Twelve frames. That’s all it takes for Tommy Maximoff to vanish into a blue blur in the newest VisionQuest trailer. It’s a tiny moment, but it says a lot about how Marvel is treating its speedsters.

Quick Snapshot

Detail	Info
Series	VisionQuest (Disney+)
Tommy played by	Ruaridh Mollica
Jocasta played by	T’Nia Miller
Also starring	Paul Bettany (Vision), James Spader (Ultron)
Speed effect	Blue blur, seen for about 12 frames
Premiere	See note below

What the Trailer Shows

The trailer gives us the first look at Jocasta, Ultron’s “bride,” and at Vision’s son Tommy. Ultron hints that Wanda’s Hex had a consequence, and the trailer then cuts to Tommy. When he asks Vision what he isn’t telling him, Vision replies that this is a fight he likely won’t win. That fight seems to be internal, as Ultron tries to take over his body.

Tommy can’t help there, but he can turn the tide against Jocasta. Before using his speed, he vibrates until he becomes a blur. With Vision nowhere in sight, he then rescues Mary McDonnell’s character from Jocasta.

How Does the Effect Compare?

The Direct’s breakdown is interesting:

Speedster	Look of the speed
Tommy (VisionQuest)	Quick blue blur, no glowing trail
Pietro (Age of Ultron)	Glowing outlines of afterimages
Tommy (WandaVision)	Smeared afterimages with a bright glow
Peter (Fox X-Men)	Closest match, a brief blur
Makkari (Eternals)	Light streaks and sonic booms
The Flash (film and CW)	Constant lightning

Despite lacking that glowing trail, Tommy seems even faster than his late uncle. The Direct hopes the show gives him time to shine and maybe shows new uses for his powers that Pietro never got to display. That last point is the outlet’s wish, not a confirmed plot detail.

A Date to Double-Check

The Direct’s article lists an October 17 premiere, but another Direct report says a two-episode premiere arrives October 14. Please confirm the date on Disney+ before publishing anything specific.
