Bayern Munich 2-0 PSG: UCL 22/23 Quarter finals sealed for Bavarians

Bayern Munich have eliminated PSG from the Champions League, winning the second leg 2-0 at home. The aggregate score was 3-0, with the French side failing to score a single goal despite having some of the best players in the world in their starting line-up.

The last time the two sides meet in Bavaria, things ended in favour of PSG as they extracted revenge for the 2021 Champions League final. But this time, die Roten have maintained their 100% record in the competition on the way to the quarter finals.

Bayern Munich defeat PSG to seal quarter final spot

Bayern have made it to the quarter finals of the tournament for nine out of the last ten seasons. And with the performances they have been putting in, you wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up winning the title for a seventh time.

The first half saw both teams play some very open football. Yann Sommer almost ended up gifting the opposition a goal after being caught with the ball at his feet. Matthijs De Ligt produced a goal line clearance to keep it 0-0 in the game. Kylian Mbappe looked threatening at every opportunity going forward as well, but was denied by Sommer at every opportunity.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting opened the scoring against his former side in the second half, after PSG were caught playing out from the back. Leon Goretzka squared the ball to the striker, who had the easiest of tap-ins to extend his remarkable goal tally this season.

Serge Gnabry scored the second goal to seal the win, following a well-worked counter attack.
