If you’ve been glued to the brutal, bone-crunching fights of Baki-Dou on Netflix, you’re already asking the same question as every other fan right now: when is Season 2 coming? Here’s everything we know — and why the odds are firmly in our favour.
What Is Baki-Dou and Where Does It Fit?
Baki-Dou is the fourth manga series in Keisuke Itagaki’s legendary fighting franchise, animated by TMS Entertainment and distributed globally by Netflix. It serves as a direct sequel to Baki-Hanma and opens the brutal Invincible Samurai Arc — introducing a resurrected, death-defying warrior into a world already filled with the strongest human beings on the planet. Think you’ve seen every fighting anime trope? Baki-Dou finds a new way to shatter expectations every single time.
Has Baki-Dou Season 2 Been Officially Renewed?
Not yet — but the numbers make a strong case. Baki-Dou debuted with 3.4 million views in its first week on Netflix, with its second week dipping only slightly to 3.1 million — accumulating over 6 million views in just its opening fortnight. Koimoi That kind of retention is a green flag for any streamer.
Given the strong start and the abundance of source material still to be adapted, a renewal is widely expected. Koimoi For all the latest Baki updates and Netflix anime news, follow TechnoSports Entertainment — we track it in real time.

How Much Manga Is Left to Adapt?
Plenty. Season 1 covered the first 99 chapters (11 volumes) of Baki-Dou, which totals 198 chapters across 22 volumes — meaning exactly half the manga remains. Koimoi Season 2 is expected to adapt the remaining 11 volumes to conclude the Invincible Samurai Arc, though it may be listed on Netflix as “Part 2” rather than Season 2 — consistent with how the franchise has handled story splits before.
When Will Baki-Dou Season 2 Actually Drop?
Patience, warriors. Previous Baki series have seen two-year gaps between seasons — suggesting fans could be waiting until 2028 in a worst-case scenario. However, if TMS Entertainment is already in production, a 2027 release is plausible.
What Happens After Baki-Dou?
This is where it gets exciting for long-term fans. Beyond the Invincible Samurai Arc, there are 17 volumes of the Sumo Arc to adapt — and the sixth Baki story, Baki Rahen, which began serialisation in Weekly Shōnen Champion in August 2023 and is still ongoing. Koimoi So as long as the franchise keeps performing, Netflix has years of content ahead of it.
