There’s something quietly poetic about Bhuvneshwar Kumar. No fanfare, no theatrics — just a run-up, a perfect seam position, and another batsman trudging back to the pavilion. On April 30, 2026, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India’s premier swing bowler etched his name into T20 history once again.
During the IPL 2026 match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Bhuvneshwar Kumar became only the second bowler ever to claim 350 wickets in men’s T20 cricket. His victim? GT opener Sai Sudharsan was caught brilliantly by a diving Jitesh Sharma behind the stumps.

Why This Record Matters
This isn’t just a number. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is now the first Indian pacer to complete 350 T20 wickets, beating Jasprit Bumrah — who still needed three wickets at the time — to the milestone. For a bowler often written off as “past his prime,” this is a statement of enduring class.
Bhuvneshwar sits second overall among Indians, behind only leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who leads with an impressive 391 T20 wickets. Bhuvi is also only the 12th pace bowler in history to reach this landmark globally — a remarkable feat for a format often dominated by spinners.

The Bumrah Comparison — Quality vs Volume
Here’s the nuance cricket fans must appreciate: Bumrah reached 347 wickets in just 275 innings, while Bhuvneshwar took 324 innings for his tally — meaning Bumrah’s rate is arguably superior, but Bhuvi’s longevity and consistency are unmatched. Two different artists, same beautiful craft.
