A hit doesn’t stay local for long. After ruling Kerala theatres, Nivin Pauly’s romantic comedy Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is getting a second life — this time in Tamil and Telugu.

The film first released in Malayalam on August 21, 2026, and quickly turned into a word-of-mouth success. Riding that momentum, the makers have now locked September 4, 2026, for the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions, with the Telugu trailer already out to build buzz.

What’s the Story?

The film follows Justin, a laid-back former online music uploader still single, and Ashley, his spirited and socially awkward neighbour. When Ashley returns home, an upcoming wedding next door stirs up old feelings between them — despite their noticeable age gap. As their bond deepens, Justin gets pulled into the local Kudumba Unit’s affairs, sparking a chain of comic misunderstandings that turn the romance into neighbourhood chaos.

Why the Expansion Makes Sense

Malayalam hits crossing over to Tamil and Telugu audiences isn’t new, but it signals real confidence from the makers — a sign that the story’s charm travels beyond regional lines. With its relatable rom-com core and ensemble comic support, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit looks built for that wider audience.

Nivin Pauly, meanwhile, isn’t slowing down. He has NP51 (marking Rukmini Vasanth’s Malayalam debut), Vijayam with director Alphonse Puthren, and Raghava Lawrence’s Benz lined up next.
