Some box office stories write themselves, and Awarapan 2 is one of them. A sequel to a 2007 film that bombed on release but later became a cult favorite, this one has done something almost unheard of — turned that flop legacy into a genuine solo blockbuster for Emraan Hashmi.

Awarapan 2: Day-Wise Collections So Far

Day	Nett Collection
Friday	Rs. 22.50 cr.
Saturday	Rs. 33.00 cr.
Sunday	Rs. 26.00 cr.
Monday	Rs. 9.00 cr.
Tuesday	Rs. 9.50 cr.
Wednesday	Rs. 6.00 cr.
Total	Rs. 106.00 cr.

Wednesday’s Rs. 6 crore marked a 36% drop from Tuesday — a natural weekday dip, but the film is still holding steady enough to be tracking toward Rs. 112 crore by the end of its opening week.

Why This Number Matters

This isn’t just a good run — it’s officially Emraan Hashmi’s biggest solo grosser ever, second only to Tiger 3, where he played the antagonist alongside Salman Khan. For an actor who peaked in the early 2010s with hits like Murder 2 and Jannat 2 before a quieter stretch, this is a full-circle comeback.

What makes it rarer still: there’s likely no real precedent for a sequel to a certified disaster becoming a hit — let alone a potential blockbuster — on this scale.

What’s Next For Awarapan 2

With no major new release until Yash’s Toxic arrives on August 26, Awarapan 2 has a clear runway to build momentum through its second weekend. Trade watchers expect a spike once the weekend hits, though the real test will be how well it holds through week two.

For context on how Bollywood box office tracking typically works, Bollywood remains one of the world’s largest film industries by output and audience reach.
