Bajaj Teases CNG-Petrol Hybrid Bike and Engine Ahead of Launch

In this segment, not many mechanical revisions have taken place, so OEMs have started giving more features and gimmicks to increase the buyer’s interestability. In all of that Bajaj Auto is going a separate way by concentrating more on higher mileage (fuel efficiency) and lower running costs. In the commuter segment of motorcycles, this contributes to a premium feel with muscular tank shrouds in silver which carries over to headlight housing and classic round-shaped headlight along with handlebar braces, knuckle guards as well as front disc brakes. The seating and layout are said to deliver adventure-bike ground clearance.

Key features include a large side body panel, stylish and muscular belly pan, split 5-spoke alloy wheels, a functional grab rail for pillions, ribbed seat, conventional RSU telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock setup, tire hugger, and an extensive range of colors. The powertrain is expected to be a 125cc engine. Given that CNG is less powerful than petrol, the Bajaj CNG bike is likely to perform similarly to a 100cc bike but offers significantly better mileage and lower running costs. Whether it will achieve the coveted 100 km/kg mark remains to be seen.
