BLACKPINK’s Rosé Opens Up on Her New Album, Self-Discovery, and Redefining “Home”

BLACKPINK’s Rosé just gave fans a rare, unfiltered look into her creative world — and it’s less about chart numbers, more about the quiet work of figuring herself out. In a candid sit-down with ELLE Korea for her latest pictorial, the singer spoke about her upcoming album, the emotional weight of making it, and how her definition of “home” has completely shifted.

BLACKPINK: Key Takeaways From the Interview

Music as a Time Capsule

Rosé described the album-making process as deeply introspective — a way of channelling everything she’s lived through into one body of work. She admitted the process forces her to face parts of herself she’d normally avoid, calling it something close to packing years of experience into a single container. That kind of honesty has become something of a signature for her solo work, distinct from her group releases with BLACKPINK, the K-pop act she’s been part of since 2016.

Learning to Sit Still

Perhaps the most relatable part of the interview wasn’t about music at all. Rosé talked about shifting away from a workaholic mindset, now allowing herself to rest on the sofa or take her time with small routines — things she once considered a waste of time. Add in low-key hobbies like origami, and it paints a picture of an artist deliberately slowing down between global tours and comebacks.

She’s also rethinking what “home” means after years of living out of suitcases across different countries, now describing it more as an internal sense of comfort than a fixed address.

Why This Matters for Fans

Solo interviews like this one matter because they hint at direction before an album’s official rollout — tone, inspiration, and mindset often shape how a project gets received. With Rosé signalling a more personal, self-reflective era, fans can expect her next release to lean into vulnerability rather than pure spectacle.
