Between Steps: Choo Young Woo Seeks a Second Chance as Jang In Sub Complicates the Love Story

Breakups are hard. Being forced to see your ex on campus every day is harder. In tonight’s Between Steps, Park Min Jae finally gathers the courage to approach Im Yoo Jin, but a new rival has entered the story and a dangerous misunderstanding is brewing.

Where Between Steps Story Stands?

Between Steps is a romance directed by the late Ahn Pan Seok, known for Something in the Rain, One Spring Night and The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. It tells the love story of Park Min Jae (Choo Young Woo), a former swimmer who lost his right leg to illness, and Im Yoo Jin (Kim So Hyun), a graduate student who finds a new path after losing her way.

Previously, the pair reunited a year after their breakup and still struggled with unresolved feelings. They had chosen each other despite family opposition and an uncertain future, but eventually parted ways. Even after the truth behind the breakup came out, lingering misunderstandings and resentment kept them apart.

The Awkward Campus Meeting

New stills show the two crossing paths at Seohan University. As Yoo Jin heads to work, Min Jae approaches with a nervous smile. She answers with a cold gaze, making clear she isn’t ready to lower her guard. In an earlier preview, he pleads with her, admits he was wrong and asks for another chance. Their feelings remain, but the wounds haven’t healed.

Enter Lee Ji Hoon

The tension rises with Lee Ji Hoon, played by Jang In Sub, who has also started to express his feelings for Yoo Jin. In one set of stills, he looks visibly upset while Yoo Jin appears conflicted. This turns the story into a classic love triangle built on timing and misunderstanding.

A Dangerous Misunderstanding

After hearing something from Im Yoo Sung (Kim Min Seok), Min Jae mistakenly believes Yoo Jin and Ji Hoon are dating with marriage in mind. After meeting Yoo Jin, he seeks Ji Hoon out separately. The stills show a tense confrontation, and fans are left wondering what he says and how it affects his chances with Yoo Jin.
