Barcelona place Frenkie De Jong, ter Stegen and Dest on transfer list

After being dumped out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich, Barcelona have reportedly placed underperforming stars Frenkie De Jong, Marc Andre ter Stegen and Sergino Dest on their transfer list.

The inclusion of De Jong and ter Stegen comes as a surprise since they have long been considered as two of the best players in the squad. But recently, their form has not been up to the mark which has resulted in Barcelona struggling to deliver results both in the league and in Europe.

Barcelona manager Xavi spoke about the possibility of De Jong leaving the club earlier. He said: ‘Our goal is for Frenkie to be happy here. We desperately need that type of player.

‘He is definitely not in the shop window, rather the opposite. The idea is to make him stronger here.’

ter Stegen has not been the same as in recent years between the sticks. The German keeper’s drop in form has resulted in Barcelona conceding a number of poor goals. And by the looks of things, the Blaugrana are willing to cash in on the player if a fair offer arrives for him.

But, with his most recent contract extension until 2025 signed only a year ago, it will be very difficult for Barcelona to sell him at a low price.

Sergino Dest is one of the players in the squad that has attracted a lot of criticism in recent weeks. The player has been scrutinised for his lack of defending ability, and he could be on his way out of the club given the situation surrounding them right now.
