Bharti Airtel’s Bold Move: Doubling Campus Hiring Initiatives for Future Growth

Bharti Airtel, a major player in India’s telecommunications sector, is set to significantly expand its campus recruitment efforts, signaling a positive outlook for the industry. The New Delhi-based company plans to double its campus hiring activities this fiscal year, targeting a larger number of campuses.

Bharti Airtel Doubling the Campus Hiring

Airtel aims to onboard over 700 campus hires from more than 100 colleges across India to support growth across various business segments, including Mobility, Airtel Business, Homes, Airtel Digital, and Nxtra by Airtel, according to Amrita Padda, Chief People Officer at Bharti Airtel.

These campus hires in the current year will be a mix of final placements and pre-placement offers (PPOs), which are extended to young talent upon completion of their internship programs. This move comes at a time when startups and IT companies, typically preferred by campuses, are cautious about hiring new talent due to funding challenges and a subdued global business environment.

Bharti Airtel is expanding its campus outreach to include institutions like Banasthali Vidyapith (Rajasthan), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, NMIMS Bengaluru, and Goa Institute of Management, in addition to its visits to legacy campuses such as the Indian Institutes of Management, XLRI, MDI, National Institutes of Technology, SIBM-Bangalore, FORE, Christ University, the NorthCap University, and Amity University, among others.

These initiatives complement Airtel’s existing campus programs, such as the Young Leader Programme, Young Technical Leader, Executive Trainee/Store Managers, Graduate Engineer Trainee, Chartered Accountant, and Young Lateral Leader.

The new recruits from these programs will take on various roles, including product managers, area managers, territory sales managers, key account managers, software developers, network engineers, solution architects, and NOC engineers.
