Avengers: Doomsday Could Fix Thanos’ Biggest Infinity War Mistake With One Doctor Doom Move

Every great villain needs a first act that makes the audience gulp. Thanos got one in Infinity War, but fans say the best part never reached the screen. What Went Missing From Infinity War?

In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos takes the Power Stone from Xandar and wipes out the Nova Corps. But we only hear about it through Thor’s dialogue. Thanos creator Jim Starlin said in 2023 that a roughly 45-minute sequence of Thanos getting the first stone was shot but cut, reportedly due to effects costs and runtime. It was never released, so his first big conquest exists only as exposition.

Why Doomsday Could Make Up for It?

The theory comes from The Direct. The latest Avengers: Endgame Encore post-credits scene showed the TVA watching timelines die in real time. Since Loki holds those branches together, Doctor Doom may already be attacking the source.

A full-scale assault on the TVA, and possibly Loki himself, would finally show a villain’s destruction instead of just describing it.

Why Doom Needs a Big Entrance?

Thanos had a decade of build-up. Doom doesn’t. He’s had a post-credits debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps and then jumps straight into a multiverse crossover. If audiences don’t fear him early, the idea of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men uniting against him loses its punch.

Showing Doom flatten an entire organization and a god from the start would send a clear message to both diehard and casual fans. When exactly it happens, whether in the opening or midway, is unknown.
