Between Steps: A Third Player Shakes Up Kim So Hyun and Choo Young Woo’s Romance

Love is never simple, especially when someone new keeps showing up at the wrong moment. ENA’s romance drama Between Steps has released new stills ahead of its next episode. They show Im Jin Hyo’s character stepping between Choo Young Woo and Kim So Hyun, and the tension is already building.

What Is Between Steps About?

The drama is the work of the late director Ahn Pan Seok, who also helmed Something in the Rain, One Spring Night and The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. It tells the love story of Park Min Jae (Choo Young Woo), a former swimmer who lost his right leg due to illness, and Im Yoo Jin (Kim So Hyun), a graduate student who finds a new path after losing her way. For fans of gentle, emotional romance dramas, it’s a natural pick.

Where the Story Stands?

Min Jae and Yoo Jin recently began dating after promising to stay together until the end. As a couple, they’ve been handling small arguments and the emotional shifts of everyday life. Yoo Jin also faced a new complication when she came face-to-face with Min Jae’s mother, Hong Eun Joo (Shim Hye Jin).

What the New Stills Show?

The stills introduce Kim Se Jin (Im Jin Hyo), who repeatedly steps between the couple. Here’s what they reveal:

• A serious talk: Se Jin and Min Jae are in a heavy conversation. Se Jin has his hands clasped over his head and looks troubled, while Min Jae watches him closely.
• A cold standoff: Yoo Jin and Se Jin trade icy stares, hinting at a quiet war of nerves.
• An open question: Why does Se Jin look so deep in thought, and what made him seek out Min Jae?

A Playful War of Nerves

The production team says Se Jin repeatedly puts the couple in unexpected situations. The tension between Yoo Jin and Se Jin is described as both tense and playful. It comes from their different feelings, rooted in love for and admiration of Min Jae.

Why You Should Watch?

Instead of a typical love triangle, this one looks built on admiration and protectiveness around the same person. With a team of leads already ranked among this week’s buzzworthy actors, Between Steps is one to follow.

While you wait, catch Kim So Hyun in Serendipity’s Embrace and Choo Young Woo in Oasis on Viki.
