Geekbench has offered a first look at Qualcomm‘s imminent middle-class SoC: the Snapdragon 7s Gen3. Processors with an “s” in their name usually denote a small step down from the standard non-“s” counterpart, which is again true of the 7s Gen 3. We already know that it performs much like the regular Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.

Geekbench 6.3 scores show that the Snapdragon 7s Gen3 reaches as high as 1,157 in single-core and up to nearly a score of around 3157 in multi-core sections. The scores peg it within spitting distance of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which scored 1,147 and 3,129. This incremental change only highlights its small nature of it.

The new chip offers a mild performance upgrade over its predecessor, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2: single-core speed is up by about 15% and multicore gains are around 12%. These gains are standard fare for mid-range quarterly updates and don’t mean much exciting is going on.
