Bakaiti Season 2 Trailer Out: Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chaddha Return With a Family Crisis

The Kataria family is back, and so is their trademark chaos. The official trailer for Bakaiti Season 2 is out, bringing Rajesh Tailang and Sheeba Chaddha back to ZEE5 alongside a new money crisis and a household now crowded with two Kataria families under one roof.

Produced by Dice Media and directed by Samar Iqbal, Bakaiti Season 2 premieres on ZEE5 on September 25, roughly a year after the first season’s August 2025 release.

What Happens in Bakaiti Season 2?

Season 2 picks up with the Kataria family entering a new phase filled with more relatives, more disagreements, and plenty of the show’s signature “bakaiti.” An unexpected turn of events brings characters Ajay, Alka and Aman back to Kataria Kutir, merging both Kataria families under a single roof. What starts as a temporary arrangement quickly spirals into clashes, old grievances and the everyday friction of extended family living together, compounded by a fresh financial crisis the household has to navigate.

Cast and Crew Speak on the New Season

Director Samar Iqbal said Season 1 observed the Katarias from a distance, while Season 2 was built to “breathe with them,” spending more time inside the characters’ relationships and the things they struggle to say, while keeping the show’s madness and humour intact. Rajesh Tailang, who plays patriarch Sanjay Kataria, said returning for Season 2 felt wonderful given how strongly audiences connected with the family’s everyday chaos the first time around.

Sheeba Chaddha, who plays Sushma Kataria and was recently seen in Mirzapur: The Movie, added that with two Kataria families now under one roof, there’s naturally more confusion and more arguments, but also the same warmth that makes viewers root for the family despite the madness.

The ensemble also includes Parvinder Jit Singh, Poonam Jangra, Ramesh Rai, Shashwat Chaturvedi, Devishi Madaan, Rtwik Nambiar and Abhijeet Chavan, rounding out a cast that made the first season a sleeper favourite for its relatable, low-key family comedy.

Bakaiti’s appeal has always leaned on situations audiences immediately recognise from their own households, arguments over nothing, unsolicited advice, and love expressed through actions rather than words, and Season 2 looks set to lean further into that familiarity while raising the stakes with a full-blown financial crisis. With the trailer already generating buzz among fans of the first season, Bakaiti Season 2 looks positioned to be one of ZEE5’s stronger comedy releases this month.
