A new smaller, cheaper iPhone SE 4 is creating a ton of hype in the compact/affordable Apple smartphone space, but whether it’s worth buying depends on who you are. If you missed it earlier, we have further thoughts about the best and worst reasons to buy the iPhone SE 4.

iPhone SE 4 Buying Guide

Design and Display

The iPhone SE 4, meanwhile, is tipped to be closer in design to the iPhone XR with a larger 6.1-inch display and ditching the home button for Face ID, again something also not found on earlier iPhone SE models. Though some may mourn the loss of the smaller size from SEs past, these changes make it more the right fit for content consumption as well as modern apps.

Performance

The SE range surprises many with its excellent performance at a more affordable price. Apple will release the iPhone SE 4 with an upgraded A15 or A16 Bionic chip, similar to its high-end devices. That makes it run smoothly in any application, casual gaming, and multitasking, appealing to users who benefit from a quick iPhone without shelling out top dollar.

Camera

Given its single-camera setup, the iPhone SE 4 should get better Night Mode and computational photography features, targeting consumers who want decent photos but don’t require a multi-lens system. It won’t compete against iPhone 15 Pro models, but it ought to provide solid everyday photography.

Price and Value

Expected to be priced competitively, especially in markets like India, the iPhone SE 4 is likely to target budget-conscious buyers. While the exact price is not yet confirmed, it’s expected to remain affordable compared to flagship iPhones, offering great value for those who want modern performance and features at a lower cost.

Verdict

If you’re after an iPhone with solid performance, a larger display, and reasonable camera capabilities, the iPhone SE 4 could be a great buy. However, if you prefer more advanced features, such as a ProMotion display or a multi-camera setup, you might need to consider a pricier model.
