The wait is over. NODWIN Gaming has confirmed that the BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) is back for a fifth season — and this time, every single match counts from day one.
Running from August 10 to September 6, 2026, BGMS Season 5 brings together 24 of India’s top teams for nearly a month of competitive Battlegrounds Mobile India action, culminating in a high-stakes Grand Final.
What’s New in BGMI Season 5
The headline change this season is a refreshed format built around consistency. Instead of front-loading pressure into the final weeks, every league match now contributes directly to a team’s path toward the championship — rewarding steady performers over one-off hot streaks.

Why BGMS Matters for Indian Esports
Speaking on the announcement, Akshat Rathee, Co-Founder and Managing Director of NODWIN Gaming, said the tournament has grown well beyond its original ambition of giving Indian esports a stage worthy of its talent — with players now building longer careers and teams evolving into stronger institutions.
The timing lines up with real momentum in India’s gaming economy. Per Naavik’s India State of Play 2026 report, the country’s mobile gaming market crossed $1 billion in revenue in 2025 and is on track to hit around $1.5 billion in 2026, with shooter titles alone accounting for 43% of in-app purchase revenue. Battle royale games remain the biggest driver of that spending — and BGMS sits right at the center of it.
