Baby John on Prime Video: Seven years ago, I remember stumbling onto an action film that promised high-octane thrills—only to discover a completely unexpected twist. Fast-forward to today, and Baby John is offering that same sense of surprise, but this time, on Amazon Prime Video. The catch? You’ll have to pay Rs. 249 to rent it before it eventually becomes free with your subscription.

Baby John remake of Theri: What You Need to Know in 2024

What Is Baby John All About?

Directed by Kalees, Baby John features an ensemble cast that includes Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi. It hit theaters on December 25, 2024—a date usually bustling with holiday cheer. Yet, somehow, the movie didn’t quite match the lofty expectations set by the classic Vijay film, Theri, from which it’s adapted.

But let’s be honest: not every holiday release becomes an instant icon. If you’re still curious about the hype and love action-packed flicks, there’s good news—it’s now on Amazon Prime Video.

The Twist: A Rental Fee

Here’s what makes Baby John stand out in the OTT world: you can’t watch it for free… yet. You’ll have to shell out Rs. 249 if you want to experience Varun Dhawan’s stunts, Keerthy Suresh’s charm, and Jackie Shroff’s menacing antagonist right away.

A personal confession: I’ve tried the same approach before—paying for a movie that everyone had mixed opinions on. Sometimes it’s worth it for the early access. Other times, I’ve ended up thinking, “Why didn’t I wait another month?”

So, would you jump on board without hesitation, or do you prefer holding out until it’s included in your trusty Prime subscription?

Why You May (or May Not) Want to Pay

Intriguing Cast
- Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh fan? This gives you front-row access to their latest on-screen chemistry.
Immediate Action Fix
- If you’re itching for a fresh action drama and simply can’t wait, this might be worth the rental price.
Wait-and-Watch Approach
- Not convinced? The film’s underwhelming theatrical performance may prompt you to wait until the rental fee is dropped.

Behind the Scenes

Produced by Priya Atlee, Murad Khetani, and Jyoti Deshpande under A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios, Baby John boasts Thaman’s music, adding an energetic score to its action sequences. The film was presented by Atlee and Jio Studios, a combo that usually has fans excited. Yet it didn’t quite hit the mark in theaters.

Still, every day’s a chance for a comeback—especially on OTT, where the audience is huge and flexible.

Final Thoughts

Baby John on Amazon Prime Video may not have shattered box-office records, but it’s ready for another shot at success in the streaming arena. Are you going to pay for that exclusive, early-bird viewing? Or will you hold off until the rental fee is waived?

Either way, if you’re looking for a dose of seasonal action and Varun Dhawan’s star power, this might just be the next movie on your watchlist.

Strong recommend if you’re all about immediate gratification. If not, patience could save you a few bucks. What’s your move?
