Raja Koduri Highlights the Importance of PC GPUs from NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel in AI and Data Center Success

0

Raja Koduri, an executive at Intel and the founder of Mahira AI, brings an interesting perspective to the conversation about how AI intersects with data centers. He emphasizes the importance of having GPUs specifically designed for PCs to drive success in today’s ecosystem.

More About Raja Koduri’s Statement about PC GPUs

Koduri mentions the popularity of gaming GPUs among consumers highlighting their affordability and accessibility compared to workstation versions. These GPUs are well-received by users and play a role, in providing easy access to AMD Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce GPUs for developers worldwide.

However, Koduri raises concerns about the structure of GPU offerings potentially limiting accessibility and adoption among developers. He suggests that tech giants like AMD and Intel may need to reconsider their strategies for consumer GPUs since these tools are essential for PC developers. Koduri believes that platforms such as AMD ROCm and Intels SYCL stacks might be overshadowing PC-oriented GPUs causing developers to overlook opportunities.

He also notes that NVIDIA and AMD hold a position in this area compared to Intel, which ironically hinders the developer community’s willingness to embrace Intels consumer-grade GPUs. Developers typically seek a balance between high-quality gaming performance and advanced AI capabilities so they may need to reconsider their preference, for consumer-grade GPUs if manufacturers do not address these concerns.

Raja Koduri attributes this situation to the dominance of the AI ecosystem, where GPU manufacturers prioritize AI accelerators over an audience. ZLUDA provides a way to use NVIDIAs CUDA libraries, on the ROCm stack. The performance on GPUs may vary in today’s setups creating potential hurdles, for developers.

Raja Koduri

Despite recent developments such as NVIDIA’s TensorRT-LLM support and AMD’s ROCm support for certain Radeon GPUs, Raja Koduri suggests that manufacturers must rethink the software ecosystem’s progression to meet the evolving needs of developers in the AI PC era. While these advancements may not concern the average gamer, they are crucial for developers navigating the modern landscape of AI capabilities and software stacks.

Dimensity 9400 Reportedly Equipped with New ARM’s Immortalis-G900 GPU

0

MediaTek is anticipated to stick with ARM’s CPU and GPU designs when they release the Dimensity 9400 this year. Reports indicate that the flagship SoC will feature a configuration including one Cortex X5 and three Cortex X4 cores along, with the ARM Immortalis G900 series GPU. Initial tests show a 10% difference in graphics performance compared to the Dimensity 9300.

Dimensity 9400

More About the Dimensity 9400

Although the specific model of the Immortalis GPU remains undisclosed there are speculations that it might be the Immortalis G920 for the Dimensity 9400 considering the Dimensity 9300 uses the Immortalis G720. However, performance results show an improvement with benchmarks suggesting that the Dimensity 9400 achieves 110FPS in GFXBench Aztec compared to 99FPS for the Dimensity 9300.

The similarity in performance brings to mind a comparison involving Apple’s M3 GPU which also showed underwhelming results, in GFXBench compared to its predecessor M2. It is suggested that optimizations may be needed in benchmarking tools to accurately showcase each chipset’s capabilities. There could also be issues where the software fails to recognize or differentiate features of the Dimensity 9400 GPU.

The leaked Geekbench 6 scores show that the Dimensity 9300 performs comparably to leaks achieving 10,000 points in both single-core and multi-core tests. However, it falls slightly behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. There are also rumors circulating about the Cortex X5 element, in the Dimensity 9400’s CPU cluster showing performance at clock speeds due to increased power consumption and reduced multi-core performance, at lower frequencies.

MediaTek’s reliance on ARM’s CPU and GPU designs in the long term leaves little room for alternatives. While readers are advised to approach these rumors with caution, MediaTek may need to further optimize the Cortex-X5 to strike a balance between power and efficiency. Failure to do so risks diminishing the momentum garnered by the Dimensity 9300, which analysts at Morgan Stanley consider to be the most potent smartphone chipset currently available.

Berlin Season 2: Netflix Confirms the Return of the ‘Money Heist’ Prequel for Another Thrilling Heist

Berlin Season 2: Netflix has officially announced the return of Berlin, the much-talked-about prequel to the global phenomenon Money Heist. This confirmation comes as a beacon of good news amidst the sea of anticipation and speculation, promising more intricate heists and romantic entanglements. However, the excitement is tinged with a bit of patience, as the production timeline indicates a longer wait for the series’ return.

A Stellar Debut and a Promising Future

Berlin made its grand entrance on Netflix during the holiday season, capturing the hearts and minds of viewers worldwide. Its initial season’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, catapulting it into Netflix’s top 10 most-watched shows in the first 91 days of release. It surpassed other hits like ‘Dear Child’ and is hot on the heels of ‘All of Us Are Dead.’ The series enjoyed a prominent spot in the Netflix global top 10s for seven consecutive weeks, with a notable 97% increase in viewing hours from the first to the second week. Such impressive numbers decided for a second season a foregone conclusion.

What to Expect in Berlin Season 2

With the renewal announcement, a teaser featuring Pedro Alonso as Berlin hinted at the return with a glimpse of the enigmatic character stepping into an elevator, the number 2 ominously overlaying the scene. This short clip has set the stage for another elaborate heist, deepening relationships, and the complex dynamics that made the first season a standout.

The casting news further fuels the anticipation, with key players Michelle Jenner (Keila), Tristán Ulloa (Damián), Begoña Vargas (Cameron), Julio Peña Fernández (Roi), and Joel Sánchez (Bruce) all confirmed to reprise their roles. Their chemistry and performances were pivotal to the first season’s success, promising an equally compelling follow-up.

The Wait for Production to Begin

Despite the excitement, fans will have to temper their eagerness with patience. Production for the second season is slated to start no earlier than 2025, pushing the potential release to mid-to-late 2025 or even into 2026. The delay is attributed to unspecified reasons, though it’s speculated that the busy schedules of the cast and the creators, Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, could be a factor. Pina and Lobato are also immersed in their upcoming Netflix project, ‘El Refugio Atómico’ (The Fallout Shelter), currently in production.

Broader Horizons for Spanish-Language Content on Netflix

The renewal of Berlin is part of a broader trend of successful Spanish-language content on Netflix. Shows like ‘Elite,’ gearing up for its final season in 2024, and ‘The Snow Girl,’ returning for a second season, highlight the platform’s commitment to diverse and engaging storytelling. Moreover, Álex Pina’s hint at the potential return of the ‘Money Heist’ series in some form adds another layer of excitement for fans of the franchise.

The confirmation of Berlin Season 2 brings a mix of emotions to its eager audience. While the promise of another season filled with cunning heists and complex relationships is thrilling, the extended wait underscores the challenges and intricacies of producing a beloved series. Nonetheless, the success of Berlin and its place within the rich tapestry of Spanish-language content on Netflix speaks volumes about the universal appeal of well-crafted stories, regardless of the wait.

As the details of Season 2 slowly unfold, fans worldwide will undoubtedly keep their excitement simmering, ready for the return of Berlin and his crew to the screen. Stay Tuned!

Our investigation will not be limited to Delhi. We have reasons to believe through evidences, such practice in other cities too, and will form a wider network for our investigations,” Chaubey said in a release from the AIFF.

We are not limiting our investigation to one match here. Several incremental shreds of evidence have been found which cast serious doubts on the entire league,” Kalyan Chaubey told ANI.

AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey further declared that he would hold a meeting with the Joint Commissioner of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau to get the issue resolved.

Kalyan Chaubey also added that he will be meeting the Anti-Corruption Bureau to help them with the investigation to get to the end of this scam.

I will be meeting the Joint Commissioner of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau to help us investigate it thoroughly and to get to the root of this syndicate. DSA has been advised to file an FIR immediately. Our investigation will not be limited to Delhi. We have reasons to believe through pieces of evidence, such practice in other cities too, and will form a wider network for our investigations,” Chaubey added.

Delhi Soccer Association Takes Action Against Alleged Match Fixing Scandal

Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) President Anuj Gupta asserted that he informed about the issue to the Delhi Police ad feels that the match officials (referees) are involved in this matter too.

This is so shocking that such an incident happened in our league and we are on it for investigation and I informed the Delhi Police in this matter. I am looking for both clubs’ details along with players’ details and have to rectify whether they belong to Delhi or not and I feel referees are also involved in this,” Gupta said.
