Assassins Creed: Ubisoft reportedly has 11 upcoming projects under the franchise

According to a new claim, Ubisoft appears to be working on approximately 11 Assassin’s Creed projects at the moment. An earlier story suggested that Ubisoft was growing the Assassins Creed development team, which now makes more sense given the company’s several projects in the works.

For a long time, the Assassins Creed series has been Ubisoft’s crown jewel. Its Prince of Persia series laid the groundwork for the parkour-filled action-adventure gameplay that Assassin’s Creed elevated with its fascinating lore, environment design, and perfected stealth gaming mechanics. Furthermore, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was Ubisoft’s first billion-dollar game, compelling the French firm to expand on its best-selling brand.

Ubisoft is now working on many Assassin’s Creed projects.

Ubisoft is presently working on 11 Assassin’s Creed titles, including the next Assassin’s Creed Mirage, according to Insider Gaming. under addition to Mirage, three other titles are now under development: Assassin’s Creed Nexus, Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, and Assassin’s Creed Codename Red. Two of the games in this lineup, Codename Hexe and Codename Invictus, are also said to be in pre-production. In addition, three games codenamed Nebula, Raid, and Echoes are in development, with Raid and Nebula being multiplayer Assassin’s Creed titles.

A sequel to the VR game, Assassins Creed Nexus, is also being discussed internally, according to the report. Another project rumored to be in the works is a remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, which introduced Edward Kenway to the franchise. Interestingly, Black Flag is also the fifth best-selling Ubisoft game of all time, with about 15 million copies sold, which could be a major factor in its resurgence.

The games in this lineup include a mix of multiplayer and single-player releases, with one of them also being developed for mobile. With Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, published in 2011, Assassin’s Creed offered a multiplayer mode for the first time, although the format was popularised by Assassin’s Creed Unity, which still has active players eight years later. However, despite some fans liking the novel gameplay, it failed to achieve major popularity, so it will be interesting to watch how Ubisoft approaches a full multiplayer game in the franchise.
