Krafton India just shocked the BGMI esports community by doubling the BGIS 2026 prize pool from ₹2 crore to ₹4 crore—matching the record set by BMPS 2025 as the highest prize pool in India Series history. With registrations closing January 5, 2026, this life-changing opportunity awaits teams ready to compete in India’s most prestigious battlegrounds tournament.
BGIS 2026: Tournament Overview

Historic Prize Pool Increase
The ₹4 crore prize pool surpasses BGIS 2025’s ₹3.2 crore, signaling Krafton‘s commitment to elevating India’s competitive BGMI scene. This marks the second time in history an India Series tournament has reached this milestone, alongside BMPS 2025.
The announcement via in-game banners confirms thousands of aspiring teams now compete for double the initially announced stakes—a game-changing boost that transforms BGIS 2026 into the most lucrative opportunity for Indian battlegrounds players.
Competition Structure: January to March
In-Game Qualifiers (January 8): Thousands of registered teams compete for 1,016 spots in Round 1, with eligibility requiring minimum Level 30 and Platinum I rank.
Rounds 1-4 (Late January-Late February): Qualified teams face invited squads from “The Grind,” progressively narrowing the field through consistent performance across multiple weeks.
Quarter Finals & Wildcard (Early March): High-stakes elimination rounds determine semi-final qualifiers, with wildcard opportunities for teams just outside automatic qualification.
Semi-Finals & Survival Stage (Mid-March): The final hurdles before the main event, where only the most consistent performers advance to the 16-team Grand Finals.
Grand Finals (March 27-29): The tournament culminates in a three-day LAN championship where 16 elite teams battle across 18 matches for the title and largest share of the ₹4 crore prize pool.
Why This Matters for Indian Esports
The doubled prize pool reflects growing investment in India’s mobile esports ecosystem, providing professional opportunities for players and organizations previously limited by smaller tournaments. Teams like GodLike Esports, Orangutan, Team Soul, and True Rippers will compete alongside underdogs for record-breaking payouts.
This investment signals Krafton’s long-term vision for BGMI esports in India, positioning the country as a global battlegrounds hub competing with international prize pools.
Registration Closing Soon
With the January 5 deadline approaching, eligible teams must register immediately to participate. The tournament’s grueling three-month structure demands consistency, strategic depth, and mental fortitude—separating contenders from pretenders in India’s most competitive BGMI season yet.
