There are actors who sign films for money, fame, or scripts. And then there’s Arshad Warsi — who signs them purely out of love. In an exclusive conversation, the beloved Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. star has revealed exactly why he came on board for Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action-thriller King and Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Bastards of Bollywood. Spoiler: it has nothing to do with the script.
Key Takeaways from Arshad Warsi’s Exclusive Interview
| Topic | What Arshad Said |
|---|---|
| Why he did King | Pure friendship with Shah Rukh Khan |
| Why he did The Bastards of Bollywood | Said yes to Aryan Khan instantly, no questions asked |
| On Aryan Khan | Called him a star even without being a conventional actor; praised his multiple businesses |
| On Suhana Khan | Called her a hardworking, sweet kid with zero bad behaviour |
| On SRK’s legacy | Said Khan, alongside Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, gave the profession global dignity |
“If They Ask, I’ll Do It” — Warsi on the Khan Family
Warsi’s admiration for the Khan family isn’t performative — it’s the kind of bond built over decades. When Aryan Khan called him to play a gangster in The Bastards of Bollywood, Warsi said he agreed instantly, without a second’s hesitation, purely because of his affection for Aryan and his father.
On Suhana, who makes her big-screen debut in King, Warsi was equally glowing. He described her as a hardworking young woman with not an ounce of bad behaviour, someone destined for success given the sheer goodwill surrounding her. His words felt less like celebrity PR and more like a proud uncle genuinely rooting for a kid he believes in.
The SRK Factor — A Friendship That Transcends Films
Warsi’s reverence for Shah Rukh Khan — one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic stars — goes beyond filmmaking. He placed SRK in the same bracket as Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan as actors who elevated the entire profession’s dignity, not just in India but globally. That kind of admiration, earned over years of friendship, is what drove every casting decision here.
On the work front, Arshad Warsi has a packed slate ahead with King, Dhamaal 4, and Welcome to the Jungle all in the pipeline. For the latest Bollywood news and film updates, stay tuned to TechnoSports.
