Athiradi Release Date: Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph Unite for May 2026 Action-Comedy

Malayalam cinema fans, mark your calendars! The highly anticipated action-comedy “Athiradi” starring Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, and Vineeth Sreenivasan is set to explode onto screens on May 14, 2026. This star-studded collaboration promises to deliver an intense ego-clash wrapped in hilarious moments.

Athiradi Summer 2026’s Biggest Release Confirmed

The makers officially announced the release date through social media, declaring “The celebrations begin now!” This strategic summer release positions Athiradi perfectly to avoid the crowded Onam season where heavyweights like Prithviraj Sukumaran’s “Khalifa” and Dulquer Salmaan’s “I’m Game” will compete.

Triple Powerhouse: Three Leading Men

“Athiradi” brings together three of Malayalam cinema’s most bankable stars in co-lead roles. The film’s teaser revealed an explosive three-way ego clash between the protagonists, setting the stage for an action-packed comedy drama. Directed by Arun Anirudhan, who co-wrote the blockbuster “Minnal Murali,” the screenplay co-written with Paulson Skaria promises wit and spectacle in equal measure.

Behind-the-Scenes Talent

The technical crew reads like a dream team. “Premalu” composer Vishnu Vijay brings his musical magic, while Samuel Henry handles cinematography and Chamman Chacko serves as editor. According to Malayalam cinema industry sources, the production values promise to match Hollywood standards.

Notably, this marks actor-director Basil Joseph’s debut as a producer in Malayalam cinema, co-producing alongside Tovino Thomas and filmmaker Sameer Thahir under Basil Joseph Entertainment and Dr. Ananthu.Entertainments banners.

Star-Studded Supporting Cast

Beyond the three male leads, “Athiradi” features Darshana Rajendran, Zarin Shihab, and Riya Shibu (of “Sarvam Maya” fame) as female co-leads. This ensemble casting elevates expectations for a multi-layered narrative.
