What Exactly is an Objective Airdrop?

Objective Airdrop requires you to land directly onto an objective point while it is being contested in Battlefield 2042. To do this, you must be inside a vehicle that enters the objective area. Once the vehicle reaches the zone, either you or your teammates need to exit and drop directly into the objective to contest it.

Key Requirements:

Use any transport vehicle (air or ground)
Target contested objective points only
Exit vehicle within the objective radius
Repeat three times for mission completion

Best Vehicles for Objective Airdrops

The mission works with multiple vehicle types, giving players flexibility in their approach:

Air Vehicles:

MAV (Multi-role Adaptive Vehicle): Most reliable for precise landings
Helicopters: Excellent mobility and quick objective access
Transport aircraft: Great for squad-based attempts

Ground Vehicles:

YUV-2 Pondhawk: Fast ground approach option
Transport trucks: Slower but easier for beginners
APCs: Armored protection during approach

Step-by-Step Strategy Guide

Method 1: Solo Queue Approach

Join Conquest or Breakthrough matches for maximum objective activity
Locate contested objectives on the minimap (flashing icons)
Secure available transport vehicle near spawn or capture points
Approach contested objective while staying aware of enemy fire
Exit vehicle within objective radius to complete one airdrop

Method 2: Squad Coordination (Recommended)

Squad up with friends for better communication and coordination
Designate pilot and passengers for efficient vehicle usage
Identify multiple contested objectives for sequential attempts
Use voice chat to coordinate exits and timing
Repeat process until all three airdrops are completed

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Mission Won’t Count If:

The objective is already captured by your team
You exit the vehicle outside the objective radius
You’re eliminated before touching the objective
The objective becomes uncaptured before you land

Pro Tips:

Monitor the minimap constantly for contested objectives
Approach from unexpected angles to avoid enemy fire
Have backup vehicles ready in case your first attempt fails
Time your exits carefully to avoid mid-air eliminations

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to be the one exiting the vehicle for the Objective Airdrop to count?

A: No, the mission counts if either you or your teammates exit the vehicle within the contested objective radius. This makes squad-based approaches more effective, as multiple players can attempt the airdrop simultaneously, and any successful exit will progress the mission for all squad members.

Q: What’s the easiest way to find contested objectives for the Airdrop mission?

A: Monitor your minimap constantly for flashing objective icons, which indicate contested areas. Conquest mode typically has more contested objectives than other game modes. Focus on objectives that show active combat between teams, and approach them quickly before the situation changes to avoid wasted attempts.
