Geekbench.

The Apple M2 Max CPU performed well, earning 14586 points in multi-core tests and 1889 points in single-core testing.

In comparison, the Apple M1 Max achieves a single-core score of roughly 1750 and a multi-core score of 12,200. This results in a boost in performance over the previous generation CPU of up to 10% for single-threaded operations and 20% for multi-threaded operations. Being an early leak, it goes without saying that there is still potential for improvement. As launch day approaches, we should expect to see a few percentile gains in the final benchmarks.

The Apple M2 Max performs poorly in both single-core and multi-threaded benchmarks when compared to some contemporary CPUs, such as the Core i9-13900K “Raptor Lake” from Intel and the Ryzen 7000 “Zen 4” from AMD. These desktop CPUs offer over 2000 points in single-core and over 20,000 points in multi-threaded benchmarks.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 6000 48 GB Workstation GPU is now selling for $7350 US

0

The RTX 6000, a workstation graphics card from NVIDIA based on the Ada GPU architecture, is currently on sale for $7350 US. The Pro driver suite will be used by the NVIDIA RTX 6000 graphics card, which targets the workstation market.

Even if gaming is not meant for it, it may still be done on it because NVIDIA’s drivers are quite adaptable. One might easily become confused by the new card’s naming scheme, but one should keep in mind that the model names for the Ampere generation began with an “A,” whereas those for the Ada generation don’t. Instead of RTX A6000, the card is simply referred to as the RTX 6000.

The GeForce RTX 4090 is outperformed by the NVIDIA RTX 6000 in terms of specifications. At 142, there are just 2 SMs that are disabled and can support up to 18,176 CUDA cores.

The RTX 4090 GPU has 11% fewer cores and SMs than that. However, NVIDIA undoubtedly has room for an even more expensive model that will utilise those 2 remaining SM units. The card has a similar boost frequency of 2.5 GHz and doubles the amount of VRAM (EEC), with 48 GB as opposed to the RTX 4090’s 24 GB. The card does use slower 20 Gbps GDDR6X memory dies as opposed to the gaming graphics card’s 21 Gbps dies.

The NVIDIA RTX 6000 “Ada” graphics card has a performance of 91.1 TFLOPs for FP32, 210.6 TFLOPs for RT, and 1457 TFLOPs for Tensor cores. The RTX 6000 is rated at under 300W, making it quite an efficiency powerhouse compared to the RTX 4090, which needs 450W TBP. However, all of that added power and wonderful workstation features come at a price.

Currently, the CompSource outlet has the NVIDIA RTX 6000 graphics card listed at $8200 US, while ShopBLT has the same model listed for $7350 US. That costs about 4.5 times as much as the RTX 4090 graphics card. It is also about 50% to 60% more expensive than the A6000, which was sold for $4500 to $5,000 US.

0

The group stage of the 2022 World Cup has been played to a conclusion now, and we know the 16 teams that will be participating in the knockout rounds.

It was an immensely surprising three matchdays, with the underdogs emerging victorious in multiple games. Moreover, renowned countries like Germany, Belgium, Uruguay and Mexico have failed to make it out of their groups amidst all the crazy action.

World Cup 2022 Round of 16 Preview

Here are all the 16 teams that will be playing in the knockout stages of the Qatar World Cup:

  1. Brazil
  2. Portugal
  3. France
  4. Argentina
  5. Switzerland
  6. Spain
  7. Japan
  8. South Korea
  9. Poland
  10. Australia
  11. Netherlands
  12. England
  13. USA
  14. Senegal
  15. Morocco
  16. Croatia

And here is how the fixtures look like:

December 3 – Netherlands vs USA – Khalifa International Stadium, Al Rayyan (8:30 PM IST)

December 4 – Argentina vs Australia – Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Al Rayyan (12:30 AM IST)

December 4 – France vs Poland – Al Thumama Stadium, Doha (8:30 PM IST)

December 6 – Morocco vs Spain – Education City Stadium, Al Rayyan (8:30 PM IST)

December 7 – Portugal vs Switzerland – Lusail Iconic Stadium, Lusail (12:30 AM IST)

Morocco, Australia, Japan and South Korea have stunned the world with their remarkable performances in the group stage. But, it only gets more difficult from here for all the teams.

A final between Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal and Lionel Messi’s Argentina is possible, provided the two can defeat all the teams en route to the last match.

A semi-final tie between Brazil and Argentina alongside France vs Portugal is also possible, if these strong teams can make it through. But given the way the tournament has been going, it is anybody’s guess as to what happens next.

The new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 8GB GDDR6X memory tested

0

Quite strangely, NVIDIA has recently updated its existing & popular RTX 3060 with 8GB GDDR6X memory alongside the RTX 3060 Ti as well. However, instead of a 12GB VRAM treatment that was in the original, this one around gets 1/3rd less memory but still if it would give better performance for the faster memory that would have been acceptable but it’s not.

The memory bus on this RTX 3060 8GB has been dropped from 192-bit to 128-bit which is not strange at all considering the drop in memory. This poses a serious drop in performance even though the memory is fast because these days high-end games tend to use more VRAM now it doesn’t matter much if it’s high speed or not unless it has a wider memory bus.

Apart from this change in GDDR6X memory, there is no change in the core specs of this GPU, housing up to 3584 CUDA cores and 170W TDP. Ironically, instead of having a model called RTX 3050 Ti just in between the RTX 3050 and RTX 3060, NVIDIA chose to reduce the performance of the already popular RTX 3060 for no reason.

via Hardware Unboxed

Hardware Unboxed actually tested the GPU at both 1080p & 1440p and found there’s a huge performance gap between the original RTX 3060 12GB and this RTX 3060 8GB due to the bandwidth. You see a gap of up to 17% due to this at 1080p while it shortens at 1440p but there’s a noticeable performance difference because of the lesser bandwidth.

Now, this new model has already made its way into many countries like the US where the prices of the regular 12GB RTX 3060 are similar to that of the new as per Videocardz. On the other hand, as Hardware Unboxed said it’s again 100 AUD cheaper in Australia, so it’s very difficult for an average consumer to spot the difference.

On NVIDIA’s side, this price and launching a 2-year-old GPU with new memory that is too crippled at weird pricing makes no sense, instead, they could have launched this as an RTX 3050 Ti with competitive pricing to target more gamers. In India, as of now, we haven’t seen this RTX 3060 with 8GB GDDR6X memory hitting retail and there are huge stocks of normal RTX 3060 12GB including the OC ones, so, go get them before these stupid ones arrive.

World Cup Group G: Brazil and Switzerland make it through to last 16

0

Switzerland defeated Serbia in a thrilling fixture to seal their spot in the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup. The two European sides played out a first half scoring two goals each, with no shortage of entertainment.

However, Switzerland had the last laugh with a 3-2 win over Serbia. Although Cameroon were able to defeat Brazil, it was not enough for them to go through as the Swiss had earned six points themselves.

Brazil and Switzerland through to World Cup last 16 from group G

Dusan Vlahovic and Aleksandar Mitrovic scored for Serbia in the first half itself. But, goals from Swiss talisman Xherdan Shaqiri, Breel Embolo and Remi Freuler were enough to help them earn three essential points to go through.

Freuler’s goal came early in the second half, and helped the team have an advantage to defend for over 40 minutes.

Brazil fielded a drastically changed line-up, having already qualified for the knockout stages of the World Cup. And they were unable to get the better of Cameroon to make it three wins out of three. They will be facing South Korea in their Round of 16 tie, while Switzerland will face Portugal.

World Cup 2022 Group H: Uruguay heartbroken as South Korea snatch 2nd place

0

In a shocking turn of events, Uruguay were eliminated at the group stage of the 2022 World Cup alongside Ghana. A late goal from South Korea against Portugal, who had already qualified, helped them earn qualification against all odds.

The South American team were victorious against Ghana by a 2-0 margin. But, with South Korea beating Portugal 2-1, they needed to score another goal to make it through.

Uruguay and Ghana bow out of 2022 World Cup

In a callback to the last infamous encounter between the two, Ghana were awarded a penalty in their game against Uruguay. But, just like last time, they were unable to convert.

In spite of not winning the game, they had the last laugh, not allowing their opponents passage into the World Cup Last 16 by the finest of margins. There were several close chances that the Black Stars defended well against to reduce the margin of defeat, and extract revenge.

South Korea, on the other hand, picked up the win very late in the game, after Son Heung-Min carried the ball solo in a counter attack, and passed it to Hwang Hee Chan to make it 2-1. In doing so, they became the third AFC team to enter the knockout stages alongside Japan and Australia.
