BGMI 4.6 Update: Erangel Turns Into a Vampire Hunting Ground With the New Midnight Hunters Mode

Erangel is getting a makeover unlike anything BGMI has done before — and this time, it’s not just cosmetic. KRAFTON India has confirmed that the BGMI 4.6 update drops on September 16, 2026, bringing with it a spine-chilling new theme mode called Midnight Hunters that turns the map’s most familiar spots into a battleground between hunters and vampires.

Erangel Goes Dark

The geography of Erangel stays exactly where players remember it, but almost everything else changes. Rozhok, Mylta, Quarry and Gatka transform into Vampire Takeover POIs, complete with a new mission set, while Stalber and Sosnovka Military Base become the Nightkeeper’s Hunter Guild — an indoor combat arena packed with secrets in its bookshelves, murals and tables. There’s even a clock tower that stuns nearby creatures when shot and Scream Crates that punish failed decryption attempts by giving away your location.

The Twist Nobody Saw Coming

What sets Midnight Hunters apart is a gameplay dynamic BGMI has never offered before: players can switch sides mid-match, gaining a new appearance and abilities as they cross over from hunted to hunter. It’s a fresh way to experience the tense closing minutes of a match.

New Creatures and Tools to Survive

Bloodwalkers stalk players on foot, Nightbats strike from above with sonic attacks, and towering over them all is the Vampire Elder, whose power grows the longer it survives. To fight back, players get themed gear like the Silvermoon Chain — part weapon, part grappling hook, part shield — and the Twilight Bat Wings, which unlock flight for the first time in the game’s map traversal.

BGMI, developed by KRAFTON, has surpassed 260 million downloads in India, making it one of the country’s most-played mobile titles.
