Best Weapons in Black Ops 7 Beta: All Meta Loadouts Guide

The Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Beta is live, and the meta has already crystallized around five dominating weapons. With 16 guns available, choosing the right loadout can mean the difference between victory and respawn frustration. Here’s your complete guide to the best weapons and their meta attachments for maximum competitive advantage.

Top 5 Black Ops 7 Meta Weapons Overview

1. M8A1 – Best Gun in Black Ops 7 Beta

Why It Dominates

The M8A1 marksman rifle is the undisputed king of the BO7 beta. Its four-round burst delivers devastating damage, capable of downing enemies with direct headshots up to 30 meters. Even body shots—just two bursts—consistently secure kills, showcasing its reliability across skill levels.

Meta Loadout

• Optic: Lethal Tools ELO
• Muzzle: VAS 5.56 Suppressor
• Barrel: 21″ Frontline Barrel
• Underbarrel: Envoy Foregrip
• Fire Mods: Buffer Spring

This setup maximizes stability and range while keeping the weapon controllable during burst fire. Mid to long-range engagements feel effortless, though close-quarters combat remains uncomfortable—pair with a secondary for CQB situations.

2. Dravec 45 – Best SMG in Black Ops 7 Beta

Why It’s Meta

Every second player runs the Dravec 45, and for good reason. It combines rapid fire rate with best-in-class SMG range and exceptional stability—a rare trifecta that makes it viable beyond typical SMG distances.

Meta Loadout

• Optic: Lethal Tools ELO
• Muzzle: Hawker Stabilizer MK. II
• Barrel: 18″ Jetstream Barrel
• Rear Grip: QuikArm Grip
• Fire Mods: Accelerated Recoil System

While its fire rate is technically the lowest among SMGs, it compensates with superior mid-range accuracy. The Ryden 45K might win in pure CQB scenarios, but the Dravec’s versatility makes it the smarter choice for most players.

3. Peacekeeper MK1 – Best AR in Black Ops 7 Beta

The Black Ops 4 Legend Returns

Returning from Black Ops 4 with a vengeance, the Peacekeeper MK1 boasts exceptional fire rate paired with best-in-class mobility and handling. It’s one of the fastest-killing assault rifles in the beta, rewarding aggressive playstyles.

Meta Loadout (8 Attachments)

• Optic: Lethal Tools ELO
• Muzzle: K&S Brake-2B
• Barrel: 21″ DF-3 Merge Barrel
• Underbarrel: EAM Steady-90 Grip
• Magazine: Vulcan Reach Extension
• Rear Grip: Kinetic-Mk1 Grip
• Stock: Swift-B Guard Stock
• Fire Mods: Buffer Spring

Fair Warning: Your first sessions will be frustrating. The Peacekeeper burns through ammo alarmingly fast and has aggressive vertical recoil. However, once fully leveled with these attachments, it transforms into the beta’s most lethal AR.

4. VS Recon – Best Sniper in Black Ops 7 Beta

The DSR 50 Spiritual Successor

Black Ops 2 fans will recognize this bolt-action beast—it’s essentially the beloved DSR 50 rebranded. With moderate recoil and one-shot kill potential from upper body hits at all ranges, it’s the clear sniper choice over the clunky burst-fire alternative.

Meta Loadout

• Muzzle: VS-762 Brake
• Barrel: 17″ RistRauch Nimbus Barrel
• Stock Pad: Stabil Heavy Pad
• Underbarrel: Breacher Handguard
• Magazine: Wyvern Extended Magazine
• Rear Grip: R-1 Shelf Grip
• Laser: 1MW Instinct Laser
• Fire Mods: Light Bolt

This setup prioritizes faster ADS times while maintaining one-shot lethality. Surprisingly effective in close quarters if your reflexes are sharp enough to quick-scope.

5. MXR-17 – The Mid-Range Specialist

The Forgiving Alternative

Not quite full meta status, but the MXR-17 excels as a mid-range specialist with excellent accuracy and range. Its slower fire rate makes it more forgiving than the Peacekeeper, ideal for players still developing their aim.

Meta Loadout

• Optic: Lethal Tools ELO
• Muzzle: Redwell 7.62 Brake
• Barrel: 18″ Rift-M7 Barrel
• Underbarrel: Sentry Pro Handle
• Magazine: Vault Extended Mag
• Rear Grip: Aria Assail Grip
• Stock: Gait-Lux Stock
• Fire Mods: Recoil Sync Unit

The recoil pattern requires practice, but once mastered, medium-range engagements become effortless. Modest mobility and fire rate keep it from top-tier status, but it’s a solid choice for methodical players.

Weapon Selection Strategy

By Playstyle

• Aggressive Rushers: Dravec 45 or Peacekeeper MK1

Leveling Priority

Focus on leveling these weapons first:

1. M8A1 – Immediately competitive, even without attachments
2. Dravec 45 – Needs fewer attachments to feel good
3. Peacekeeper MK1 – Requires significant leveling but worth the grind
4. VS Recon – Essential for long-range map control
5. MXR-17 – Good backup option while leveling others

Common Mistakes to Avoid

1. Using Peacekeeper without attachments – It’s genuinely bad until leveled
2. Ignoring optics – Lethal Tools ELO is meta for a reason
3. Running M8A1 in CQB – Always have a secondary for close range
4. Over-attachmenting – Sometimes 5-6 attachments are enough
5. Neglecting mobility – Black Ops 7 rewards fast movement

Meta Evolution Prediction

Based on beta trends, expect nerfs to:

• M8A1 burst damage at range
• Dravec 45 stability or fire rate
• Peacekeeper mobility or magazine size

Weapons likely to receive buffs:

• Underperforming SMGs (Ryden 45K alternatives)
• Burst sniper to compete with VS Recon
• Lower-tier assault rifles

Stay adaptable as Treyarch will definitely adjust weapon balance before launch.
